The Prestige (2006)

Superb!
25 October 2006
This movie is pure genius from the story to the directing to the acting.

It entertained and bewildered me and finally crescendos into a PERFECT MASTERPIECE!

This is one of my all-time favorites.

I saw THE ILLUSIONIST which I also liked and even thought it was better half way through this one. But I was fooled. I have only received such a feeling after a movie finished when I saw The 6th Sense.

I will see this movie at least 3 times.

Using science fiction to reel us in!!
3 May 2005
The movie starts out wonderfully with great concept then they get to outer space and the movie DIES! The writer takes huge jabs at the God of the bible and thinks his entire audience approves of it. At the 1/2 point of this boring movie I walked out with my 5 year old son and a man in my same aisle looked at what I was doing and said aloud, "your right this movie SUCKS!" If you go see this one they really got your money for no exchange of GREAT entertainment. The lowest I ever gave a movie I believe is a 4 and this I gave a 1 if there was negative numbers I might consider it.

Don't even wait for rental on this one.

Regards, Randy

Great Concept poor results

Very intriguing concept but it really never took off for me. The movie needed to start out with a few mini stories of people really excelling in this virus enhancement. Example show a man in a bar fight destroy 4 men because he has the adrenaline virus then Flash to scene where woman excels in debate for governor spot because she just consumed the word power virus with a mix of Charisma.

The movie took 10 minutes to explain a 5 minute scene. I'm a video editor by trade and 99% of the time admire the great work of credit intros but this one was awful and many times you could not read the text for it was so small.

Sorry I love Tim Robbins but he just did not save this movie.

More of the real story
12 October 2002
I love Veggie tales. I looked forward to this one. However, It was a big mistake to have two stories in one. They should of concentrated more on the story itself (Jonah). Maybe spend more time on the city of Ninevah and it's civilians. Also the worst scene was inside the bellyof the fish. They did this gospel choir song that was 3 minutes toooooo long. I personally liked "Esther" better! It told more of the story in one half hour then Jonah did in one and a 1/2 hours.
