The Sisterhood of Night (2014)
Still missing...
This film probably speaks loudly to many adolescent females who want a safe space to be themselves. The end scenes made me cry. Sadly, there were no black girls in this film.
Better Things (2016)
Phenomenal & Fantastic
Better Things has become one of my favorite shows of all time. Pamela Adlon... acting or being her true Mom-self avec cameras; I can't tell. Whichever it is, she rocks as a 21st Century SuperWoman battling monster, men, myths & smart mouths; all the while remaining present & emotionally available for her daughters. The young people who portray Sam's daughters are truly, truly priceless. I've loved Pamela Adlon all the way BITD when she was just a kid on ER (with Elliot Gould); then Pam Seigel. Celia Imrie is fabulous, as expected, as the matriarch of this wonderful coven. Max - self-absorbed, traveling her own path, still living at home; how can I not identify with this kid. Absolutely love the Evolution of Frankie. Duke, just want to hug & kiss her. Loved her cursing the daylights out of Frankie. 😆😆 (I'm the baby too.) Can't wait for more, more, more!
