Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Wins my award for accurately portraying the gritty reality of war
This was an excellent, albeit fictional DDay saga which drew you in by the throat from the opening shot. Outstanding realism on the beach. Real war is like this (hell) not like the make believe fairy tales we were fed decades ago that glorified war. If you do not weep during this film you need to loosen up and check your veins for blood. Top notch entertainment from the get-go! Shades of Platoon ;-)
Signs (2002)
Lame implausible story line Better movie if you're religious
SPOILERS I was truly disappointed with this thief of 2 hours. Although Mel was intense the story line had enough holes for the entire Iraqi army to come through. If you're religious you might enjoy this dream episode but I found it ridiculous to the point of ludicrous.Bottom line this was one god awful' movie including forgetting their dog out in the yard. These aliens are supposedly so bad they kill a harmless tied up dog but then one of them decides to heal an asthmatic boy and he's rewarded by being used for batting practice by a homo erectus itching to enlist. I feel dirty now, let me go take a shower.
Prince of the City (1981)
Great Flick: Why the War on Drugs is a Joke
This is fine example of movie making and how shades of gray are everywhere. Highly recommended for intelligent viewers. Treat Williams has this role down Pat and for Law and Order fans probably the first time Jerry Orbach played a detective. This is a real life portrayal of the gritty big city drug trade and the interaction between cops, lawyers and DAs. and the way they all operate outside the law. The blue line is something the thinking man should be wary of.

The Sum of All Fears (2002)
Enjoyable fast paced flick once critical mass was reached
Genuine enjoyable viewing experience.
Could have been less lovey dovey scenes with Benjamin.
Morgan Freeman was outstanding and good casting featuring doves and hawks trying to bend the Pres's ears.
