Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
I honestly can't fathom the low ratings
I don't know what people are rating this so low for. It is quality sci-fi, which, is so rare. Complaining about characters not being fleshed out enough!? What do want, a novel, on every major character!!? Use you imagination a bit. It has solid story, sure it's been told before, but in a fantastic new world and setting. The characters it presents leave rrom both for imagination, which is fantastic in my opinion and also to be fleshed out with more back story in part 2. I also found them quite engaging and it's not too hard to imagine their back stories. Sure it's not going to set the world alight as a progessive awe-inspiring piece of cinema, but, it's a damn good film. I give this 8/10 but actually rating it 10/10 to spite the haters.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
Book reader
I've read the book series, maybe 5/6 times and I won't lie, at 1st I hated the changes! This is a 3/10 rating going to 7/10! The story and character development in the second series (ep.7) and reddit arguments for the changes have swayed me. It helps that some of the changes are so great that I can view it as a seperate thing and enjoy it for that, but putting things together I now think it will keep the essense of the books intact (unless they jump the shark like GoT, but let's be honest, that lazy ....... will never finish those books) I have hope! The wheel weaves as the whell wills! Dovie 'andi se tovya sagain!!
James May: Our Man in...: House of Pain (2022)
English exceptionalism
Even when it's not a group of "lads" on tour, the English always find a way to be lowkey disrespectful and dismissive of other cultures, tw*ts! Learn a few lines to Dantes Inferno, sur why would I bother, I'll just ramble about a Fiat Panda instead. James May has all the insight of the gelded goat he is.
Survivor: A New Era (2021)
Sad face
Like they crossed the x-factor with pc culture. As we'd say where I'm from, a shower of *ducking doses!!
Addendum, so disapointing after watching 40 seasons. It's not a trans thing or anything, very courageous peoole imo but it's this regimented pc culture, go way ta hell!
Just K.i.s.s. 🙄
Game of Thrones (2011)
Overall!
Ah no, it's good to be fair, like a gateway drug 12345678901234567890qo
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)
Good film.
Throughly enjoyably as someone from a different country, I'd like to say different time, but I'm not so sure. Jeremy Strong as Rubin actually stole the show for me, he needs to be given better roles, nice to see Sacha Baron Cohen showing his acting in a serious role as well
Marriage Story (2019)
Puzzlement!
I liked the film, affable and quaint I would say but to award best supporting actress to Laura Dern, baffles me. Not that she was bad by any means but it seems more like an award for an awards sake, or in this case, the films sake
Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers (2018)
Garbage
I knew nothing about this man Bob Lazar going into the film, it was pushed heavily on my Netflix, sadly also now, I never will! The documentary is just trash, a totally disjointed mess. The documentary maker really annoyed me too, I hate when phonecalls are staged to be part of the subject matter, real warning sign of the boredom and repetition ahead though tbf
Aquaman (2018)
A simple review
Pathetic, to sum it up, one dimensional and vapid. DC, time to catch yourselves on and stop pouring out swill that's only barely surviving on your name
