Halo (2022)
You had me until the end of the first episode
I gotta say the show started off well. Graphics were not top notch but it had the elements of Halo. The weapons, the suits, the vehicle and even a decent story but the one thing they got wrong was the most important idea behind Halo in my opinion. They removed Master Chiefs helmet. They gave Master Chief an identity. Early on it was said that the reason you don't see MC without a helmet was because you were Master Chief. No gender, no race. You were Master Chief however you defined yourself and that to me was the best part of Halo.
Prodigal Son (2019)
A Chore to watch
Five episodes in and I feel like I'm forcing myself to watch it every week. I want to like it but the storyline is weak and familiar. Very similar to Hannibal and Touching Evil. Tom Payne is all over the place trying to tip toe on the line of insanity. He's very over the top in most episodes and the only thing he really brings to the table is the crazy eyes. Not enough Michael Sheen but he also seems to be over doing his character in every scene. He's trying too hard not to be Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter. I get why he's locked up but still struggling to figure why he has an office in Prison and allowed to see patients. As for the investigation team, they don't seem like a team. They seem more like a married couple who sleep in separate rooms that are only together because of the children. Every episode feels like they are dangling a moldy carrot just praying they can get you to the season finale.
Reef Break (2019)
It's not good
Terrible acting. Characters are not likable. Writing is awful as is the cinematography. It feels as if the took bad ideas off a cutting room floor and decided to make this show. The connections made between the characters seems completely forced. I can only assume that between takes, they don't converse or try to bond in any way. Main character has no on screen charisma. Just all around, a terrible show.
Stranger Things (2016)
Amazing
Failure to disappoint. This show has been on point from start to finish. Finished season 3 today and was blown away. Stranger Things gets you right in the feels. They couldn't have found a better cast, crew, or platform for this show. The only let down is the time between each season. It leaves you wanting more after every season. I am hoping for at least one or two more seasons. Back to waiting
