Frozen (I) (2013)
Fun Children's Movie!
7 June 2014
Frozen is not the best Disney or Pixar movie by far but it is a very good movie and one of the best of recent years, it definitely deserves an Oscar compared to some of the other recent animated movies that have come out.

The film is an animated movie version of Han Christian Andersen's story "The Snow Queen", however little of the finished film seems to be related to this story, it is more of just a jumping off point for the story tellers.

The story is about two sisters, one who eventually becomes queen and one who is her younger sister, a princess. The Queen has the magical ability to make it snow and to make things frozen. It is a dangerous power she can't control and she ends up having to go off into the woods to live alone because she could kill everyone otherwise. Her sister Elsa goes off to find her leaving a stranger in charge (for some strange reason, why would she do this?) and meeting her love interest.

The effects are great and it is a very good story, especially for children, but there are some logic flaws and it is just not quite good enough to be an excellent movie. Totally worth seeing though, especially on the big screen if you have the chance!

Laughs, Laughs & Laughs
7 February 2014
This is a classic comedy movie and clearly one of the all time best films of the genre ever made. John Huston made a lot of great movies in his day and this one is easily my favourite. His movies with John Candy are all great but this movie goes above and beyond the others with great performances.

Steve Martin is excellent in this as the lead who is a nice guy and very accommodating but he just has a hard time putting up with this man who he has been thrown into a travel adventure with. Stuck on the road and just trying to get home for Thanksgiving he buddies up out of necessity with John Candy.

John Candy is a loudmouth, belching, messy slob but I love that he is played not as a jerk but as a guy with a heart of gold who really cares about others and means the best. So Steve Martin tries his best and feels for him but just can't keep putting up with all the trouble he causes.

That's what this movie does best is it is incredibly funny but also has tons of heart. The ending is great and you really feel for all of the characters.

Give Me My Hour and a Half Back! Awful Even Compared to Other Dane Cook Movies!
21 September 2008
This movie somehow pulls off being both incredibly vulgar yet completely boring and uninteresting at the same time. Basically it's obvious they decided that this trend of vulgar "romantic" comedies (i.e. American Pie) are bound to cash in so they'll just come up with a bunch of vulgar stuff, throw them together in a mixed bag of rail-thin "plot", add in a big name star (Kate Hudson, totally wasted in this) then spew out the result on movie screens and start counting money. Well this movie is going to flop big time, mark my words. When a movie is this bad it will not do well. Word of mouth is more important than I think studios realize, and this movie will not get much of that, if any at all. Advance reviews are atrocious and they should be. This abortion of a movie is one of the biggest wastes of an hour and a half I've ever experienced. Special mention to Dane Cook's completely hammy and painfully unfunny performance. He's trying so hard that it's sad, not delivering even one laugh, and the preview screening I saw was PACKED. It was noticeably silent throughout save for a few embarrassed giggles/immature teenagers laughing loudly at some of the pointless vulgar parts. Isn't Dane Cook's fifteen minutes up yet? He is one of the least funny "comedians" I've ever seen in a movie. Employee of the month was also a travesty.

Girls Will Be Girls (2005– )
Possibly the Worst Show Ever
10 September 2008
Girls Will Be Girls, what can I say that hasn't already been covered by the other comments here? The worst idea for a show, plus the worst performers, plus the worst writing, it all adds up to what Girls Will Be Girls is..... the worst show ever. I can't think of a worse show. I hope the people who made this show (according to this IMDb page it was created by someone named Michelle Shipley but I've never heard of her) is never ever allowed to make a TV show again. I am dumbstruck wondering how this show not only got made in the first place but after they went through with making it they still looked at it and decided it was good enough to put on TV! WTF!
