Mindtrip.

So I had never heard about this film but decided to see it after I saw it On the Neon Roster of Films after I saw the brilliance of PIG.

What is the TRUE meaning behind the film & bonkers Script ?

In my opinion after I finished watching it just now for the first time.

I think it's about Abuse & especially against Domestic abuse against Women and them fighting back.

Also somewhere about Corporations Vs the Environment and Mother Nature trying to Protect her Children No matter how messed up they we all are !!

I don't know it's what I derived & inferred from this film.

Maybe I am Wrong.

Let me know if you see this and feel the same.

Made me Cry this Film.
4 April 2021
This Film has been staring at me on Amazon Prime for over a year !

I just did not bother with it honestly because of the name & well I don't know why, seemed silly commercial with that BLUE looking Cover Jacket.

Today I happened to click on it by sheer mistake & thought well lets see what its about will give it 10min.

I do not remember the last time I had tears in my eyes watching a film ....this one brought a tear in my eye thrice.

Watch it especially for that Brilliant FLASHBACK ACT 2.

Blew me away.

Just saw this today at the Mumbai Film festival and it seems like a it was a World premiere in Mumbai ( so proud to know that) by the date of release at the Mami film festival. Sat on the theatre steps and watched it. Just Blown away. No spoilers but simply put, William Dafoe after the brilliant Eternity's Gate / The Van Gogh Biopic, deserves the Oscar for this he truly does. It borders of Brilliant Madness this film & piece of Cinema. Lush Cinematography makes you feel like you are truly in some Vintage Time Era. The Director, I have not seen his earlier work but i am sure he is a Mad Brilliant too. Love from India.

If you are not American, you need to have Context before seeing the Film.

Warning: Spoilers
Once upon a time in Hollywood ....... it's when this title comes on at the end of the film, is when you get it & it hits you the film so beautifully. DO Not watch it if you are not aware of the Sharon Tate Murder or The manson family ( read up and then go watch the film). I met friends outside the theatre in Mumbai, who did Not know anything about it & I assume most people outside the USA might not be aware of Sharon Tate or Roman Polanski for that matter hence had no idea of the case and were confused and lost Contextually about the Plot. Luck for me, I had just finished watching Mind Hunter Season 2 and was refreshed about all the details about the infamous case and the haunting memory it holds in America. This is in most probability going to be considered #Tarintinos most Indulgent and if i may be honest most Boring film and the most Unlike film he has ever made as an Auteur. On a personal Note being an Actor in Mumbai & someone who is Obsessed with the 1950's & 1960's of USA , I admit i too was bored most of the first half of the film wondering what is he doing has he lost his touch or has he just made a bad film in which he has lost the PLOT !!!! No.......... what he does is put you in an existential kind of a non Cinematic Universe of the life of a TV actor in that first half of the film and those times, he really puts you in there in that time on that street, in a home, in a movie theatre in the late 1960's in a way I think no other Filmmaker ever has..... least of all you would expect that from Quentin Tarantino as a Filmmaker, its very UN-Tarantino territory rather unique approach of the daily life in the 1960's of an Actor in Hollywood and then he shows how the Hippie Movement crumbles on its own idea. There is a beautiful release towards the end thanx to both the leading men.......but I end this very personal review with the words, #OnceuponaTimeinHollywood by #QuentinTarantino

Warning: Spoilers
this just happened to come on HBO.....one of those days that out of all the multitude of channels i decided to stop at one n watch a film......superbly made......think of it as a kind of a darker n pretty well made film like the social network.... fantastic use of music......n a brilliant close up cool performance by josh harnett . Some amazing scenes like the one between him n his parents....also the the one with his girlfriend when he tries to win her back " Brutal honest Truth"......but yeah the best is the one with David bowie that "s like a moment you would not expect in many films as an ending to your central protagonist......!!!

what a brilliant insight into the real India.
14 August 2012
i am from India.....n believe me the first 30 min of this film is the most authentic vision of small small town/villages India you will see on film......i mean even i being an Indian cannot go into that psyche....well maybe because i am just way too urban.....but hats off to the director what an acute observation of the country so very real n authentically shot.......high praise....and its a real good film.....pretty existential from the central characters point of view.....n yes his vision of mumbai again spot on its how it is to a very large extent the way you see it in this film....well made mediative piece of filmaking......have not read the book so cant compare it in that regard....and yes defiantly the only good acting frida pinto has done in a really long time.

What a lyrical n beautiful film.....n this is not the Iran of Kiarostami, Majid Majidi or Makhmalbaf !!!
12 August 2012
just could not believe that this is a film made by a first time filmmaker......it seemed more like someone who knew his craft of making film rather well....a director well into his 3rd film.....keeping aside the fact its a little confusing in its love & sex angles......which is just the icing on this delicious cake that lies within this film.....the icing being of course Sarah Kazamey as Shireen....she is defiantly going to be the next Monica Bellucci mark my words !!!But what stood out in the film for me was the underground Party scene of Iran and the appropriate use of music to describe it......i guess most people in the west cannot fathom people in eastern( i am from India) or middle eastern countries having a cool time.....well they do n they know how to given the CirCumstance !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i read the reviews of some people above dishing the film....i mean if you want a film about Iran that is a documentary well then please turn on your respective News Channels or better still plz revisit n read the the summary above.....This film is a Lyrical Drama poetically shot....hats of to the Cinematographer/ DP( lots of cool wong kar wai style moments original in their own unique way).....superb acting by everyone i loved the actor who played Atafeh's father splendid father daughter understanding of a relationship depicted in this film in such a mature n modern way seldom seen in countries where women are meant to be locked up....being an aspiring filmmaker i loved this film by a first time director 5 stars for a fabulous debut.....n yeah for the guys ditching the film take a closer look guys.....n see the nominations & awards and this is her first film !!!
