Whirlybirds (1957)
Saturday morning fun...
Sky King, Fury, and the Whirlybirds. I wanna go back.
The Mask (1961)
I too was 8 yrs old..
As one reviewer mentioned earlier, I too was 8 yrs old when I saw this movie. I still remember it to this day. For me, it was the scariest movie that I have ever imagined, even today. The 3D made it 1,000 times as scary. If someone wanted to give me a copy for free today, I wouldn't take it
Suffice it to say, if you want to get completely freaked out, watch this movie.
The Expendables 3 (2014)
Badass old guys!
This is THE Expendable picture you gotta see. This one surpasses 1 and 2 by a wide margin, IMHO. This cast of characters is perfect. They all get their time on screen, and make damned good use of it. Some of them you haven't seen in an action picture in quite some time and a couple, you haven't seen in one at all. They don't miss a beat. Mel Gibson, in particular, steals this film. Action out the kazoo, from opening scene till last. Looking at these guys, we could send them overseas today and they would do some serious damage. I didn't watch 1 and 2 until right before I saw this, just to get a little reference material. Like I said, if you only see one, this is the Expendables to see. The fun, action-packed film of the year!
Lone Survivor (2013)
This movie makes you proud and breaks your heart
Best "war movie" I've ever seen. The casting was spot on, Peter Berg and his crew are geniuses, and the story is both inspiring and heartbreaking. Where do we find men such as these? Maybe it's in all of us, just waiting for someone, or something, to draw it out. God-loving family men who were raised to do special things. I have had the good fortune to meet Marcus, twice actually. Finer, braver men have never lived. These men put everything they had into their duty to this country. Watching this story, I felt proud. I had a lump in my throat the entire movie. I love these guys for what they did, and still do today.
Special men do special things.
