Madame Web (2024)

Wow this is BAD!

The first 30 minutes were promising and then it all went down hill.

The movie was written by the writers of Gods of Egypt, Morbius and Power Rangers. Morbius is better than this mess and that should say it all.

They built Cassie up to be this loner who keeps everyone (even friends) at a distance. Then all of the sudden, completely out of character, she decides to save three entitled, disrespectful, rude brats...excuse me teenagers. They weren't grateful, they weren't thankful, never listened.

In the middle of the danger Cassie takes a super quick trip to the Amazon. No plan, no shots/vaccinations, no problem, 7 day turn around. Complete suspension of reality is needed.

I get they were hoping for a Madame Webb 2 but this heaping pile of garbage needs to be taken to the curb with the recycling.

The writing is absolutely atrocious. The acting is terrible. The main characters (4 girls especially the 3 younger ones) are absolutely unlikable. Please do not make another.

Lawless (2012)

Love everything except Jack/Shia

The film is great all except for the character of Jack Bondurant. Every single time this idiot is on screen he makes the wrong decision!

He repeatedly gets his brothers in trouble. Gets them beaten, shot at, shot, almost gets all their moonshine stolen. Jack is such a selfish, shortsighted, braggart, jerk. He gets his still blown up and his friend killed all because he wanted to show off and brag to his girlfriend. His girlfriend who could absolutely careless about material garbage.

Every single chance he gets to take Rakes out he doesn't. He chokes every single time! Had he taken the shot when Rakes was raiding the still Cricket would still be alive. If he would have taken the shot on the bridge his brothers wouldn't have gotten shot. Jack is insanely infuriating. He raced off to confront Rakes, shotgun in hand and then just stood there doing absolutely nothing! Oh except getting himself shot and needing his brothers to rescue him.

I really wish the Jack character wasn't given so much story/screen time. Lawless would have been a much better movie had they focused more on Forrest and Howard.

Prodigal Son: The Professionals (2020) Season 1, Episode 19

Really...breaking down the door???

So overall I have given this series a 10 but this episode is NOT a 10, I've given it a very generous 6. The last 5 minutes of this episode ruined it!

In my overall review I was, and am, very critical of how the "team" treats Malcolm. He is an extremely educated and highly gifted profiler. He turned in his own father. Has helped this team solve case after case after case but whenever the wind blows the wrong direction they question Malcolm, question his ethics, sanity, loyalty. This episode here is the PERFECT example. Why on earth would they kick down his door and break into his home??? He is your team member and moreover he is supposed to be your friend! Benefit of the doubt!! Come over, knock on the door, ask him to come to the station ASK him IF he did it. If he doesn't answer the door or refuses to answer. Sure by all means kick in the door. Furthermore, you really think Malcolm with all his intelligence went to the hospital with ALL the witnesses, signed in to the room and killed the guy. Left all that evidence on the body. Walked past the guards stationed outside while the alarm bells were going off because the guy was coding (he's hooked up to all those monitors in the hospital bed ... I guess none of them went off while Malcolm was choking the dude out, really!) and Malcolm just went home. Also knowing Malcolm didn't want his dad to kill him bc he needs this guy alive to implicate Nicolas Endicott so of all people Malcolm would never kill him. Ummm okay. Who would really want the killer dead...Malcolm or Nicolas? Obviously Nicolas. If I were Malcolm I would find another job and NEVER SPEAK TO ANY OF THESE DISLOYAL, TRAITRESS, JERKS AGAIN!

Wish there were more seasons!

Much like so many other reviews, I really wish there were more episodes/more seasons! This is such an amazing show it could have gone on and on.

I absolutely adore Malcolm. He's extremely Intelligent and insightful. What I don't love is how he has proven himself over and again. Proven he is an asset. Proven he is a valuable team member. Proven he wants to help and moreover he is NOT his father but Dani and JT continually question him. The slightest thing can happen and these two, and sometimes Gil, question his loyalty and stability. Just when you think they are all getting along and they finally trust him and they've let go of their bias the wind changes and they are questioning if he's a killer like his dad...even tho he is the one that got his own father arrested! This annoys me!

I also adore Edrisa. She is so funny. No matter what I've seen her in before or after she will always be the ME from Prodigal Son.

I watched this when it first came out on regular tv and I'm so happy it's on MAX. I binged it about a year ago and anytime I need something to watch in between other shows I go back to this. I still have hope someone (network) will reunite the cast and pick the show back up.

The Beekeeper (2024)

Stathom is the ONLY good thing...

Stathom is doing his usual thing ... karate chop everything and pretty much everyone. The only good thing about this movie is him.

If people took advantage of my loved one so badly they killed themselves and someone was avenging them there is no way I'm going to be working against them like Agent Parker. She was so annoying, so irritating so exasperating!!! Cannot stand her!

Then there is Hunter Biden... I mean the idiot, drug addicted, son of the president. Stealing and taking advantage of innocent elderly people. So ya maybe this character is based on Hunter Biden.

I give Jason Stathom an eight and the rest of the cast a two or less. I was so excited to watch this movie and so disappointed to actually watch it. Could have been such a great movie with a few re-casts and a few tweaks to the script (the supporting cast not to be so freaking annoying).

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV (2024)

Parental guidance????

This show is absolutely horrifying. The first 2 episodes are pretty much a skip. A lot of conjecture, a lot of questionable behavior a lot of suspicion. I thought this show (docu-series) was going to be more focused on how horrible the kids had it on these shows...their abuse. As a woman I have a lot of empathy for sexual harassment/general harassment in the workplace. However, this show was not supposed to be about the adults and their comfort.

As a mother I'm outraged at Brandi's mother and Drakes mother. Both of these women were on notice and both failed their children. Not only did Brandis mother fail her but by choosing not to come forward and go to the police with the evidence she had (a full nude picture of a grown man sent to her daughter) she potentially put a lot of other children at risk. I am by no means a perfect parent but I would have never left my child alone with a grown man. Drakes mother was told by his father do NOT leave Drake alone with this man and not only did she but she allowed her minor child sleep at a grown man's house ALONE! This is beyond all comprehension.

The third episode and testimony given by Drake is gut wrenching. I've also lost all respect for any adult who wrote a character statement for Drakes rapist! 41 people like James Marsden, Alan Thicke, Joanna Kerns, Taran Killam, Will Friedle and Rider Strong to name a few. All 41 people knew Brian Peck had been found GUILTY of sodomizing an underage CHILD! I will never look at any of these 'stars' the same way ever again.

Road House (2024)

Jake's abs are the best part...

I was so excited to see this! That excitement very quickly faded away....

I absolutely love the original and I've been a huge fan of Jake since I first saw him in Bubble Boy.

The acting in this is tragic. Jake and Billy did a fairly good job while the rest of the cast fell really short. The best description of the supporting cast...wooden. I like Jessica Williams (Frankie) she was great in Shrinking but in this she is absolutely awful. Very stiff and flat. Like this was her first time in front of a camera. The little girl, that has the book store with her dad, was also pretty bad.

The plot on this is weak. In the original the audience had a good grasp on who Dalton was and why he was helping the bar owner. In this, we know Frankie is not honest but don't really know why. Why not tell Dalton and the audience. Why are they hiding the fact she doesn't want to sell her bar to Brandt. The hiding doesn't make any sense so we don't really care if her bar is burnt to the ground. We cared about the bar owner in the original. We were cheering for him. We also got to know the staff in the original so we didn't want them hurt. In this, we have really no idea who they are so why should we care. His love interest (Rat Catcher from Suicide Squad) is...sanctimonious, judgmental and doesn't have that warmth/kindness of the original doc. Yes in the original you could tell the doc didn't like fighting but she would never have scolded Dalton for bringing people to the hospital for help.

I was really hoping Conner would be the Sam Elliot character or maybe switch sides. I think that would have been so much better than having him be the main psycho bad guy. The fight scene at the end was way too long. I actually FF to just get it over with.

The best part of this movie was Jake's abs. I've watched the original probably a half dozen times or more since it first came out. I will never watch this one again.

Elementary: Whatever Remains, However Improbable (2018) Season 6, Episode 21

Terrible Episode

Here is my huge problem with this episode in particular. I just don't believe the FBI would try this extremely hard to put all the blame on one woman who was almost one of Michael's victims. Not to mention Joan had two broken ribs and is a petite woman. How on earth was she supposed to kill him and lift this much larger person into the trash. Not to mention the only evidence is home saying the name Joan. No other evidence, no other proof is was actually Joan. No dna, no video, no linking crime scene evidence, no video showing they were even in the same area. I know FBI Agent Mallick is trying to make a name for herself but how is it going to look when you are proven absolutely wrong for trying to blame an innocent woman. Let's also not discuss Parminder Nagra weird, altered, monotone voice.

On another note, I get really annoyed with how Captain Gregson treats Sherlock at times. There is never any grace given! With all the money and advantages Sherlock had growing up he still had a very difficult time. His father is evil. His mother died when he was 8. I'm pretty sure Sherlock has a mild form of autism. Sherlock solves so many cases for Major Cases. So many that Captain Gregson has been awarded. The Captain never pulls a punch with Sherlock. Any minor mistake or slip up Gregson acts like it's the end of the world. Sherlock closes these cases, Sherlock gave Gregson a diamond ring so he could marry his girlfriend with MS, Sherlock gets Bell an amazing job. Sherlock is always there when Gregson needs him making look amazing. What a freaking double standard now that his daughter MURDERED someone and Joan is going to pay the price and be sent to prison! Gregson is a hypocrite. He acts like he's doing this major favor for Sherlock when quite frankly it's the other way around. I have gotten really annoyed with how Captain Gregson has treated Sherlock in other episodes but this one is the worst because it's glaringly obvious that Gregson has an entire book of rules he uses only for Sherlock and no one else.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Truth Embargo (2024) Season 25, Episode 2

Disgusting

This is absolutely disgusting. A complete slap in the face to every single woman who has ever been r#ped. An absolute slap in the face to any woman who has ever been SA'd. This is lazy, horrible, garbage writing. No woman who has ever been through something like this gave a flying F what color/race/ethnicity their attacker was and even putting this into the conversation is down right gross. I honestly believe that Hollywood is run by a bunch of clowns living in a bubble completely out of touch with reality. This episode should have never been written. I can't believe this got past a single one of the women on staff...writers, directors, producers, actors. Everyone just said yes, the audience will love this! Ridiculous!! Since you have disrespected so many of your female viewers I hope your ratings tanks. I really hope people will find a new show to watch in this time slot. I for one won't be tuning in ever again!

Knock-Off Mentalist

I recently binge watched the Mentalist. I love that show! This, however, is a complete 'Disney' knock-off. They really did copy the Disney model.... Exchange the main characters ethnicity/race, tweak it a little and bam act like you have a brand new show. This is much worse, as most of Disneys remakes are much worse. Yes this 'mentalist' is highly educated and not a carny/psychic, but it's the exact same show. Find someone who is able to read people, know the inner workings of their mind, and have them work with the police/authorities. Hhhmmmm sounds really familiar. Is this inspiration or just plagiarism?

I honestly believe Hollyweird has run out of original ideas. This show has been done and done really well. This boring, awful show was not needed.

I wasn't sure how I felt about Olivia last year but she has grown on me. Maybe it was the fact that she was with Austen. I used to like Austen but in the last few years he's gotten a massive ego and I don't know why. He's not that cute, he's not funny, he is a known cheater. He doesn't have a lot going for him. Exactly why would he think he is gods gift?? He's tall...so! Olivia should apologize to him. Hello, delusional/gaslighter much?!?

What in the world do Rodrigo and JT see in Taylor???? She is not a good friend. She is not a girls girl. JT and especially Rodrigo need to shut up and stay out of it! They are not girls and didn't experience her complete and utter disloyalty. I'm so happy Olivia told Rodrigo to SHUT UP! I know many girls in this new generation don't follow girl code but I do! I would NEVER touch any of my friends ex's. NEVER! Especially my best friends. Taylor is a sneaky, conniving, disloyal, back stabber. Then during this reunion she sees she looks like garbage and throws Olivia under the bus (bringing up Ravanal). What you did there child was make yourself look even more like garbage. It didn't save you. You trying to pull Olivia down into the gutter with you just further lowered you and made us sympathize with her even more!

I would love to see more of Olivia and Venita, the same amount on Leva, she's much better this season than on her first for sure! I would love to see LESS of Austen and never see Taylor again. Can she just go away?

Disappointed in Ed

I am so disappointed in Ed! I loved him on The Circle but I am so confused and disappointed in him on this show! He's supposed to be so incredibly smart, a genius with math. How can he not do the 'math' and realize he is LOW MAN in his alliance!!! They have VOTED HIM! Said his name to be eliminated. Jay does NOT value him! His alliance doesn't value him and when it comes down to it they will see him as a threat and VOTE HIM AGAIN! I don't get it. The girls that actually saved him he just threw under the bus. "Oh this is a devious move and I'm here for it". Wtf?

James knows he's the low man and his game solely relies on Moriah which is ridiculous. Zara is right he is a little "b*+ch" and Moriah's 4th chihuahua.

James and Ed need to wise up and stop playing Jays game! Jay is using them and when they get him to the final and they are not beside him well maybe then hindsight will be 20/20.

Jay is such a soft, weak, scared individual and I HATE HIM on this show! I never want to see him again. Threatening violence bc two people are laughing. GFY! He plays a scared game and throws a temper tantrum any time he doesn't get his way. If you don't fall in line and want to play your own game...another temper tantrum. I don't know why he's so delusional and who made him think he's in charge but I hope to never ever again see him or Michele on my tv ever again. Especially not together. Michele is tolerable, Jay is NOT!

BORING Jay & Michele show

If this is the direction the challenge is going I'm fine not having Paramount+.

I would be so happy to never ever never ever see Jay or Michele ever again.

Jay has a way over inflated ego for absolutely no reason. Jay thinks since he beat CT he's earned himself a name. Ummm no! CT was not his best self, he was not in competition shape and it was not a physical challenge head to head battle like a Hall Brawl. I would LOVE for CT to wear Jay as a backpack. That would make my year!! Send him and his stupid sock hats home.

Michele is the self-proclaimed queen bee. Why? Why is anyone following her? Her voice is so annoying! The last season I saw her she was incredibly insecure and was making up insanity in her own head. She thought everyone was out to get her and talking about her when they weren't. She destroyed her own game along with a few others with her paranoia nonsense. Why does anyone follow her...I don't get it!

The producers missed such an amazing opportunity to have her out of the house with both Laurel and Cara Maria and finally give us some good tv. The production should have chosen a physical (full contact) head to head game against either one of these beast (laurel or CM) they would have completely wrecked Michele, sent her home, thrown the house into chaos and maybe then we would have gotten some good tv! Drama instead of BORING! Jay would have completely freaked out. Maybe some other alliances would come into power and it would stop being the Jay and Michele show with the boring af Fab Four of Michele, Jay, Moriah and Asaf. Yaaaawn. All the stupid soldiers are helping these 4 get to the final and not thinking about their own game, DUMB!

I really hope they are both sent home soon and I won't be watching any future shows with either of these two.

Bring back CT, Cara Maria, Kam, Wes, Darrell, Leroy, Bananas & Devin.

Leave Jay, Michele, Nany, Josh, Messy Fessy (Faysal) and Kaycee at home! Please They are all annoying and legends only in their own mind!!

I really wish a few people would be fired....specifically Tom Sandoval.

I used to watch this show religiously. Then Tom Sandoval got a raging case of Main Character Syndrome and I just had to stop. I absolutely cannot stand him. He thinks he is gods gift to women, men, friends and most importantly this show. I haven't watched this show the last couple of years specifically bc of him.

The way Tom Sandoval speaks to women drives me absolutely nuts. It wasn't enough to fast forward past him.

If Tom were fired I would start watching again. I wish he were gone and Stassi & Jax were were back along with their partners. Tom needs a wake up call. He is not the center of the universe and there are many, many fans of this show that feel the same.

Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)

Complete Rip-Off

I was really excited for this movie. I saw a trailer in fall of 2023 and couldn't wait for this to arrive on Netflix. Before I watched I took a look at IMDB and was shocked how low the score for this movie is. After watching...I'm actually shocked the score isn't lower.

I'm convinced the run time of this movie would be about 30 minutes shorter if it wasn't for all the slow-mo b#llsh!t.

As my title states, this movie is such a rip off as other reviewers have stated.

Harry Potter wants it hippogriff back (buckbeak). Star Wars wants all its ships back. Halo wants their guns. The Nazis want their uniforms. Star Wars also wants several of their characters returned. The Magnificent 7 wants their merry band of misfits. There are so many "borrowed" ideas it doesn't feel original at all. Zack Snyder himself imagined this as a Star Wars film and also admitted "borrowing" elements from many different films. Borrowed or more like fully stole. So the film is one big Deja Vu and not in a good way.

Major Missed Opportunity

What an absolute major missed opportunity...

Firstly, I'm just gonna put it out there. I don't like Michelle or Jay. They act like they are gods gift to this game. Without them everyone would be lost, they are the center of the universe. The last season I watched Michelle, she extremely paranoid. Made up stories in her own head. She ruined her own game and took down many others with her paranoid delusions. Jay is just boring. I get he is self-conscious that he's going bald but dude needs to cut his hair (it would look better shorter, even tho I like long hair on guys he doesn't pull it off) and BURN THOSE STUPID SOCK CAPS!

As for the self-proclaimed queen bee....what a HUGE missed opportunity to put her in the ring against Cara Maria and have a puzzle! Wtf producers? What were you thinking???? How amazing would a physical comp had been leaving Michelle out, sent home! The house would have been in pandemonium (according to the alliance) and we would have went from a snooze fest to good, exciting tv. Who would stick together? Who would form new alliances? Would a new group come into power? It would have made for much better tv to actually cause CHAOS! Nope boring same old same old. Missed opportunities to put Michelle in with Laurel and CM and both times with these two powerhouse women you chose a puzzle...eye roll!

If Jay & Michelle are the new faces of The Challenge I'm fine with not having Paramount+. I had been really annoyed that MTV was putting so much of their content on Paramount. I have watched Real World since its very first episode in NYC. I've watched several seasons of Road Rules and every single season of The Challenge. Moving all this content to paid streaming is garbage in my humble opinion but if this is the way it's going I'm not paying and it seems I won't be missing anything.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey (2009– )

Stopped watching because of Teresa

I stopped watching this a few years ago specifically because of Teresa. I really thought once Teresa came back from camp (ie PRISON) with a new namaste attitude maybe, possibly it could be watchable again but apparently that was very short lived.

Once Teresa threw an entire table worth of glasses/dishes at Margaret and fat shamed her I was done. Her and her abusive, aggressive, husband need to go...right along with her daughters and please, please take Jennifer with her. I don't know how anyone could support this awful woman. She makes the show absolutely unwatchable since every time she is in a group she starts a fight and ends up screaming in her god-awful shrill voice. This show used to be fun to watch...Lifestyles of the rich and famous fun...now it's just horrible, catty, bratty, classless women who act worse than a bunch of 14 year old mean girls.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: A Feisty Fiesta (2023) Season 13, Episode 9

Privilege

Exactly how does a woman in a $4,000 Gucci sweater try to lecture another on their privilege??? Pot meet kettle! Gaslight much? Garcelle is pot stirrer to the highest degree! Bringing the race card into this particular conversation with Dorrit was absolutely NOT necessary, not needed and not warranted. Any time Garcelle doesn't like the conversation or feels she might lose the argument she throws race into the mix which is a very easy way to shut down the conversation. The audacity she had to tell Dorrit she can't say "attacked" (verbally attacked) bc Dorrit is white and you are not 'allowed' to say this to a black woman. Dorit's family is Jewish...yes a lot of privilege marching into a gas chamber or going to a concentration camp. Dorit has been robbed not just once but twice this year at gun point, guess that's more privilege.

Please can we get rid of Garcelle and her little bully in crime Sutton and keep Annemarie and Nia (Bill Burr's wife). Sick of both Garcelle and Sutton!

Halo (2022– )

Good/Bad

I've played this game since it first came out on Xbox....i actually prefer Gears if I'm being honest (Gears of War). I'm now on the 4th episode and yes it deviates quite a bit from the game & that's actually understandable and bearable. However, the character Kwan is extremely, extremely unlikable!!! This series, so far, would be so much better if Master Chief, would have followed orders!

Kwan couldn't understand why when she gave a massive middle finger to her recusers why anyone could or would possibly ever want her dead! Wow couldn't possibly imagine! When she says she is going to lie on a massive broadcast why they would possibly ever want to permanently silence her, couldn't imagine. This show would be so much better without her trying to get everyone around her dead for her own selfishness, recklessness and irritating mouth!
