A steaming nugget of crap
13 April 2003
What can I say? This is the absolute WORST movie EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER made. And that's a HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT! There is no plot, no acting, no direction, no anything! It's worse than "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" only it takes itself seriously! Now granted it is funny to see Richard Nixon killing people, the death scenes suck. I am also not surprised to see that EVERY actor/actress in this movie have this film as their only credit on the IMDb. Skip this trash unless you absolutely do not believe me. I will give it this: there is definitely nothing else remotely like it! And it had a cool tagline: "They were young and in love. He was crazy. She was dead." Funny stuff.

Mega-Crap
18 September 2002
This movie, if you dare call it that, is mega-crap. There are maybe three funny scenes in the entire movie, and the laughs are all supplied by the supporting cast. The "Good Will Hunting II: Hunting Season" scene is great, as well as Chris Rock's 5 minutes in the movie, but other than that. Ben Affleck pretty much had it right when he said that "Jay and Silent Bob are nothing more than a third rate Cheech and Chong who rely on the same dick and fart jokes." Skip this picture. Skip any Smith picture that is not Dogma now that I think about it.

What is the big deal?
7 August 2002
What is the big deal about this movie? I had VERY low expectations for this film. I will admit that it was better than I expected it to be, but it is not by any means a great film. The highlight of the film is Willem Dafoe. He plays the perfect villain. Kirsten Dunst delivers a decent performance as well. And at least it didn't have a predictable ending. Now I realize that a bunch of you comic book lovers are probably going to send me a bunch of hate mail after reading my review, but so what. I agree with Roger Ebert's review of this movie. It's not very believeable, original, or all that enlightening either. Plus I don't like comic books.

I leave you with this question: Where does Tobey MacGuire's Spider-Man costume come from. He made the one for the wrestling match that looked like something his mom made for him when he was 8 on Halloween. The next time you see him with his costume, it looks like it was custom-made by a professional Hollywood costume designer. No explanation. And it aggravates me. I give this one a 4/10

A neat little film

Why hardly anyone has heard of this movie is beyond me. Angela Jones delivers a great performance and I easily understand why Quentin Tarantino wanted to keep her in the feature film version. An original story along with great acting make this one a must see.

The only movie to make me cry...
17 July 2002
Billy Bob Thornton writes, directs, produces, and stars in this truly emotional film. This film is very realistic, and that is what makes this movie great. Why Billy Bob did not win an Oscar for his performance is beyond me, but at least he was nominated for Best Actor. A truly heart-touching film without the "tragic man/woman" romance feces. I highly recommend this film. You won't be disappointed, trust me.

Masterpiece
10 July 2002
What can I say about "Reservoir Dogs" other than it is pure genius. Quentin Tarantino is an excellent writer/director, and he proves it to us with this, his first film. Excellent writing combined with great acting (compliments of Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, hell, the entire cast, including the minor characters) make this one a winner. Great dialogue, action, and of course the twisted sense of humor that is trademark Tarantino. I give this one a 10!

Highly underrated film...
21 June 2002
What can I say? This has to be one of the most underrated, overlooked horror films ever made. We all hear stories about people who decide to mess with the ouija board, and this is one that is quite entertaining. If you like suspense and a good plot as opposed to the crap that passes as horror now, watch this movie. Most of the best horror movies came out of the 70's and 80's. This one is proof.

Norm MacDonald rules!
19 June 2002
What can I say? This is one of the most original comedies to be made in the past 10 years. Not since "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" have I laughed so hard. There are so many great scenes in this highly underrated movie. The writing is excellent. Great cameos from Don Rickles, Gary Coleman, and (as much as I hate the guy) Adam Sandler, who did a good job in this film. Plenty of fun ranging from dead hookers to a priceless scene involving a drug deal. If you like Norm MacDonald, you will love "Dirty Work"
