Adventures in Rainbow Country (1969)
The things you learn on the internet
For 35 years I thought this show was based in the interior of BC and filmed on the coast. Interesting to find out that I was wrong. Sure looks like the BC coast though.
I remember this show from my youth and thought it was OK. I didn't mind watching it, which means that for a Canadian show it must've been pretty good. I haven't seen any episodes in the past 30 some odd years but today I stumbled across it on a digital channel so I sat down to revisit a bit of my youth. Storyline was very familiar and I enjoyed reliving my youth by watching the episode. While I was glad to see the show survived it was unfortunate that the media that the show was recorded on (film?) hasn't stood the test of time very well. I've seen colour film from the 40's in better shape.
Waking Ned (1998)
A wonderful movie
Very funny movie with great characters and a nice storyline. One of my all time favourites. Sadly I think it was overlooked by many even though I thought it was on par with that other very good British comedy "The Full Monty".
Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002)
The well is dry
The cameos were good. Beyond that, this one was way too thin on laughs. Mike Meyers should've quit this franchise while he was ahead. I loved the first two Austin Powers movies but I won't be standing in line to see an AP4.
The Siege of Firebase Gloria (1988)
Nothing new
Very Cliched. Quite corny. Acting gets worse as the show goes on. Don't believe anything that folks say about the "realism" that this movie is supposed to portray. It's just a shoot'em up. Interesting twist in that the VC sieging the base were given a human face and weren't portrayed as evil incarnate.
