Snooker Man (2024)
Not funny at all
Well, well, well... This was a let down. It was an uneven movie and it felt quite pointless actually. Not what I would call a good movie at all.
It is a pity because it could have been much better, if it had a better script. I got the impression that the main character and some of the other actors actually could act but they didn't had a good manuscript to work with.
The first half of the film was boring and felt irrelevant. It felt just like a filler to get a full time movie. The second was much better (but not really good) and was about the snooker.
They got some credible scenes about the shots and the rules of snooker alright, to my satisfaction. Except for the maximum break they were talking about. As the previous reviewer said it wasn't possible to reach 147 in score, since they only used 10 red balls.
I liked the snooker man character but it didn't help with that manuscript. It all felt just flat and boring. Sorry to say.
However I liked to soundtrack. Surprisingly good.
So, I would give it about 2,6 stars but since I only can vote whole numbers I will be kind and give it a 3.
Family for Christmas (2015)
A bit strange movie
Many other reviewers have already covered most of what is needed to be said about this movie. But I just want to add my experience. (It contains a mildly spoiler.)
First I want to say that I find this movie a bit odd and strange. It is not at all like the other romantic Hallmark movies. It started promising but then it went into a strange direction.
I find the story quite unbelievable and then I don't mean the story in general but the decisions made by her. She had so less time to settle down into a new life (also all of them around her were strangers, except for one person) and even if there were no chemistry between the pair and she had to give up everything she worked for and liked, she just changed her mind. Just like that... It felt forced and not believable at all.
I didn't find this movie romantic at all. Just forced and awkward. It left me unsatisfied and I just wondered what I just saw...
Lacey Chabert plays very well, as usual. But she didn't had a well script to work with so it didn't help to save this movie. I really don't know how many stars I would give this but I landed on a 4 (which is unusual low rated for me on a Hallmark movie). I wanted to give this more but I can't. If not for Chabert I would have gave it even less.
Fall Into Winter (2023)
A pleasant movie
First I want to say that I don't understand the bad reviews for this movie. I have watched a lot of these romance movies and I have seen a lot worse. In fact I really liked this movie. I thought they played well and I liked the characters.
Some says they didn't had any chemistry. Well, I think they had. Sometimes a relationship grows slowly and their characters developed and was believable. I liked that they were sincere and tried to get things to work. I thought the male character played an interesting and likable role. I thought they all played pretty well.
So I can only recommend this movie.
Straight from the Heart (2003)
Yes, too unbelievable
I registered just to give this comment.
I totally agree with the whole review "Decent movie, but too unbelievable", by "herrcarter-92161".
It was nice views in the movie but it was an unbelievable story.
Just read the review I mentioned above and you see what I think of the movie. He got all the issues with the movie covered.
Otherwise it was a good idea for a plot but could have been made more believable. The acting was mixed. It was good or almost good. Sometimes it felt that something was missing in the acting. Those scenes where the acting was almost good it felt like it was a bit too forced and predictable.
It was worth looking at once but for me not twice.
I would rate it about 5.7.
