Super Godzilla (1993)
Throw your weight around as you walk around, as the Big G
A fun game released for the Super Nintendo. If I remember correctly there are 5 stages to fight through with a different boss at the end of each. You manuever Godzilla through a map to get to the enemy monster. The screen is split into 2 parts. The top shows the upper body of the Big G as he walks about while you use the bottom half to follow a map to you destination. You will face military firepower and other hazards along the way. You dispose of these foes by merely stepping on (or thru) them. Sadly you take damage as you approach them and you even lose life for knocking down high tension wires. Hey the real Big G cant be hurt so easily but its only a game. A different monster awaits you at the end of each area and you will get to see different cinema shots of Godzilla and his enemies as you duke it out. A very fun game especially when you get to the last stage and have the choice of morphing Godzilla into Super Godzilla. Super Godzilla would appear to be the model they used when creating SpaceGodzilla. He looks totally awesome and has some new powers you will be able to unleash. A good game to add to your Godzilla collection but it does suffer from lack of replay value since you must start from the beginning every time you turn the game off or hit reset (no save option). But dont let that deter you, there are not to many games of the Big G around for us and if you happen to see this one its worth grabbing. Of special note this was an $80 game when it first appeared (like alot of my SNES games....grrrr) but you can find it new/used for as low as $10 now.
