Black Rose (2014)
It's not That bad
Com'on people. At least the photography was excellent. Bad script. Acting sans direction or self restraint. But good grief -- does it really deserve all this opprobrium? Shots and angles were often admirable. They found scenes and settings that were quite interesting and occasionally terrific. ... On the other hand, a stage name duplicating the cultural hero of the Russ is deserving of The Donald's approval and accents comparable to Branagh's Shadow Recruit choice are cringe-worthy. Just imagine what people not super self-conscious of being C-lister's could have done with the idea here.
The November Man (2014)
Interesting ONLY for worst writing in this genre ever
Neither Pierce's emphatic nasal exhales nor Olga's terminally skinny beauty are enough to sustain this plot OR the dialog. Vigorous special effects, exciting action sequences, and atypical thrills abound, but the dialog quickly renders them laughable. And how many of your own agency's agents do you have to kill before the ending becomes untenable. Give a high school kid a camera and great actors and this is what you get. Do agents still check this s___ before letting their principles do this s___? Still, it's a hoot. So off-putting as to allow a discerning viewer to play critic. See this with friends in a place where you can loudly mock and have fun. Where was the director?
