If you aren't in the target audience of a movie, please don't argue that it's dumb. Honestly, that only makes you look like an idiot. You are entitled to your opinion, whether it be to love or hate the movie, but please don't trash those who feel differently. Debate with, yes. Bad mouth, no.
I am a proud eighteen-year-old fan of the Disney Channel. I adore The Suite Life and Wizards of Waverly Place. I also graduated from high school with a 4.0. I am not dumb.

Halloweentown High (2004)
A fun, enjoyable film
I was never a huge fan of the first two Halloweentown films - the first one felt clumsy and choppy, and the second was just plain dull. I actually prefer Halloweentown High over the others.
First of all, the plot is executed without any awkward dragging bits (think about the long time travel sequence in Halloweentown II, or the anticlimactic ending of the first film). The Halloweentown setting is a good idea that was not used to its full potential in the previous movies. Now, the focus is on the characters, which I think is a great improvement. It lacks visual excitement, but makes up for it in the storyline. And for once, the villain is not a cheesy coot intent on gaining power. His goal is to keep the two worlds separate, not world domination.
Kimberly J. Brown delivers another fabulous performance, and I wish she could have been in the fourth movie as well. Her grandmother is just adorable, flirting with the principle and turning a science experiment into a parrot. Lucas Grabeel, of High School Musical fame, steals his scenes (although I laugh whenever I see his cowboy costume) as the troubled and somewhat annoying Ethan. The only performance I found to be wooden was that of Cody, Marnie's love interest. He seems to have two default facial expressions.
Many critics of this movie have pointed out inconsistencies such as Gwen using magic, or their last name changing. To set things straight, Piper is the last name of Marnie's human father, so she and her siblings bear that name. Cromwell is Gwen's maiden name, and the name of the famous family she comes from. Marnie considers herself a Cromwell now that she has witch powers. As for Gwen and her magic, it's character development. She is beginning to appreciate her background more, and as she accepts the truth about her mother and daughters she begins to accept the truth about herself.
All in all, I enjoyed this movie a lot. 9/10.
Jonas (2009)
Worth a watch if you like the Jonas Brothers
I think this show has gotten too much criticism from people who dislike the Jonas Brothers. It needs to be kept in mind that JONAS was meant to be a kids' show targeted at fans of the boys. At best, JONAS is a kid friendly comedy sure to draw in young and old fans alike. I won't trash it - this is just my opinion.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the Jo Bros, but I am a fan of the Disney Channel in general. I'm eighteen years old and I still love watching shows like The Suite Life and Wizards. They have appealing, original characters, and the situations, while unbelievable, are engaging and creative. It's easy to get attached to the characters and their world. While I appreciate JONAS as a children's show, I think it lacks those qualities. The situations are used, the humor is trite, and the characters (particularly Macy and Stella) are stereotypical and shallow. It's just my opinion, but I find nothing engaging about their situations. In the last episode I watched the plot revolved around Joe accidentally dying their clothing blue. I was hoping for at least one laugh, but I was instead disappointed by a parade of unfunny jokes.
If you're a fan of Joe, Kevin, and Nick, then I'm sure you'll enjoy JONAS. But if you're simply looking for a quality Disney comedy, I would not suggest this one.
