Three of Us (2022)
Must watch- will rekindle your love for cinema
Beautiful set up, I have been to konkan, but the set up of the town and how empty it has been portrayed is beautiful. Like a character of its own in the movie.
Chemistry between characters explained and managed so well. A woman going with her husband to meet her childhood friend/love that too in India. I was afraid, it would be so drama to watch! But all the actors portrayed it so well and of course kudos to the dialogues writers and story and screenplay for this. It feels like normal like our lives, not so difficult to imagine a husband so supportive and lovers wife being so understanding.
I loved the mental battle the protagonist fights with herself since her childhood for all her life, until her mind gives up and gets a disease.
The cast is brilliant and this movie looks influenced by brilliance of Marathi cinema.
Sometimes I am afraid to watch something this sensitive because of the impact it will have on me later, but this movie was a great balance. It wasnt overwhelming with emotions. With so much going on in the movie, there are so few dialogues and whatever is said is so important and cathartic for the character. Not just for the character, but also for the viewer. The story takes you for a ride with it and it is a pleasant ride.
Now I want to watch movies like this.
Shastry Viruddh Shastry (2023)
Could have been much better
Acting of the son wasn't convincing, he was not able to convey his frustration and anger. He is angry in one scene and very next, he is singing a song. You needed someone stronger there against paresh rawal to play that scene. He challenges his father in one scene and is begging him in the next, very stupid scene.
The plot was good, story was good. Courtroom scenes are good and logical with good appeals from both side. Both side lawyers have played good role.
In the middle of all this, movie tries to talk about social issues like grandparents being parents for their grandchildren in India and US, which does not makes sense and jumps out of nowhere.
Movie could have been much better if it explained the son father chemistry properly and with some insights.
