Terrifier (2016)

LOL

This movie is awful. However, I was thoroughly entertained. Pretty much laughs all the way through, it's just not a movie I could take seriously. The characters are so stupid, there is no plot, but the gore is pretty constant. I thought this was a black comedy or was intended to be because I certainly got a lot out of laughs out of it. If you like cheesy bad movies and horrible acting this is for you. I wouldn't call it scary at all, just a dumb gorefest. Kinda how I felt about saw 3. Just a clown and his shenanigans carrying around his garbage bag of tools. It also reminds me of those classic 80's slashers that were cheesy and bad. Honestly, it's pretty bad but funny to me but I wouldn't watch it again.

Let me be clear..
13 December 2023
I want to preface this by saying that I'm an enjoyer of the absurd. Anything that decides not to conform, a thing a lot of people hate which is clear to me here in a plethora of one star reviews. In a way I understand it, people detest things they don't "get". I also enjoyed Xavier Renegade Angel so judge me how you will. I don't always laugh at this show but I still thoroughly appreciate and enjoy it! It always manages to give me a certain feeling of channel surfing to see whats on. But for all I know maybe I'm the insane one for enjoying what you think is garbage tv. Or maybe at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. I can see both sides of the coin but in my opinion, Awesome Show, Great Job!

When it's good, it's hilarious.
7 December 2023
This show at first captured me because I really hadn't enjoyed many sketch shows before this. And now I quote this show pretty much on the daily. Probably my favorite sketch show of all time, the really good sketches made me laugh so hard my sides hurt but the mediocre ones left more to be desired. Some I kind of just sat through and sometimes they go on a little too long but I wouldn't say this taints it at all. The humor and jokes in the show are just so uniquely Tim Robinson and I feel like you couldn't get these types of laughs anywhere else. His delivery is always over the top and completely unreal. Some sketches feel like someone else trying to act like Tim but they miss they mark. Overall he's just super funny. Rewatchability is absolutely crucial here because honestly the more time went on the funnier it got, sometimes I would remember lines from a sketch and laugh harder than when I first heard it. It feels like a little inside joke I share with Tim.

Ok so... Lets talk about the recent season.
7 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have been a fan of wwdits since the show first aired and before that I was a fan of the original movie. I would say that I have enjoyed it up until newer seasons (shocker) though Im not really surprised. First of all I do not like that they pulled Guillermo's vampirism away literally immediately after he got them. There was practically zero consequence to his actions, this whole ENTIRE season was a side quest about him and Laszlo exploring why he was turning very slowly and the odd things that were happening to him. This makes the season as a whole feel useless and that my time was wasted waiting for this one moment just for it to be able to be reversed in about 5 minutes. Wtf even was that. And honestly a lot of this season was failing to make me laugh. Some episodes I was completely straight faced. This show just isn't feeling like something worth watching anymore, because if they're gonna take a whole season of progress and reverse it just so they can have another season Im out for now.

The Curse (2023– )

I honestly really enjoy it..
7 December 2023
Most of these reviews were written when only one or two episodes were even released which on its own is sort of silly. I understand it is NOT going to be for everyone but at least give it more time. And this isn't my final review either, I will come back to update as the rest of season one comes out. (we're on episode 4 now) From the get go I was in love with the way it was shot, the odd soundtrack, and the characters. To me Asher and Whitney's dynamic is something we have seen before and I would even compare it to another one of my favorite shows Succession (Shiv and Tom) which is also a show with some really compelling characters whose actions are thought out carefully. I can tell a lot of thought and care was put into The Curse and Benny Safdie and Nathan Fielder are a dream duo in my eyes. This show is not without flaw (and I'm a Nathan fan and trying not to be too much of an obvious kiss ass cause I love the guy's work lol) but it has so much potential that I feel like isn't for everyone which is why I think this has so many negative reviews. It's experimental, it's weird, it's cringe inducing, and it takes risks. The consequence of that would naturally be some people's distaste for it but it's ok with me because I know what I like. Slow burn is exactly my style B). I think I'm cursed, guys...

Fleabag (2016–2019)

I love Fleabag.
7 December 2023
I absolutely adore Fleabag and every flawed character in it along for the ride. Deeply funny and relatable at times, it really captures the feeling of loneliness and loss and clinging on to what you have left even if its so little. My favorite part of the show was the sisterly love/hate that Fleabag has for her sister. I always loved moments with them sticking together and even if they fought they still ended up back with each other. The end will make your heart hurt a little, well it did that to mine, but I think it also ended on a perfect note. Its also a series that would never even think to overstay its welcome and that is something rare nowadays where if something is even a little bit good (or even not) it gets 12+ seasons of crap. This is the perfect length and ended the best way it could. This is Fleabag.

Moral Orel (2005–2009)

Shouldn't have been canceled! Shame on you Adult Swim.
19 September 2023
Wow has it really been 18 years since this was on air? Jesus christ. Pun intended. Complicated characters and satire come together to create Moral Orel, a take on toxic people and relationships, generational trauma, and Christianity. You have to watch it to believe it since its looks can certainly put people off. But this show is refreshingly introspective and goes deep into the characters in it. One of the best episodes of the show are around season three where things really start to get heavy. Im not much of a crier, but this show made me sob. Its not a light watch and you need to be in the right state of mind to appreciate it but that goes for every well done piece of media. Not to mention it does all this while being very funny! Please watch Moral Orel and I promise you will have a connection with this show like no other.

The Trial (2017)

Objection! speculation.
19 September 2023
Ive tried to get friends, family, and coworkers to watch this. To absolutely no avail. Yeah the time put into it intimidated everyone to avoid this and sometimes I wish I could just force it onto them yknow. I gave it a chance and found it hilarious because theres so much detail and backstory that missing a little moment of it could skew the viewing. Slow, SLOW burn comedy but to me 100 percent worth it. I spread it out over 3 days and as time went on I cracked up more and more. Don't let the time intimidate you and give it a watch, it deserves it! But then again it is definitely an acquired taste and its alright to not like it too. If you are a fan of deadpan slow burn comedies or just happen to enjoy trials check it out.

Incredible! Its ADVENTURE TIME ONCE AGAIN!
19 September 2023
Absolutely amazing! Watching it gives me a feeling of nostalgia and healing. I love how its made it more mature in a way, discovering more themes of adulthood and depression. Simon was always my favorite so to see this series focus on him for now is lovely. I saw someone else on here say it was too sad and that this show is supposed to be an escape but I disagree to an extent. Adding the element of sadness creates more depth and explores new themes. A good show should make you think! And its not like adventure time has never been sad. Love it and will be following the whole way through. I was nervous considering it is a max original because of shows like Velma and hoops. Max makes absolute trash shows but in this case the project has actually talented people involved so thank glob. I recommend to any adventure time fan who grew up with the show.
