National Lampoon's Repli-Kate (2002)
American-Pie-Style comedy with great american humor
Yes, this comedy is as stupid as any American-Pie-Style movie. But the difference between `Repli-Kate' and others is humor, that became more lambent. This film doesn't try to sway you, `Repli-Kate' is just sexy and funny performance! But there's only one minus - soundtrack is really worthless.
And Ali Landry was at least great! She managed to combine represent two completely different characters: feminine Kate-original and Kate-clone(I really enjoy her dialogues, 'cause of her vocabulary, that contains only phrases from the movies and TV shows). So I think that Ali Landry is very talented young star. She didn't damaged by silly teen comedies and I hope that her following movies would be more serious.
So, 6+/10
The Groomsmen (2003)
Brilliant `A-Little-Smutty' romantic comedy
Humor is simple, but it's very real. I've been laughing all the time. In spite of some cliches, film is really good. And it's not pretending to some `intelligent'-movie, that would move you; just for relaxing. Also soundtrack is chose accurate. Plot is not original, no doubt, but imho that isn't very big minus. So, if you want to watch some fresh and oddball `American-Pie-Style' film - `The Groomsmen' is your choice!
Buying the Cow (2002)
The Abortive Comedy Without Ending
I really didn't like it very much. The whole movie is about NOTHING, the film hasn't got any idea. To tell the truth, it was some faint resemblance to the idea in the beginning (about comparison of women, cows, fishes and about the constant `How To Live?' question), but it completely disappeared. Also, don't you think there are so many movies about `skirt-chasing expeditions', `gay/not-gay' decisions, hopeless persons and stag-parties etc.?! This film would be almost OK, if it were first/second/third/. movie in its category, but now it is just next to nothing. Moreover, the film has no ending. It is a pity.
So, 3/5 or 6/10.
