Zeruda no densetsu: Toki no okarina (1998)
Great Game
This game in my opinion is the greatest thing (other than goldeneye) that Nintendo has ever came out with. For its time this game had revolutionary graphics, an amazing story, and deep creative game play. This is again in my opinion the best Zelda game ever made, and none of the others can even hold a candle to it. Although the story is relatively short, and most of the dungeons are simple (excluding the water and shadow levels) this game is amazing. The story itself is an epic master piece and the world is huge and full of amazing land scape's, from the top of a volcano, into the forests, Fields, deserts, and sewers, and even to the bottom of a lake. The exploitation of time travel and converting yourself from a seven year old to a seventeen year old was a great idea, and its interesting to see how the 10 year change affects the lives of the Npc's in the game. The bosses are interesting, well designed and very creative and the dungeons are great and full of puzzles that make you think. The final dungeon, Gannons Keep, is a little short but it fits the story well. And Gannondorf himself is a great boss, although repetitive he is fun to fight. This is probably the only game where the final boss is defeated through a game of tennis with a glowing energy ball. After defeating Gannondorf and escaping his castle it is revealed he is still alive and he turns into a dragon (techincally a Moblin), meaning you have to fight him again. Although he is somewhat annoying at times if you don't have any arrows or the Gorron sword it is still a great finale. Once defeating him you are even rewarded with a montage of what seems like ever character in the game (that isn't evil) dancing to the familiar lost woods theme. The only two tings that bother me about this game are 1) King Zora does not seem in the slightest worried about his daughters ware abouts after you unfreeze him in Zoras Domaine, once your an adult and 2) As with all stories involving time travel there is the fact that after you defeat Gannon and Zelda sends you back in time so you can relive your ten lost years, that by doing this she would ultimately undo everything you did and let Gannon free again. But i assume that might be prevented from him not actually being dead but sealed in the "Spirit Realm"... Great game!
GoldenEye 007 (1997)
Greatest Shooter Ever
We've all played Halo and Socom and GTA and Resi etc. but none of them can stand up to GE007. The game itself is great. I have literally burned out my N64 playing this great game, along with Zelda OOT. This game along alone built the mold that is essential for all modern shooters. on top of that the multi-player is great. The Story mode itself is worth playing a hundred times over and more. Its a great game for when your board and you want to just shoot up some people and there are endless unlock ables. (cheats, Aztec, Egyptian, god knows how many Multiplayer charries, and the three difficulties as well as the famous '007' difficulty Our modern games are great but when you sit down and play this game you get a certain feeling that few other games can give you. And with the Online capabilities of newer shooting games we rarely see this old two on two death match style. and when we do its no where near as good as this games. And when you get bored of the story, there are endless mysteries, glitches and easter eggs to be found and taken advantage of.
This is definitely one of the greatest shooting games of all time.
