Sunshine (2007)
Pretty good but could have been great
This was a good sci-fi movie and better than probably the majority Hollywood puts out but a bit disappointed it didn't get to the next level. A bit more science input and more work on the plot could have helped. Overall was worth watching.
Mulan (2020)
Stop making everything "woke"
This could have been a great story except reality needs to be discarded yet again in the aim to achieve wokeness. Companies are going to keep losing massive amounts of money until they ironically wake up. Make a good believable story please. Hint: it means male and female exist, are different and compliment each other. One of my favourite movies ever was aliens. A strong female lead. Thankfully no woke back then.

What's with the whole white supremacist thing?
They keep mentioning over and over about some guy being a white supremacist. It's really weird. Also they try to turn this into a normal drama rather than make it a technology drama. As usual fox by trying to make it cater to everyone means they cater to no one. Disappointing as it could have been good. Instead the fox writers are trying to ram ideology into a technology story.
Long Way Up (2020)
I loved the other series...
But this is just painful with the complete lack of planning and appreciation for the requirements of electric vehicles at this point in time. Using all prototypes, not even having a charging adapter for Chile and needing to get a truck with a diesel generator to come to charge the bikes multiple times already it's just a comedy of errors that make it painful to watch. By episode 3 they aren't even bothering to shoe the other vehicles so don't even know if they're still going or just couldn't get charged. The bikes start to magically charge. It's really amateurish and really makes me appreciate fossil fuels more. I say that as a big green guy and fan of Tesla etc but this is actually a bad advertisement for both brands in this series plus bad branding for Apple.
Flint Town (2018)
I loved this show
I was really impressed with all of this show. The characters were great and the unbiased reporting was a breath of fresh air where everything seems to be political for clicks these days. Cinematography was great and the pace and timeline awesome. Highly recommended and I really hope we can see a second series and possibly another city for example the homeless problem in San Francisco for example. 9/10 only because I won't keep rewatching it which is what I save my 10's for 😊.
Eye in the Sky (2015)
It drags out too long for British a morality play
It's well done but they drag this out for far too long with a long winded British morality play over one young girl. I get it but honestly it's just overly done and politically correct. Any sensible person would want to kill the bad peoples about to do the suicide bombings and who are likely guilty of the deaths of many many civilians. It's a no-brainer and it epitomises everything thing with the British in my opinion. The radical Islamists will see this as weak which it is.
Megan Leavey (2017)
This was dumbed down too much to be memorable
The story was told in a fast paced way which makes the character development feel rushed and very shallow. There is barely any training with the dog or even much combat experience. I feel like it was dumbed down for a potential female audience which was disappointing as a guy I would like more movies to include the amazing stories of dogs in the military. I think there's a chance for another movie to be made telling a more in depth story of the bomb dogs and even be included in a TV show like generation kill.
Black Summer (2019)
Really disappointing
This is my first review here simply because I was so disappointed. I love sci-fi and zombie flicks. It sounded great in the write-ups and seemed to have potential but literally from the first scene it doesn't match human reality. What father would let his daughter go alone without his wife to safety when he knows he's sick and can't carry on. It's really stupid and unrealistic. It just goes downhill from there. The car scenes show the car driving at ridiculously slow speeds from inside. Lots of other inconsistencies that really make no sense. I only made it half way through episode two before I stopped. Damn Netflix. Hit and miss again for something that could have been really good. Fire the writers, maybe they were all too high while writing this script.
Mr. Robot (2015)
Addictive drama perfectly timed
This is my first review. I have to review this show it's that good.
A cross between Inside job, fight club and requiem for a dream. I love this show so much I've started watching it through for a second screening after only a weeks break. I work in IT, I'm not a coder, but it's realistic enough to hook me in to its storyline. Very Addictive and with a touch of occupy Wall Street too thrown in.
I love this show. I give it 10/10 on my second viewing. It's not absolutely perfect but it's so close that I have to give it a 10. I can't wait for more of Mr Robot. The only problem is waiting for more. Hurry up please.
