The Eighties (2016)
The approach was not quite the way it was
This is a great show but of course it could not encapsulate all that was going on at the time. The music change, I feel, was the biggest part, really starting in the late 70's, the bands carried right over to the 80's and exploded. Very big time of social change as was the 60's. They could have stretched it out more and been more indepth but what are you going to do!
The AIDS and other related topics were well done but hard to encompass the feeling that were going on at the time, sex, dating, stretching the limits in many aspects. They could have done more but I guess time and money came into play here.
Like they say, if you didn't live it/experience it then you missed it, as I told my son.
As We See It (2022)
By Chance
I happened upon this by chance, but I love it and benefitted by it. At times, for a guy, it brought a tear. But thats ok. It shows some things really do resonate on the tube, no, screen.
Through Our Eyes (2021)
It's all around us if we just look!
This show, I haven't seen the others, but very poignant on the different situation our fellow man/men/people are going through. I hated the other review! Till you know whats its like to have less opportunities through no fault of your own do you realize how hard it is to exist in one of the richest countries in the world. I found this very touching, and wonder why billionaires joyride into space but just a fraction of their wealth could help so many of these individuals. I just don't get it.
Forgotten Miracle (2009)
1st Miracle!
Excellent doc about our 1st Gold Medal in Olympic hockey and the journey to get there. No take aways from the '80 team, but here they were not all college guys, had fulltime jobs, and it goes on. Canada/Russia and Eastern Euro pretty much ruled hockey at that time so we really had a slim chance in hell. But..........
