Men made disaster related movie based on actual fire
16 November 2023
It was already 51 years ago when the fire at Daeyeonggak Hotel killed 164 people and injured 63 persons in 1971 and it had set the World record of the highest causality from the building fire at the time.

This movie is motivated by that hotel fire at Myung-dong of Seoul in South Korea. The Myung-dong area of Metropolitan Seoul has been the tourist attraction and the busiest fashion cartier then and now all the time.

The fire was not only the building fire of highest death toll but also live broadcasted to popular new media of the time, national TV network.

This may have inspired the movie producers of Warner and they made this actual event into Hollywood action movie stunts and got quite a success with some Oscars.

But after 50 years when I saw the live broadcasting of this fire from back and white Zenith TV, I was barely freshman kid of an elementary school and never forgot the sheer horror of those dying people howling for crying help.

Last year, South Korea had another major man made disaster at Itaewon again in Seoul with 158 people dead horribly like the fire of Daeyeonggak Hotel. There might be some 50 year cycle of bad Karma entangled with South Korean people.

South Koreans don't learn anything from their past history and in this regards, there will be 2nd Korean war soon with the North Korean thermal nuclear war head. When this happens, it will also give some good Hollywood movie materials like this building fire and the 1st Korean war occurred back in 1950.

Enjoy this movie and another disasters likely to happen this time in Seoul of South Korea.
