An Excellent Movie
26 July 2008
This movie is an extremely psychologically thrilling horror movie that will keep you hooked and involved for the entire duration. The acting is wonderful, the score is one of the best in the world, and the script is one that would easily match Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. Ryuhei Kitamura really did an excellent job with this movie and I would recommend it to anyone who does not get scared to easily. For everyone who loves a good horror film this will be your favourite movie of the 2008, if not this whole decade, which has been lacking good horror films. I am so glad I got a sneak peak at the Fantasia Festival in Montreal, you all are going to love it when it gets its theatrical release! - http://www.gemizo.net

A Brilliant Movie, Despite What Everyone Says
26 July 2008
Now let me get something straight before I start this review. I am no Mummy Fanboy, I just love getting to see movies before the mainstream does. I always attend film festivals in North America and Europe. I enjoyed the first two, but thought them a bit violent and not comedic enough for a children's film (come on, you know they are for children). This one is full of fantasy violence and is considerably more funny than the first or second one. Beautiful scenery, and beautiful action sequences make this movie one of the best of this year. The plot follows that the Mummy hunters from the last movie (Rick, Alex, Evelyn, and Jonathan) go to China to stop some disturbed mummy emperor. Without much blood and gore this is a great movie to take your kids too, but it might be a bit scary. The only thing holding this movie from getting a ten is the slightly weak acting, and bad scripting (though it is funny). I would recommend it to everybody who has a sense of humour. - http://www.gemizo.net

WOW, the best movie of 2008, if not the best movie of all time
26 July 2008
This has to be the greatest film I have ever seen. I keep thinking that it might be the shock from just coming back from the cinema and seeing it, but I doubt any of my old favourites (Shawsank Redemption, The Godfather, Star Wars) will surpass this in the future. This movie is more gruesome and dark than the first one, but in so many ways better. The acting is spectacular, the script is brilliant, the special effects are...special, and I am not being sarcastic or anything. My only slight complaint is that the film is a bit violent for a film originating from a childish comic book and the violence should have been toned down a bit. Nonetheless the film is a masterpiece that should be watched by everybody. - http://www.gemizo.net

A Mediocre Movie
5 July 2008
I watched this movie the other day and I have to say that it is a rather mediocre movie. Contains some good acting by Murphy and Banks but otherwise the acting is subpar and the humour is rather disappointing. However mildly entertaining this film is, you got to start wondering if the studios have just ran out of ideas, as this film is the latest in a trend of modern, predictable movies.

Not to say this movie is bad. It is entertaining and will give you a few smiles, perhaps a chuckle or two, and is worth watching, but don't enter the cinema expecting something magnificent. The plot is disappointing, the humour is okay, the acting is good, so in the end this movie gets an overall average mark 5/10.
