Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013)
Have patience until episode 6
The first episodes (especially the pilot episode, duh) of this series are quite slow and a bit boring. If you have patience enough to go through them, episode 6 "FFZT" is where it pays off. This episode is really good and shows the show's potential. It's got emotion, good character interactions and positive character development, which you will see more of in the rest of the series.
I love Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D. now but I can admit I didn't do so when I starting watching the first few episodes. I almost stopped watching in the beginning. I didn't even like Agent Coulson at first (!) Well, after 6 episodes that changed. Very good. It's nice when you can go from not liking something to liking it. It's a positive development. (I also didn't like Tony Stark until Infinity War basically).
I can add that when I was a kid I used to watch X-Files and Star Trek: The Next Generation, and I think this show took some great inspiration from both of those. AoS is way, WAY better than X-Files for sure. I'm not sure it's better than TNG (the best series made in history) but it's close.
Currently rewatching!
Yes, God, Yes (2019)
Good high school movie that echoes the 90's/00's
Let's be honest, high school movies are not the masterpieces of cinema, but they have their place. Or at least they used to have. Since The Breakfast Club up until Mean Girls, they were a bunch of good ones. After that? No one comes to mind. However, this one was good.
It might seem like an odd setting, catholic school, at least for non-US people, but somehow it works, because that's just a background, the movie is character focused and feels genuine.
Anyone who has went to high school can relate to a story like this, and that makes it worth watching.
Noah (2014)
How to make an already unbelievable story even worse
* Take one of the most illogical and unbelievable stories in the history of literature.
* Make sure you keep the internal inconsistencies and unsubstantial elements of the original story.
* Add even more inconsistencies and flimsiness because you didn't think it was enough already.
* Add also some psychopathic behavior because you thought the original book didn't already have enough of that either.
Done!
The Batman (2022)
Worst Batman movie in decades
This movie was seriously overhyped. After the awesome works of Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins, how could anyone compete? In this case, they shouldn't even have tried. The story is incredibly boring and illogical. The villain, was just a plain idiot, first claiming he want to punish the "liars", but then suddenly wanting to kill everyone, including innocent civilians. Completely illogical. Also this villain suddenly gets ahold of tons and tons of explosives to blow up half the city, after literally whining how poor he is. Makes perfect sense. Not. This movie was just stupid. Watch Batman Begins instead, with an awesome story and a villain, who while certainly is not less evil, at least has some internal logic. This didn't. Avoid this movie.
Mortal Kombat (2021)
Nostalgia factor
This movie follows the original Mortal Kombat story well. If you have played the MK games you will like this. There is Raiden, Shang Tsung, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sonya, Kano, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Jaxx, Goro and a few more. The one main character missing is Johnny Cage. This movie is enjoyable for the nostalgia factor. Except for the nostalgia factor though, the movie is not that good.
Duck Amuck (1953)
Not really funny when the same joke is repeated the 42th time
This cartoon begins with a joke about the cartoonist interacting with the character. It's quite funny the first few times. Then that same joke is repeated about 100 more times with only some very slight variations. And that's all folks!
