The Informant! (2009)
A Complete Waste of Time
My wife and I sat in silence together with about 50 other people at the first showing of The Informant in Victoria on Sep 19, 2009. If Silver City Cineplex had offered refunds, we all would have taken them within the first thirty minutes. Notwithstanding Matt Damon and his performance, this is one boring movie. We were left completely without any understanding of the positive comments by some critics or the high star ratings being given this effort. The script is full of holes, the scenes are disjointed and the cast visibly struggles with this awful movie. A big waste of time and talent. At the end, which could not come soon enough, and as the credits rolled, people began looking at each other. Some, like us, seemed to be embarrassed. I asked the couple beside us if they understood or enjoyed the film, and the man said he slept through most of it. The woman said Damon could do anything for her but she really wanted Jason Bourne back.
The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009)
Awful photographic effects
Could possibly get the Razzie for the worst photography in the most incredible scenery in the world. Hand held, zip this way, rip that way, jiggle, flash, focus, unfocus, ............. what is wrong with the director and his photographer and film editor. Absolutely spoiled the film for the headache causing no end of nonsense of jiggle and spinning camera work.
Otherwise rent the original, much better use of time and money. Sorry Denzel, John, John and James.
We went on a matinée with a group of viewers who wanted to enjoy this movie, but all commented on the terrible photographic "effects".
One could tear apart the screen writing and the gaps in the story and the never ending car and motorcycle crashes. John Trav and John Tort deserve more. So did we.
Beer for My Horses (2008)
Worst movie of the century
I cannot believe Tom Skerritt is so broke that he performed in this trash. Let alone Gina Gershon or even Willie Nelson. Well Nelson maybe. Absolutely left us ashamed not to have walked out. Everyone else in the theater felt the same way. What a waste of time. How does anyone raise money for a production as bad as this was? How does anyone waste investing money in this? Does anyone care? We saw this film on the Celebrity Constellation on a Baltic Cruise. Even the Cruise Director was embarrassed when confronted by guests. It's selection was a terrible mistake. Perhaps second place prize would be to force someone to sit through it again. There is no way anyone can find anything good about this film.
