True Detective: Night Country: Part 1 (2024)
Doesn't take a detective to realise this is truly poor
I have not seen any previous series nor episodes of True Detective. I was planning on going back and watching them as the sound of an anthology crime drama is highly appealing. Coupled with settings of Louisiana and the Ozarks, I was excited.
However, I knew I was in for a rough time upon seeing a herd of extremely poor CGI caribou swan-diving off a cliff in the opening.
When an episode starts with bad CGI, it's usually a sign that we're going to be watching low-budget trash.
Terrible cgi, clichés after cliché, awful writing, paper thin characters, and bad score has left this opening very weak.
The lady screaming in the prison cell is a good descriptor for how I felt watching this hot, and not in an attractive sense, mess.
The Brothers Sun (2024)
Pure fun with a killer soundtrack
The show was the perfect balance of some really heartbreaking moments coupled with hilarious moments, fantastics twists, and great tense drama. To me, it really has it all.
Michelle Yeoh needs no introduction. She is simply unmatched.
Justin Chien as Charles. Wow, what a guy. Super acting and my God is he handsome!
Whilst I found Bruce annoying he was well acted by Sam Li. Highdee Kuan, Alice Hewkin, and Madison Hu were notably amazing.
The soundtrack by Nick Lee and Nathan Matthew David is fantastic and exactly my taste. So much so, that when I went to Spotify to find the show's playlist, lots of the songs I had already in my own playlists - fantastic!
