Creepshow 3 (2006)
Might be the worst movie I've ever seen
I've seen some really turkeys, but this one may be the worst I've seen. Horrible acting, direction, story, everything. The co-directors should be beaten with a stick. I thought Creepshow 2 wasn't so great, but at least it had one kind of cool story, ("The Raft/Lake" ). This installment doesn't have a single even mediocre story. Its bad by even direct to video standards. They are all downright bad, silly and a total waste of time. It was funny that they even had a behind the scenes , under extra material for this DVD. To see the directors and actors praise each other was too funny. The bonus materials should have consisted of profuse apologies from everyone involved. Seriously, i hope these writers and directors never get work again.
Jisatsu sâkuru (2001)
Unique for sure, but disappointing ending
Well, i usually enjoy a good depressing movie, and even I found this one too depressing for my tastes. It is a major downer. Its got a lot of sick stuff in the movie, and i was willing to deal with that if it had some kind of a payoff. But what am I to make of the ending? This daasert group is somehow subliminally convincing people to kill themselves? I guess the implication is that everyone at the end of that final concert will kill themselves? I don't know, it just didn't have a feeling of closure with that movie, and after watching that much blood and mayhem for 1.5 hours, i was hoping for a better ending.Anyhow, if you don't like seeing a bunch of cute schoolgirls kill themselves, watch a mother cut her fingers off while her child watches, or see some psycho stomp in dogs/cats inside of pillow cases, skip this one.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1988)
If you watch this movie, you'll never want to read the book..awful
I'm a fan of the series and have read all 7 books. I wanted to see this just to see how it was done. All i can say, is that the only people who should watch this are ones who have already read the series and are curious about it. Its pretty bad, and will turn you off reading them. Not to be mean, but Lucy is so ugly it detracts from the movie. Was she the directors daughter? Seriously, I'm sure the beavers in the movie were jealous of her teeth. She had an overbite that would put any beaver to shame. The movie just loses so much in translation. CS books don't translate as easily as the Tolkein LOTR books, or even Harry Potter.
One thing they did right! Aslan! very well done. Although the other human actors with painted faces ( beavers, wolf) look silly, Aslan was really well done since it was not just a human actor walking around. ( i guess its like that old horse custume? 2 people inside? ) Also, i would be curious what kids think of this movie. Maybe they would enjoy it? But as for adults, safe bet they wont, even if a CS fan.
Wendigo (2001)
What a piece of crap
Was hoping it was something like the WEndigo story from the X-men series ( which was really cool. BAck in JOhn Byrne days of Xmen). Anyhow, was nothing like it. Not scary, just plain stupid. Writer/Director should be flogged. Story definatly had potential, and how many movies out there deal with American Indian curses/legends? Not many. A wealth of storylines and ideas out there, just need to be done right.
