I See You (2019)
A solid THRILLER!
This is an excellent movie!
Its a very thrilling movie with really good twists. Through out there aren't any significant low paced parts, it's a good ride through the mishaps of the people involved.
But calling this a horror movie will make some people disappointed. What a horror movie is. Is not always so well defined. People expecting supernatural phenomena will be let down, This movie is all natural, even if the characters aren't always the nicest ones. .
The use of time jumps are very well preformed. Even though its not an all linear story it's easy to follow and will add to the good twist.
Talk to Me (2022)
Really high quality
This movie is a rare gem. It's been a long time since there was a horror movie this well made.
Iam a big fan of really scarry horror. I can't stand artsy horror or slow burners. Lately that has been all that has been made. But this one stands out for real. A new take on the classic invited evil spirit. We follow a group that looses control. The tension builds up as all things goes south. It's refreshing with all of these never seen before actors. We get thrown between the different realities and its hard to know what is reality and what's not. This stands out as a really top movie these last years.
First Reformed (2017)
Bad labeling
This is nothing of a thriller movie. It's a drama about environmental issues. And one tragic event, but that's all. Just a lot of arguing reasoning and repetitive nonsense. This movie has made me disappointed. It's quite common to label a movie as a "thriller"just because there might be one or two disturbing scenes. In my opinion, that's better handled in the parental guide. This is a slow drama with som artsy parts and maybe a disturbing scene. No tension no suspense, just inner conflicts of a troubled servant and a grieving widow.
Ending is abrupt and confusing.
Well played and acted though.
The Deep House (2021)
Ridiculous!
I talked to my daughter on the subject Recent movies. She had seen an utterly stupid one this week, I replied that so had I. I asked if it was a Netflix one ofc she replied. We had both been watching this monstrosity.
I'm a big fan of horror movies. I can accept everything from ghosts to talking trees as long as it somehow makes sense in the story. But this is by far the worst attempt on trying to make even the slightest sense. As for camera quality and those issues I can't complain. The actors are too trying their best to make it look like they believe in this script. But with a story so shallow as this, all hope is gone.
A Good Woman Is Hard to Find (2019)
A brilliant revenge
This masterpiece is both a thrilling suspense movie and a really good revenge movie. This movie kept me on my feet al the way through, This kind of movie could easily become like most TV-movies or Netflix dull productions, but this one stands out. It does not fall in to the pit of time wasting that only serves too prolong the suffering. Instead this one is told in a ggod pace and with no logical gaps. I truly loved it!
The Empty Man (2020)
Silly movie
Just silly, Palin as that!
Absolute waste of time.
Total lack of plot.
Among the worst movies I've seen.
Low budget B-movie.
Nothing new herw, at all.
Just pure emptyness.
The Accountant (2016)
Absurdly good!
I'll split this revue in to three parts. Facts, geniousity and pure entertainment.
Facts: The description of a truly autistic kid is made with pure brilliance.
Geniousity: The plot ads up! There is no disturbing errors at all.
Entertainment: A really action packed gem! A total thrill, a lot of brutaliyt, a lot of tension and excitment. Actualy, this is a master piece.
Doctor Sleep (2019)
A Masterpiece!
Those horror movies, they never seem to hold up, they allway loose their grip somewhere along the way. A neat way to deal with this is to make it a shorter movie, 80-90 minutes, then you can afford to keep the suspence throughout. But, those gems are rare, those that manage to keep us on the edge for one and a half hour or so.
This piece of art manage to smack you up good! It does so without you having to wait for the next blow, it just rages at you and that for two and a half hour straight!
I've seen a lot of horror movies, I mean a lot, there was a time when I had seen every one rated 4.0 or higher here on IMDB, that was about 2012. But this one is absolutely the most intense horror movie I've ever seen.
Villains (2019)
Fairly decent and entertaining
A good movie, good paceing anf a few laughs.
Acting is absolutley top class.
The story takes a few Good turns.
Bottom of the World (2017)
Nothing for us plain people
This is a pretentious and obscure movie.
I didn't really get the plot of the ending.
Don't misjudge me, I'm a big fan of thrillers and horror, bit this piece wasn't for me.
I wouldn't recomend it to anyone else as plain as me.
Us (2019)
At last, a really good horror movie!
The horror genre has been crippled by low budget and stereotypes. This one is really proofing that there is still som vivid creativity in this abused genre. Us is a fantastic movie that keeps surprising its audience. The ending is somewhat confusing at first but after some time it gets obvious. Well, I wont spoil it all, but I can really recomend this title, but be warned, it´s a real horror movie that want's to scare you.
Edge of Fear (2018)
Stupidity!!!!!
Lust!
Bad acting!
Cheap and simple!
Predictable, worthless...
All are words that describes this flick.
Calibre (2018)
Quire a thrill
Saw this on Netflix. Didn't expext much, but got surpriced. It is a true gem. It keeps it's tension throughout with new twists untill the ens.
The Jacket (2005)
Truly a gem
I didn't expect much from this one. Saw it a thursday evening on Viaplay. But I was absolutely stunned by the combination of thrill and feelgood. At first the movie seems to go the standard way, you think you know what will happen, but then everything turns around and that's where it got me! I think this is a gem that deserves to be watched.
El incidente (2014)
Do you like movies that repeats itself? Then you'll love this one!
I saw this one on Netflix tagged thriller. That was absolutely wrong labeling! There is nothing thrilling about this movie. The idea of this film is good, but when everything gets in a loop and we never get out of it, well for me it gets dull and boring. There is something going on in the movie, but that never gets explained or even feels logical. It's an arty movie, good photography and beautiful locations. It is probably a deep and intellectual plot which I didn't get. I'm just a normal guy who likes thrilling movies and this one didn't get anywhere near that. I would like to get a refund for a spoiled Sunday evening!
The Man in the Wall (2015)
Bad labeling and bad story
This movie is labeled "Thriller" here on IMDb, I saw this movie om Netflix where it even was labeled "Horror". Nothing could be more wrong. It is a Drama, nothing else. A drama where dialog is everything. And still, it's a rather lousy drama too. This movie is not a thriller nor a good drama, it's just a very slow and dull movie. It did not leave me with any other feelings than that of wasting my time.
Pressure (2015)
Poor
This review contains huge spoilers. Saw this movie in hope of a thrilling claustrophobic experience. But this was a disappointment. First of all the plot feels thin. Why is there a oil pipeline on the ocean floor outside Somalia? Why would a ship ever have thrown anchor in these pirate infested waters? Then the real crimes against the laws of nature begins. One of the divers has brought a bottle of shampoo in to the diving bell. A bell where there are no visible reasons to bring any hygiene products at all. When starting to descend another diver warns him about the risk of having it explode! because the increased pressure in the bell. That would of course only make the bottle less likely to leak. But the moment after the diver opens the lid and gets sprayed with shampoo. When finally ascending they argue about the risk of the bell not being capable of handling the shift in pressure. Most likely, the bell will be okay with a decreased pressure. Like this the movie goes on with total ignorance of what is realistic in a deep sea adventure. Just a waste of time in my opinion.
Ender's Game (2013)
Excellent!
I read this book a few years ago. I can agree with the fact that some parts are left out, but that's just the way movies has to be made. When you only have around 2 hours to tell a a story that took around 8 hours to read, you have to cut stuff out. Having that said, the makers has done a great job to select what parts that should be in the film. It's a total blast of effects that truly does the books descriptions justice. I can't imagine any other way to do this film and make it more like the book.
So despite having parts of the text left out and some parts cut a bit short, it's a very good adaptation of the book!
