Don't listen to the hate
I don't usually write reviews but I find the hate for this film shocking. Actually I find it depressing.
I think some people's political and social leanings are blinding them in rage.
My kids love it. They've been to the cinema to see it twice. They constantly listen to the soundtrack and know all the words and always asking when it's coming on Disney+.
Who really cares what I think, or any middle aged middle- anywhere person thinks, really?
It's not the best most original story or Disneys best but it's still pretty damn good.
Keep your mind and heart open and you will probably love it too.
Dasatskisi (2020)
A beautifully shot and acted nightmare
Uncomfortable to watch almost throughout with an underlying tension, like a low sustain. It's shot in a fairly unique, beguiling and beautiful style.
The lead actress especially acts with incredibly rawness, fitting with the inherent rawness of the film.
A hard to watch artistic film and maybe not for everyone, but it has stuck with me.
Yesterday (2019)
A Heart and Soul Warming Film
Being a massive Beatles fan and a mediocre musician is was hard not to love this film.
It was a little slow in the middle and there was a few things such as Kate McKinnon who was just a bit over the top from a satiricall point of view...but on the whole it was a heart and soul warming film about arguably the most important musicians of all time.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
C'mon, it's not THAT bad
I get it. Star Wars mega fans of the original trilogy are going to hate this. I wouldn't count myself in that club but i'm a big Star Wars fan and actually of all three trilogies, but importantly, in different ways. They weren't just about different era's in a galaxy far far away, they were actually filmed and acted in different eras.
This film and the trilogy have a lot of flaws, that's for sure. However, they have a lot going for them too IMO. As a standalone film and certainly as a standalone trilogy these would not be getting destroyed as it is now, in fact it would be lauded. That's how all film should be judged.
