The best Deadhunter's adventure to date
17 May 2012
Fortunately for the audience, "Killing Twice" is, as stated by the title, "a Deadhunter Chronicle". Calamator and Julian's alter ego leads us on the third installment of the Deadhunter saga; but this time, unbeknownst to me, they are not fighting zombies.

Truth is the effects could be better, specially the monster, but it reminded me of that monsters movies back from the 80s, and the good thing about that, is the good memories that they left on us; and regarding that movie, specially some great lines between Julian, who plays himself again as a Deadhunter, and his best buddy Calamator while they struggle to haunt that creature.

We would love the Deadhunter squad to come back eventually, whether to the small or the big screen, but sooner or later they will, as they were publicizing "Deadhunter: Patera of the Dead".

However, I had the chance to see his brand new short film "Till Death Do Us Part", and we can tell how much he improved into a great and better director after winning a Valedictorian graduation at The Los Angeles Film School last year, that's a remarkable thing on somebody who already was making his own movies for the past ten years.

The beginning of a talented filmmaker
16 May 2012
As far as I know, "Deadhunter: Sevillian Zombies" was intended to be a short, but nonetheless Julian Lara decided to make it into a feature film.

Sometimes if you don't have the resources to do what you want to do, you better don't do it, but all my credit to Julian for pushing himself to that hard and inglorious task that is directing a movie without the budget or the resources required.

You can easily tell how hard he tried to accomplish his own mission of directing, producing, writing and even acting, but, somehow, in the end, ten years later, "Deadhunter" is a cult movie in Spain.

However, you must definitely check his last zombie flick out, the one titled "Till Death Do Us Part", where you could see how he improved his directing skills after graduating at The Los Angeles Film School.

Very funny and intelligent humor
16 May 2012
Julian Lara gives us in Sweet Blood a hint of his sharp and intelligent humor, not to mention the discovery of the young and talented Spanish actress Patricia Toro.

Despite the limited resources that Julian might have had for the shooting, you can perfectly see how he handled the situation.

You can also look for a making of in Youtube, which was aired on the Spanish TV channel La Sexta, and you could see for yourself how did Julian manage to put all together.

This short was also selected and screened at several film festivals around the world, and it says a lot for itself.
