Excellent movie but I found it funny that a Papillon, laying on his back on his coconut raft, yelling In still here, I could see that someone was in the water behind his raft. The torso and legs were visible.

Briefly, I will say that the film was much better than most of the reviewers posted on this site. As far as comparison to most Hollywood produced films, I would agree that it deserves a lower rating. Possibly a 5 out of 10. The problem is that this is a movie directed toward Christians and those that have an interest in Christian based movies. The people that are aggravated by Christianity unfairly critique these movies because they are bitter toward believers. I would give the movie 8 out of 10 because it based on comparison to other Christian movies.
I would recommend that if someone hates Christians and Christianity, ignore these films. Don't rent it out or watch it if it offends you.

Like the other person that reviewed the film, I was young (12) when I saw the film but I have thought about it many times since.
In fact, I was able to finally track down the title. I cannot say the movie was great but the premise was interesting and, for a 12 year old, plenty of frights. I must have checked over 100 sites to try and find the name of this film. Several scenes were memorable such as when the were being attacked in the control room and then when they were trying to escape by climbing out, since the elevator no longer was operable. If anyone has a copy of the film, I would appreciate being contacted so I can share it with my children.
