Obviously Mike Judge is a comedy genius. He created two smart and hilarious animated sitcoms BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD and KING OF THE HILL. Shows that appeal to both teens and adults. After KING was unfortunately cancelled by Fox (big mistake!), Judge took on another animated sitcom, THE GOODE FAMILY. Like a lot of viewers, I didn't care for the show at first but as I watched a few episodes it started to grow on me. The show is meant to be a political satire taking a shot at liberals and their common environmentally friendly lifestyle however this show takes that lifestyle so far to the point of comedy. I feel that if THE GOODE FAMILY stayed on the air for at least one more season it could developed into a fantastic show that could've become a hit. Did THE SIMPSONS or FAMILY GUY start off great in it's first season? No. Those shows grew over time into their own unique humour and style. So give THE GOODE FAMILY a chance, it's a pretty good show if you take the time to watch all thirteen episodes. Perhaps the show will obtain a cult following! Judge has brought us another brilliant piece of animation, shame that it couldn't last...

Retrospective horror franchise documentaries have become a well known trend in the horror genre ever since HALLOWEEN:25 YEARS OF TERROR was released back in 2006.Since then we have gotten a lesser documentary on the Friday THE 13TH franchise and a fantastic documentary on the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET franchise.Now after 3 long years of hard work,dedication and care we have THE PSYCHO LEGACY.The one and only feature length documentary on the PSYCHO franchise.Audiences were introduced to the franchise back in 1960 when the original Hitchcock masterpiece was released into theatres.It immediately became a horror classic.It made people afraid to take a shower and also afraid of mother loving motel owners.PSYCHO changed the genre forever and influenced a large number of filmmakers like John Carpenter,Brian De Palma,Steven Spielberg,Martin Scorsese and more.Although PSYCHO is a landmark film in not only horror history but also film history in general, the sequels have always fallen behind in terms of attention and praise.As a hard core PSYCHO fan, I always felt that PSYCHO 1-4 were all great films and much better than average horror sequels.I had the same desire that Robert Galluzzo had about wanting to know what happened on the sets of all the PSYCHO sequels.I wanted this documentary to exist and luckily Robg was smart and talented enough to make it happen.
DOCUMENTARY: THE PSYCHO LEGACY opens immediately with the iconic sound of a shower running.Paul Ehlers gives an awesome opening narration.The amazing title sequence designed by Jon Maus brought a smile to my face as it is done in the very style of PSYCHO.He created outstanding graphics for the entire documentary.That made it even more worthwhile to watch.After the title sequence, the documentary starts off with today's horror filmmakers telling why the original PSYCHO is such an iconic film.And I think that's a good way to start off since there's been countless documentaries,books and articles about the original PSYCHO,so why repeat what PSYCHO fans already know? Right after that, we dive into the sequels. The documentary is jam packed with interviews with all kinds of PSYCHO alumni including Tom Holland,Mick Garris,Juliette Cummins,Hilton Green,Sharen Camille,Andrew London,Henry Thomas,Olivia Hussey and more! You get a lot of interesting tidbits from every cast or crew member interviewed. Obviously I don't want to give anything away since some PSYCHO fans haven't seen it yet but believe me you will be very educated about the PSYCHO sequels after you watch this.Not only does THE PSYCHO LEGACY explore all four PSYCHO films it also explores Anthony Perkins and his portrayal of the iconic horror character known as Norman Bates.I thought that the documentary was a very loving tribute to him.Perkins was one of the great actors of all time and he will be remembered not just for Norman Bates but also himself as a person.Diana Scarwid even teared up at the end of the documentary when talking about Anthony Perkins and how he is no longer with us.It came across that he was very important to a lot of people and I thought that was one of the great things about THE PSYCHO LEGACY.Overall, the documentary was fantastic.It was well put together,beautifully scored and brilliantly made.Robert Galluzzo should be very proud of what he has accomplished.He is now apart of PSYCHO history. He put a lot of care and love into this project and he was very successful.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Now if the documentary wasn't enough, you have 3 hours worth of special features.The 41 minute Anthony Perkins Q&A footage is really amazing!! I felt like I was right there at the 1988 convention watching him on stage.It was great that Rob was able to get that footage!! The extended and deleted scenes on Disc 1 were really interesting. You get more great stories from the PSYCHO alumni.I loved watching those!! "The PSYCHO Reunion Panel" was a disappointment since that featurette is nothing but audio and pictures but it's still interesting to watch. "A Tour of the Bates Motel" was also a disappointment since I saw that awhile ago on the official MySpace page."Revisiting PSYCHO II" was a great featurette.It has Tom Holland and Andrew London going through cool PSYCHO II posters,blueprints,scripts,newspaper clippings and more that have been left behind by director Richard Franklin."Shooting PSYCHO II" was an informative interview with cinematographer Dean Cundey about what it was like to film PSYCHO II."A Visit with PSYCHO memorabilia collector Guy Thorpe" was a fantastic featurette that shows awesome PSYCHO memorabilia owned by a die hard fan Guy Thorpe. He even owns the Mother corpse from PSYCHO II !! I'm very jealous!! "PSYCHO on the Web" was an interesting piece on Jason Allentoff's amazing PSYCHO website. "Norman Bates in Print" was an awesome featurette on Robert Bloch's PSYCHO novels.Without them we wouldn't have the PSYCHO franchise!! And finally"The Hyaena Gallery Presents: Serial Killer Inspired Art" was disturbing but fun. Overall, the special features were very pleasing to me as a PSYCHO fan. Rob was very creative with them since he could only use footage from the movies in the actual documentary.I thought they were great and as I said before very creative.

As many horror fans now, a new sub-genre (if you will) has started in the horror genre.The retrospective documentary on famous horror franchises.There's been one for Friday The 13th,A Nightmare on Elm Street,Psycho and there's even one in production for Hellraiser.But it all started with Halloween:25 Years of Terror.Production for this documentary started back in October 2003 when the H25 convention was happening.It's great to have footage from the convention to go along with the documentary.P.J. Soles does a great job of narrating.She has a natural speaking voice that is nice to listen to.With this documentary you get tons of interviews with cast and crew from all 8 films.Even all the actors who played Michael Myers!! It's an entertaining and informative documentary that every Halloween fan should see.Even the hard core fans will find something new.As great as this documentary was, I think it should been way longer than 84 minutes.I also felt that they could have spent a little bit more time on Halloween 3 and 4.But besides that it's a fantastic documentary that lets you explore 25 years of Michael Myers and the Halloween movies!!

With the influence of Halloween: 25 Years of Terror, a group of filmmakers set out to make a Friday The 13th retrospective documentary on the entire franchise.Sadly,these filmmakers failed.First of all, this documentary is all over the place.Rather than explore all the Friday The 13th movies in order, we get several rants from obnoxious horror filmmakers giving their dumb opinions on the films.They barely let anyone who actually worked on the movies talk.There were certain people who did not need to be in this documentary like Steve Barton,Seth Green,Joe Lynch,Adam Green,Jeff Katz,Ryan Turek and tons more people.They do not offer anything about the making of the franchise so what's the point of having them interviewed? Also the heavy metal music is so annoying and painful to listen to!! It was just so horrible to have that music blarring in the background. Also Tom Savini's hosting is very cheesy and annoying. Honestly, he's tries to be funny and entertaining but he fails every time.The special features on the second disc were actually better than the documentary itself. At least we get to hear the cast and crew actually speak!! This was just a horrible documentary that could have been so much better.But as horrible as it was, it was still a slightly entertaining look back on the Friday The 13th franchise. But if you want a real retrospective on the series, get the CRYSTAL LAKE MEMORIES book instead!

To be completely honest, I'm not that big of A Nightmare on Elm Street fan but I heard good things about this documentary so I decided to order it.I watched it all the way through without pausing it or taking any breaks because Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy is a very entertaining documentary.It's edited in a fantastic way, it's got interviews with almost everyone that made the franchise possible and it has great cinematography!! It also has amazing stop motion animation sequences for not only the opening but for separating the segments. I've actually now become a fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise after watching this.This documentary will definitely please Elm Street fans everywhere. It's just a fantastic thing to watch.You will not find a more in depth retrospective on the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise then this documentary!! I highly recommend it!!

I've been a fan of The Simpsons for many years.I own all the season box sets that have been released so far,countless Simpsons toys and action figures. So being a Simpsons fan I tuned in last night to "The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special In 3D On Ice". It was a great documentary that not only examines the history of the show but it's devoted fans.After seeing all the hardcore fans in this documentary, I knew I wasn't the ultimate fan.The only problem I have with this documentary is that Dan Castellaneta only appeared once.I mean come on he portrays one of the funniest characters in TV history and he only appeared once!! But besides that this was a well made documentary that should be seen by every Simpsons fan.
