While Wonderwell certainly explores themes of self-discovery and transformation, many framed it specifically as a reclamation of ""lost femininity"". I believe femininity is not a monolithic concept: Defining and reclaiming femininity can be deeply personal. What resonates with one person might not work for another, and labeling Violet's journey as solely about femininity excludes other possible interpretations. However, I wish for all girls watching this film to have a wise Hazel out there in their lives. Probably she won't tell you how to live your life, but she will be that invaluable helper who will be a guiding light for you as you explore this dangerous world. The film is definitely worth the watch.
