Visually stunning garbage.

I can't understand the people saying "started great", the first chapter is one of the worst things I've seem lately , may be the worst thing with that kind of budget ever made but then I remember captain Mary sue Marvel and they will hold the prize maybe forever in the high budget woke garbage Olympus; if this was the good part I cant imagine how it can devolve in to something worst but since I'm not a masochist I wont be finding out.

I would advice you >don't waste your time.

But if you have the time watch the first chapter if you can bear it.

Is a useful exercise to see how in the liberal hive mind anyone who has a metaphysical doubt about existence is consider and portray as a barbaric, fanatic lunatic and how scientism has become a religion in itself and as many religions is intolerant and dehumanizes dissidents.

As an American/Venezuelan trap in this socialist hell that is Venezuela today it was an insult to everyone.....

They portrayed Nicolas Maduro the Socialist dictator as a Nationalist and the ;leader of the opposition as a socialist, this is beyond excuse.

Besides that utter disrespectful blow it is technically well done, the acting is good, the script has some holes besides the ones I just pointed out but it is OK

First season was 8.5/10 this one if you are a lefty and can shove the hypocrisy as your double standards allow it will be an 8

To make you an idea the Blair witch Project back in 1999 have an estimated budget of $60.000 so think for ten seconds on that.

$8.000 have to be something like 15 minutes of Brad Pitts's salary and this guy made a movie with that ...I was coming to point out the flaws and now that I know this I only can say this guy is a genius;With that money people these days do not make even a short.

Now the sensation that the movie gave me was that it one of those that can surprise you (my case) or offend you.

It is disturbing ,original and macabre and at the same time deals with a lot of dramatic family issues like secrets and the relationship between parents and sons.

The cast and the acting has some point amateurish but it gave it a touch of realism in it own flaw.The faces in the cast are not the cliché pretty boys kind so it adds something more it remind me of HARMONY KORINE type of cast before Selena Gomez and James Franco.

I recommended this movie to the people that want to see a dramatic thriller with real horror and I advice you not to see trailers go and dive in this one whit confident it will not let you indifferent.

Knowing now about the budget for it originality I give it

Cosmopolis (2012)

WTF master Cronencerg?

I saw in an interview with David Cronenberg in George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight show the host ask him: "I've heard you made the script in 2 days Wow how is that ... Cronenberg response was and I quote: "the word genius comes to mind (in a fun but at the same time cocky way) and then he says no , the book was so good , everything was there.

Now I understand why all the dialogs sound pretentious and over intellectualized , the script and the lack of climax is the problem of this movie. And now I understand why he made it in 2 days , I'm sure as a book is great, but , it seems that he had copy pasted textually all the dialogs , not adapted them to screen and believe me , for me was not a problem of understanding the verbal diarrhea , I even rewind some scenes trying to get the point and I get it , but there was not one :=) I'm not reading a book I'm watching a movie .

Lets name the good things:

For my surprise the best of the film is Robert Pattison performance his distant personality this time was perfect for the character and He has some long takes with excellent actors like Paul Giamaty,Juliete Binoche ,Samantha Morton and never is overshadow by their performances he delivers very well , I never thought he was a bad actor (just the effeminate vampire character hunts he).Another great thing is the supporting cast , beside Sarah Gadon that is beautiful but the character is tasteless but she can act it shows there, but I suppose was the way Cronenberg want it the Characther to be portrait.

At last I'm disappointed and of course I'm big fan of Cronenberg earlier and recent work I like when he get serious like Eastern Promiuses or A Dangerous Method .But this for me was a fail experiment.

But I assure is not as bad as my rating and it have some good moments and things that the Cronenberg fans and another film-goers will like but i'm making a warning with it. Really is maybe 6/10 or 5/10 really, but is a statement and I'm expressing my huge disappointment and all the time I waited for THIS :=( .

1/10 and as Roger Waters wrote on the Wall : Run like Hell....

Pink Floyd: The Story of Wish You Were Here (2012)

As a big fan of Pink Floyd as soon as I saw the release I was excited; I just finished watching it and I love it.

What you will find here is:

Recent new interviews with Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason and some material from Richard Wright before he past and some pictures and archive footage of the Great Syd Barret.

They talk about each song , what it means to them and how it was created ; also Brian Humphries (sound engineer of Wish you were Here) take us through the recording process and Storm Thorgerson talks about the cover and some of the art work.

The band talks about the emotional moment in which Syd appear on Abbey road and at first they didn't recognize him and there's some acoustic playing and singing by Roger and Dave in their interviews.

For the fans it will a nice experience. I'm Happy :=).

When i heard of the Chappelle's Show i saw 1 sketch about a man name Clayton Bigsby a Black white supremacist LOLL! how is that possible? the man was blind and in the shelter for blind kids the nurses and the Doctors decide to tell him that he was white because it would be easier for him with the other kids because he was the only African-American and he grow up to become a white supremacist spokesman, publish 4 books with tittles like (smell like "N" Word) all about white supremacy and in his public appearances he uses the Ku Klux Klan hood so nobody knew that he was black until... Well you have to see it ; But that was it for me ,I'm addicted to his unapologetic ,racist (to all races) stereotypical , dark and clever humor and his impersonations are amazing I just found it

If you are looking for good comedy this is your cup of tea I have stomachache of how much I have laughed in the last 3 hours I just finish first season Buy it ,download it ,youtube it whatever just watch is unbelievable...

As Luck Would Have It (2011)

Master Alex .... What the F ?

Mmmm , What can I say I'm huge fan of Alex de la Iglesia and love in some way almost every film he has made , some more than others of course but at this moment , I was expecting something amazing ; more even after seeing his last film beautifully crafted and visually stunning with an over the top ending but that's something I have learn to accept and even like on his films , I'm talking about The Last Circus (la balada Triste de la Trompeta) after that one , As Luck Would Have It comes as a big disappointment sadly.

The direction is nice nothing you haven't seem before ,the acting is good, but not great, hence to the story line and the script and opposite to the Goyas (something like the Oscars in Spain) I think Salma Hayek in that role seems awkward and out of place.

In general an entertaining flick but very beneath the genius of Alex de la Iglesia.

Plutón B.R.B. Nero (2008–2009)

Great mix of Sci&Fi and Comedy. Alex De la Iglesia does It again.

The series is about a crew that is send in the search for an habitable planet and is the only hope for earth.

Each character is funnier than the other, special mention for the captain play by Antonio Gil and the goofy and hilarious Querejeta play by Carlos Araces (the last circus,Balda Triste De la Trompeta) and the touch of beauty is deliver by a sexy android play by the astonishing Carolina Bang (The Last Circus,Balda triste De la Trompeta).

A very original yet classic take on Sci&Fy and humor. The kind of humor is absurd sometimes dark.

Very clever writing and spoofs of space shows and films.

About the general rating don't mind it in Spain they didn't appreciate it or something like that. I have notice that they are too sever in regard of there own films .

If you like the mix between Scy&Fy and comedy this is what your looking for just try it and you will love the characters and have great fun.

Because I was not expecting much dew to the rating and because De la Iglesia as always delivers 9/10.

The Spirit (2008)

Kill It Before it Breeds...

Let's start here : Frank Miller did not direct sin city this is the prove ,the other 2 credits for direction in sin city are for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino ; maybe the visual style is his idea but here directing alone we notice that was the hand of the other 2 masters the one that gave life to sin city.

This movie is ridiculous in so many ways , terribly over-acted and went it tries to be funny it finish being awkward to watch, the dialogs and the poor script are awful and the "comedic" action scenes plus the cartoon sounds please , REALLY ? .

what a way to waste a big budget and a promising cast , even the editing is awful.

Avoid by all means this joke , it made look Waterworld by Kevin Costner like a masterpiece if you compare to something bad that already happened with a big budget.

Maybe the worst movie I've seem at least with this budget 60.000.000 $ WTF?

Changing Lanes (2002)

I was so terribly Wrong ...

Don't worry the Spoiler is at the end and I'll warn you.

So I wasn't expecting anything , to the matter of fact i was expecting something awful , boring and very commercial , but wait, I was so so Wrong this is a dark clever film , very well acted A surprise for me because if Ben Affleck is in a movie I think twice before I watch it (but I have to recognize lately he has being all right) and Samuel Jackson after snake on a plane I don't know what to expect but they did great.

The script is very clever , dark and original the directing is nice nothing you haven't seem before but all properly crafted, the rest of the cast is solid and how could you go wrong with Sydney Pollack , William Hurt ,Tonni Collete ,Richard Jenkins...

At the end I recomed this film specially if you catch it by surprise like me give it a change You'll not regret.

The only think I would have change is the end and I'm not saying is bad the one that the movie have , but it makes it alittle commercial , but at the same time it makes it fair; and that is a contradiction because one of the points of the story is showing that live isn't always fair. So I would have ended the film when they finish the conversation in the Cofee Shop after the day of all the events 11 minutes earlier that will be the Cannes film festival cut :=) the other one you can take it to Hollywood. Anyways a great surprise.

The Last Days of Emma Blank (2009)

Dark comedy at it best.

I rated so high cause i was not expecting too much , and i had a great surprise.

If i have to describe it in a few words will be: funny and bizarre ,dark and clever.

The acting is superb, the genre is dark comedy and the plot original funny and dramatic.

I'm trying not to spoil anything because you'll be surprise how good is this film.

I will not tell you the details from the plot but , it deals with how much the people is willing to humiliate themselves for the promise of a better future "$".

I laughed like i didn't in quite a while,in a movie with a very disturbing and original plot but at the same time universal.

Buy the DVD, rent it , download it WHATEVER but see it you will not regret.

After i saw it was so interested that i went to IMDb for research about the director/writer and i find that the strangest character is played by him LOLL this guy is a genius.... and as the previous review says he deserves a larger audience.
