If you like Paul Auster!
3 May 2018
This was the 2nd Marcel L'Herbier movie that I watched. It has some strange and mystical quality that sometimes remind me of #PaulAuster's novels. Amazing adaptation, wonderful plot.

Ophuls's dinner with Jean Cocteau!
24 April 2018
A weird, great, creative, and pure fantasy, with a fresh approach, like you can't find one like this, even now! Marcel L'Herbier's style was like Max Ophuls mixed with Jean Cocteau. --- Hamidreza Rafatnejad

Minor flaws can be connived!
23 April 2018
As an Alan J. Pakula fanatic, there is nothing to dislike about this well staged adaptation. There are some minor plot flaws, sure, but with Gordon Willis magnificent photography nothing can beat the movie!

Naked subconscious!
23 April 2018
This episodic humble baby is a huge WOW! You can watch it again and again endlessly, because lets face it, it is the sculpture of our subconscious's projection, in its very naked form!

Old plot, well directed
23 April 2018
You may say that's an old plot, but hand it to David Lean, its going to be fresh as new! Powerful storytelling, masterfully directed. Like Brief Encounter, this too surfs the human soul.

Like dancing on a thin ice
23 April 2018
Wonderful acting, specially the kids. Minimal plot, with minor ups and downs, tricky ending which walks on the thin ice of turning in to a disaster, whereas it can be a delicate dance on the ice.
