Radio Star (2006)

A good bromance story!

I think the film's biggest sin is that none of the performances were memorable or outstanding. Park Joong-hoon, as the main character of this movie, was more dark and distant than anything else. This made the redemption arc even less interesting. Some of the supporting characters are interesting. The producers were cool, the chefs were funny, and the rock bands were interesting. However, the manager's personality was very predictable. Fortunately, the two leads are great, and of the dozens of roles that Ahn Sung-ki has played, I think this one is one of the most charming and very memorable in his extensive catalog. Masu. While not Lee's best work, it's still a solid piece of directorial work from him, and his cameo in this film was also hilarious and brought a smile to my face. Radio Star is a warm and fun time. Recommendation. What intrigued me is that even on the best of days he doesn't seem excited and that's why he's angry at his loyal manager. Why? I think the answer to that is he's just one of the reasons to consider it. The film is an ode to many years of professional friendship.

A Bloody Aria (2006)

Good to watch!

This may sound like a predictable scenario, but this plot nudges the viewer in the wrong direction at every turn. Director Won Shin-young takes the well-known basic elements of the horror genre and twists them even further, setting us up for something great. The key is the disorienting sense of humor that accompanies even the most violent moments. Just as Bong-young teases his hapless victims, Won Shin-young plays with the audience, alternating moments of tension with humorous releases, making us feel both pleasantly and uncomfortably inappropriate, and making us feel uncomfortable. I'm playing cat and mouse with him. Because in the end, it comes down to who can be the most proud. The film's defining pastoral and animal images (a soaring bird of prey in the opening shot, or a later scene in which an insensitive thug slaughters another bird of prey with a baseball bat) hint at an important truth: is showing. Obey no one else as a brutal natural law. Most disturbingly, the final scene suggests that the characters who should best represent order and civilization may also be the most barbaric.

An astonishing action movie!

I have never seen the original. But at least in this case, this movie has no connection to the previous movie, so there was no need to find those two to understand this movie more deeply. And if I had, I would have simply done something wrong in life, given the overall lightness of most Korean comedies. I think I have made it clear that I love the country of Korea and parts of its culture. Most of the Korean movies I watch simply because they're made from that country. Although I know they probably won't do well and will eventually succumb to melodrama (they are known for melodrama, believe me). I think it's far from a good movie. But whatever it was, it was a surprisingly good movie. Then again, maybe it was a terrible movie and I was just in a good mood and could have been more forgiving, but I didn't have a problem with it in the slightest. Korea, like many other cultures around the world, is male-dominated. From business to music to media, this culture is very male-centered.

Cyrano Agency (2010)

A very thrilling love story!
15 December 2023
The Cyrano Agency is a quartet of Korean actors who offer a unique service to their amorous clients. It's about inventing a way to make the object of your affection secretly fall in love with you. The agency has an impeccable track record by employing plots that work extremely well in a wide range of romantic dramas, from sudden rain when the girl doesn't have an umbrella to beautifully written speeches about love. , trying to maintain payroll to reinvest crumbling revenues into theaters they are desperate to rebuild. The Cyrano Agency takes that inspiration to heart and is proud that many reinterpretations of Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac have been adapted into films. But importantly, this is not just a modern take on a classic love story, but one that is certainly more imaginative than a typical romantic comedy would allow. ''Cyrano Agency'' has the potential to be a new generation of post-modern romantic comedies, a work that deftly distills all the heart-wrenching moments that Korean love stories are known for. It never strays into the realm of parody, but consciously winks at the audience while drawing on the entire best canons of the genre.

Simply an intriguing story!

If you're a fan of Korean dramas, you're probably familiar with Uhm Jeong Hwa as she was the lead actress in the popular series "Get Curl!" Oh, so young. She has been active in the entertainment industry since the 90s and has steadily gained popularity over the years as she always played her various roles realistically and captivated many people. She is definitely one of the most famous and outstanding actresses in South Korea. Her dedication to the role of Baek Hee Soo, a hopeless writer who uses up her brain cells for her comeback title, created a very convincing and charming performance in this movie. In keeping with her angry and excitable appearance, she lost 7 kg. This, combined with a confusing plot, made an impression on viewers.
