The Big Bang Theory: The Shiny Trinket Maneuver (2012)
Funny but the original bbt is pretty much gone
I have been a fan of bbt ever since the launch of the first episode. i followed every episode and saw that the smart jokes, delivered in the first 2 seasons became less.
This episode was funny without a doubt. but the jokes aren't 'smart' these couple of episodes. too many characters to be seen in 20 minutes which made Leonard and raj near to invisible this episode. Howard isn't gross and disgusting ( though funny ) anymore. Bernadette used to be funny. Now she is taking the role of Howard's mom, which is making her more annoying.
perhaps this is on purpose. making the social awkward geeks more social. but they shouldn't forget raj. he is still there but nothing has been done with him.
Avatar (2009)
a breathtaking movie
i went to see this movie with high expectations. i must say this movie really did not fail to succeed. it took my breath away. the movie is just that amazing. certainly the first time. the movie is just so beautiful created and brought to you. i have yet to see the 3d version of it, but i hope it will be even more amazing then the 2d version. the plot isn't original, looks a lot like pocahontas. but just because the plot isn't original, doesn't mean it is bad, like a lot people say.
imagine the pocahontas movie, but now twice as long, 20 times as beautiful and its realistic. but because this is realistic u don't have the messed up animals that can be funny.
this movie was made to get the people back to the cinemas, and it did not fail.
now, to all the people that gave this movie a 1 or 2. HOW?! if u didn't like the plot or script, fine. but i cant imagine that this movie earns a 1 or 2. i mean this movie LOOKS so beautiful. the way it is made and gets shown to the public. if u rate a movie a 1 or 2, that means the movie was UBER bad, like, everything about the movie sucked. well, i cant believe that anyone, even the haters, think that this movie sucked in every aspect. that just isn't possible with AVATAR.
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
good, but could have been so much more
when i first saw the trailers of inglourious basterds, i thought it would be a hell of an action movie with lots of fun. but i actually was a little bit disappointed.
The movie starts with a long talk...then a very funny/horrible in a good way scene. but this film has to much talking and chatting. i was really bored during some scenes of the movie. the action parts were fun, and brad pitt truly knows how to crack me up. but it wasn't as good as i hoped for.
my rate was 7 out of 10.
you should go and see this movie, cause it really had some good parts. but don't go and expect a entire action movie.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)
this movie was absolutely worth watching
i haven't seen the GI JOE series and everything, so i wont criticize the actually GI JOE fans.
like with transformers, i also haven't seen the series, at least not enough. but i think both movies were great!
GI JOE had it all. it had a lot action with nice special effects.
the acting was OK, not good but it wasn't terrible like some of u say.
the movie was also a lot of fun, i cant remember laughing so hard in a cinema before.
wayans was definitely the best in this movie.
i liked this movie very much for someone that hasn't seen the series, definitely gonna see it again.
Dragonball Evolution (2009)
late comment, but still...Bad!
i just saw this movie yesterday because my friends said its awful. so i went watching the anime series of dragon ball again cause i forgot some. the anime was great and funny. uve probably written this a lot of times, but somehow the director managed to screw this one up pretty good.
first thing, goku is about 16 years old while in the anime he is about 10 years old, and important, he has a TAIL! Gohan is already dead, but in the movie he's still alive and got killed by piccolo. thats not even that worse, it gives some twist to it thats not to bad. ow, and goku is in school. so far the anime goes, he didn't knew there was more then his grandpa until bulma came.
2nd thing, they left out some of the star players in this movie, and made some characters look bad. roshi looks like a complete full. in the anime he is crazy but funny. here he is just and idiot. and where are krillin and tien and tiau zu.
also the containment wave, in the movie they needed some sort of special containment box-thingy. in the anime a bottle was good enough, as long as u could close it. and whats with this eclipse? goku could turn into a big ape every full moon what strange enough happened a couple time in this movie. also when he is in the ape form, he can not be controlled what he surprisingly could in this movie.
next is that he was in love with chi-chi, what also seemed a bit weird in the beginning, and got worse during the movie. DB(not Z or GT) isn't a love story, with a lot of romance between those 2 until the end where they marry. its also a pity they didn't brought the ox-king in this movie ( the father of chi-chi ), cause that is one of the funniest characters in the anime if he is in.
last the Kamehameha-wave and shen long. I'm not sure how a Kamehameha-wave can bring someone back to life with it destructive power, but OK. goku has to live, how ever if was weird that he was almost killed by 1 single gun shot. in the anime bulma shot him between the eyes and all goku had was pain. but OK. and the way to do the wave was also a bit strange.
the dragon was just a big disappointment. from all the special effects, which some were still OK, i hoped this would be the movie's big final. but how a complete waste. the dragon was so freaking small, and yellow-gold-like. and he didn't freaking talk. he should have been long, and rolled in a wide circle, and be freaking green with gold-yellow spike-thingy's on the back. and his voice must be also there. he looks impressive in the anime, but here he just doesn't do it.
the only reason i gave this movie 3 stars is because some effects were nice, and i liked some fighting scenes.
probably a bit late, but don't go to this movie if u haven't done it so far.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
this is just a ' sit back and watch the movie' movie
i saw the movie yesterday. i didn't went for a long time because all the bad reviews I've heard about the movie.
but now I'm on vacation in Taiwan and my cousin thats 22 years old said the movie was great and he wanted to take me to the cinemas to see it. i first was like 'i hope his taste isn't very bad'. but after i just sat back and relax in the chair with medium popcorn and large coke, i started to like the movie.
in the beginning with the close ups of Megan and the 2 humping dogs i was like 'ok, u can also over do it', but i really liked the action scenes in this movie. the storyline is messed up, and some acting could be better, cause in the first one i thought the acting was much better, but still the movie is very much watchable.
just sit and relax while u are watching the movie.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
from a guy that haven't read the books
i haven't read the HP books. not one. i think i just don't like the books very much. too many pages for me, and its just not my subject to read about. the movies are different. i like the movies very much.
of all the 6 movies i think this one is by far the best movie. it just had everything in it. i don't understand the critics of the people that have actually read the book.
'it's not according to the book, they left a lot scenes out :('. so what, the book has a lot pages, of course they couldn't put it in 1 movie. sure they probably should have split the movie in 2 parts like deathly hallows but they didn't. but still the movie is flawless.
for someone that haven't read the books, but seen all movies, this movie was simply great and easy to follow.
10/10 for this one.
