Little Fockers (2010)
Funny movie but not as funny as I expected.
Each year we choose a movie for the whole family to see on Christmas Day. Since our ages range from 14 to 65 years old it's sometimes hard to find a movie we will all love. We were all fans of the first two movies of so expected nothing less with the Little Fockers. In my opinion the commercials show most of the jokes, there were a few we didn't expect but some where just too unbelievable. Jessica Alba's entire role was just too far out to believe. It really makes Drug Reps look bad as if a non-educated party girl would ever get the job of selling new medications. I would recommend this film to rent on DVD but not for $10 a ticket. I think a more appropriate title would have been " Say Goodbye To The Fockers".
The Family Stone (2005)
This is my favorite all time Christmas Movie
This movie touches on how fun a dysfunctional family can be. The characters are real. Each one has their own issues but they are able to all come together and take a break from them for the holiday. I think this movie is very well written, acted and directed. Kudos to all that made this film possible, it's one that will stand the test of time. It's not often that you can be a fly on the wall for a family that is honest and very real. Last year I recorded the movie during the Christmas season on my DVR and I accidentally deleted it. Today I was able to record it again but with commercials. This season I am buying the movie on DVD to have forever. It's not the season until I see it. I'm forever grateful for finding this film.
Due Date (2010)
Fantastic Family Movie ~ Great belly laughs
It gets more difficult to agree on a movie as a family but we did it this time. Our family consists of a 44,38,14,21-year-old's and each one of us got something else out of the movie. We all agreed to see Due Date and were very glad we saw it. We truly enjoyed this film. The movie was consistently funny and with heart. Robert and Zach play very well together. With movie admission going up all time I have to say this movie is worth the price of admission. It was really great to hear the audience laughing hysterically. There were parts of the movie where I truly had to compose myself so I didn't miss the dialog. I highly recommend this movie. Just really great fun! You wont regret it.
Jackass 3D (2010)
Warning ~ Just a heads up to parents.....
My family and I just got back from seeing the movie. We love all the movies and the show on MTV. This movie is very funny. It was really great to hear the entire theater laughing hysterically. We need more of that especially with the problems today. I do want to warn you that a couple of the guys show their penis on several occasions. My 21 year old daughter was shocked as she has never seen even one and she just saw several. We all loved the movie and is just what the doctor ordered.
Another warning !!!!!!!!!!! Pee before the movie starts or you will have an accident, it's that funny! Enjoy !
The Back-up Plan (2010)
Very funny movie, a pleasure to watch. The chemistry is contagious between Alex & Jennifer. Great talent & great material. It's a win win for all.
This is a great movie to see with friends, family or a date. It does not disappoint. The funny parts are well acted as are the few moments of serious dialog. I often walk out of a theater feeling like that was an hour and a half of my life I will never get back. Too many crappy endings and just drawn out movies. It's a let down to see serious faces as after a comedy is over. This is a fantastic upbeat, funny movie that will have you smiling as you walk out of the theater. Be sure to hang around a minute after it's over so you can see the hilarious out-takes. Jennifer Lopez is picky when it comes to the projects she chooses. I know if she is in it than it's going to be good. It is a pleasure to see Alex O'Loughlin in the role of the charming and attractive all around "good guy". I get bored seeing the same actors all the time. Alex has really grown as an actor and has great chemistry with Jennifer. Don't miss out on seeing this film. It's a feel good comedy that lets you know the good guy is really still out there. Two of the new girl on SNL are in the movie and really carry their own. I was impressed. I learned one thing for certain, that nothing is for certain. Live life moment to moment and enjoy it. It's nice to see a film that has a quality about it where you can take some of the content and apply it to your own life and the decisions you make. It's not the same old comedy that Hollywood spits out every year. It's worth seeing.
Phoebe in Wonderland (2008)
You owe it to yourself to see this film.
Tonight my husband , son and I went to the High Falls Film Festival in Rochester, NY to see this film. Bill Pullman spoke about the film briefly before they started the movie. My husband falls asleep during every film we see. Tonight he did not even get sleepy. We were all amazed at how incredible this movie was. My husband said he was just "Captivated" through the entire show. I was so impressed. My son loved it. The cast is supportive and just "Present" throughout the film. After the show Bill Pullman was kind enough to sign our movie festival poster and pose for photos..even though the stupid flash decided not to work. He was kind, gentle and very humble. This is a film that will stay with you. I know that the three of us left that theater changed. I would have said before that the best comment one could get about a movie is that it made you laugh or cry what ever they were going for. But the truth is that this movie changed us. I don't think I could tell you when I last felt that way. The movie is not hitting you over the head with it's subject matter it's just captivating. It tends to make you feel like you want to be a better person. I don't know if that makes any sense to you or not. It's just fantastic.
The Invisible (2007)
Great movie ~ well written, directed and acted ~
We rented this movie at my 11-year-old son's request. He watched the movie first then told me it was the best movie he had ever seen. He insisted I sit down and watch it right after he finished it. I loved it. Well done. All around very well done. It's a movie I was pleased to have spent my time watching. It was a great use of my free time. My husband came home and I am making him watch it right now. He too likes it. Three times it's been watched today. I got my rental money's worth. I have seen thousands of movies as it's my hobby to do so. I highly suggest this movie. It keeps your interest from start to finish. What interesting casting. Well done! This is actually a good family movie, a nice break from cartoons and make believe ferries and such.
Enjoy!
