El prisionero 13 (1933)
Unique representation amongst Fuentes's trilogy
7 March 2009 - 4 out of 4 users found this review helpful.
This is a very watchable film by Fuente's which is unique amongst his revolutionary trilogy as it doesn't focus on historical figures such as Pancho Villa or Emiliano Zapata, but rather centres on a story of corruption which could have been depicted in a time many years earlier or after the war. In this sense it is somewhat of a more timeless tale of the greed and corruption of man. Through a well written script and a superb performance by Alfredo del Diestro El Prisionero 13 is a captivating film which encapsulates the sense of chaos prevalent within Mexican Society at the time of the Revolution through the means of a rather simple and small parable.
