My Little Pony: The Movie (2017)
A Glorified MLP Film That Falls Short, but still awesome!!
Its a kids film... what do you expect right?
This film is undoubtedly a good film but breaks the mlp formula on what makes characters likable (Because there an't anything to build off of).
The film introduces a lot of unique looking new characters but then falter on there relevance, except Tempest because she provides decent backstory with a tinge of cute metaphor.
The new frame by frame animation with Disney like quality brought out a refreshing cuteness that would hold dear to my heart.
Every character writing and story falls short but the visual masterpiece and character animation outweighs it all.
Truly a good movie to appreciate.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic: Newbie Dash (2016)
Rainbow Crash the Resilient
A great episode for teaching us about how we easily forget our values, how we see seek our worth in others and how everyone we know struggles like us.
The part with the shame naming can be tiny bit morally confusing but it emphasize the idea on how we have a delusional perspective on how we see our self's and others that is connected with our troubled pass.
The name being 'Rainbow Crash' is a good name for RD to remember her time becoming one of the Wonder Bolts and the lessons she learned, the change of idea toward the name shaming to be a reference about on how we changed from a struggle they faced to become a WonderBolt , and how to appreciate to be a part of something awesome.
Trying to be awesome for others is not awesome at all!!
The cherry on top is how we learn that the Wonder Bolts aren't perfect coolest team that RD used to think of them, but hard and dedicated members that struggled like Rainbow Dash at the end.
The Idea of Rainbow Dash trying to place her name is interesting because she confronts her fear that she not might be as great as every other pony in Ponyville thinks of her.
This idea was used in a couple of episodes before but is a great metaphor (for example) on how family's opinion's about us are always great but people outside won't see that personal side and greatness of you at first.
Overall one of the best episodes in Season 6!
My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (2013)
It was decently entertaining. Not as best as the original MLP show
Its very easy to complain about a movie that is quite shallow, but i don't blame you.
The Creators and Animators truly just wanted to see the human versions of everyone's favorite characters come to life ... nothing more.
So i found it fun seeing our adored MLP characters in human form and was thoroughly entertained as i think that's the aspect everybody else would enjoy about this film and its aesthetics.
The only thing i would've wanted is a bit more interesting morally grounded philosophy behind the story and emphasize more about the idea of being in high school then just a Hollywood version idea on what a high school is.
I'll definitely watch the rest of the films when I'm bored. But still recommend any fan of MLP to watch it :)
