Dispatches from Elsewhere: The Boy (2020)
Awesome until last episode
Terrible ending. After a wonderfully quirky and moving story Segal loses the plot with a last episode that is grossly self-indulgent and unsatisfying. What a disappointment.
2067 (2020)
So awful
Bad acting. Stupid dialogue. Protaganist has one setting: panic with emotional blubbering.
Cosmos: Possible Worlds (2020)
SCHMAZLY, PREACHY, DISJOINTED
Completely awful. Some of the interesting stories are totally eclipsed by the preachy, egocentric and ethnocentric presentation. The script is pathetic and deGrasse Tyson's presentation is overly dramatic and forced. In trying to be profound it is insipid and attempts at being thought-provoking are fumbled. It seems like the writing was by committee and there is no coherent pattern that made the Sagan Cosmos and the first remake so good.
Tales from the Loop (2020)
Just awful
Usually love this kind of sci-fi, but this was a total failure. Poorly written, directed and with glacial pacing. Each episode feels like it is several hours long.
They have crafted an interesting scifi nostaligic mood but that is all there is.
