Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)
Cruel, demented, funny, wild, saddening, beautiful to look at.
I loved the Volume 1 and 2. All of the characters, and the story line are acceptable to any person seeking entertainment. The first episode had some funny moments, with a back tone of innocence. All of the sound tracks to each Vol are well placed. When the second vol. Came to theaters, I was excited. I felt a bit let down in the second episode. Visually amazing. The one or should I say 2 parts or even three parts of GOTG Vol 3 are....so gushy that I almost wanted to scream in the theatre. The torture of animals and biotech metamorphosis was terrifying. Then to put a large chunk of all the laughs on the back burner because children are to be saved and freed from bondage, let's review, first we hurt our furry friends, then transport them to fake Earth. WAIT, let's make this movie into what NOAH was supposed to be. Like Noah's Ark meets GOTG. Don't be mean to people, stop the torture of animals, save your friends, become a family and then bludgeoned us with moral crap. All I want is Drax to destroy, Peter to use his peter, instead it's a giant pity party. I love the humorous parts, an F bomb in a PG-13! Kewl. Drax said A-hole, but only to chime in. Gosh leave the gushy, Jello for G movies, If we are even able to make G movies anymore.
So weit die Füße tragen (2001)
Long and boring scenes, but a few bright spots, pretty good movie
I stumbled on this movie on the Vangard channel. I watched it from about midnight on, so I was tired. I have to admit I was drawn into this film because of the nature of the main character. I enjoyed his changing situations and the make-up artist who made him look more of a despot than a human. This movie has a few areas that confused me. Like when he is being attacked by the wolves and he is transported to an native tribe/village? I also was sickened by the sudden violent attacks made by the fat river man. The movie lets you believe that our main man will survive anything, but then you get socked in the stomach by the films evil characters. I enjoyed this film. I would recommend it.
Land of the Lost (2009)
Not like the TV show. Silly foolish film
This was a great TV show. I really liked it, it was on TV from 1972 - 1974 (I think) The kids TV show was a mix of crappy plywood stages, claymation, weird technical shots.... "new age" filming techniques. Anyway its a great TV show. The Movie is all dinosaur stuff, with weird "chaka" scenes, strange plot and writing, like getting totally drunk and having the spins then taking LSD. The cast was waaaaay off. Just a chance to take an old TV show and make a $100,000,000 BOMB! grossed only $50,000,000? That must have been some really long lunches, getting trashed with the cast and crew. The woman who plays Holly is cute, nice tight red shorts. Thats about it. This movie is bad. Anyone who rates it over two stars is a real moron.
The Thing (1982)
The Thing is so sick
I forgot about the movie E.T. especially when John Carpenter released THE THING. There is a new version of the 1982 classic. Nothing will ever challenge the original. The reviews here are great. I agree with all of them. I was 13 when I saw this movie. I also saw Alien with my brother, and I was petrified. The Thing has some of the best natural special effects ever developed, I almost puked during the couch (blood test scene). Slobber tubes, guts, sh*t flying everywhere. I really get barfed out when that guy starts shaking and BLAAAAGGRAAAHHH !! I am 41 years old and still have a hard time watching certain scenes. Great intense story and the acting is solid. Fear, solitude, survival, All you new school horror flick fans need to see the original FIRST. I still have nightmares about 1982's THE THING. Good luck.
Terriers (2010)
Good episode, actually scared for character(s)
No clue about what this show was going to be about after dog commercials on FX. I caught the first one, never will miss another. That Donal actor guy, I like his brute looks and his hair. M. Raymond James is cool. Kinda like weird cool. Laura Allen is so beautiful it hurts. The writing is good/great. I like everything about this show. Please keep going, most of TV sucks, except Mad Men, Breaking Bad, etc. FX has a good shot at getting ratings, they really screwed the pooch when they scooped 2 1/2 men. That show is just t&A. The Black cop guy is cool, he bends the rules cause he knows Hank is solid. Kick ass TV is here. FX, AMC, and that new show about the boxer. He is the guy from Fight Club....keep Terriers rolling please. Thanks FX
District 9 (2009)
Good Movie, violently funny, a few plot hiccups, but decent and sad to.
I like the realness of the media in the start of the film. The main character starts off as a wimpy dork with racist intentions. Then he gets what he deserves. Weird story. But I like it a lot. Remember the same silver bottle with the special rocket fluid, was also what got sprayed in his face which causes the mutation?? I thought that was weird, was it fuel for the ship? Or intentional to contaminate the rest of the humans who came in contact?? Chris will be back in three years...perfect for part 2 when Chris returns to Earth to help out his people and cure the one guy that helped them get free, This is fairly fun and interesting film. completely South African. Even better.
The Whoopee Boys (1986)
I am laughing so hard reading the reviews of the funniest movie ever made
My brother and I in 1987 we sacking out in the living room and this movie came on Showtime. I watched it again in 1994 with a friend. Its got a simple story line, but the characters are OUT OF THIS WORLD FUNNY. Two guys head to Florida, meet a hot woman and need to go to this institute in the everglades to learn manners to save a children's school. I mean how dumb right, the sound track gets you motivated to keep watching. When They arrive at the institute they run into the Butler and the humor blasts off with the name of the butler and Paul Rodriquez's response!!! The first night of "gentlemen school" the funniest scene ever is the dinner scene. I friggin watched this movie about ten times, and every time the dinner scene floors me. Crude stupid simple low brow cracks. This is my favorite comedy of all time. And the weird Lacrosse type game at the end. I really don't understand why more peeps don't go bonkers for this film. funny, funny funny. Another movie like this is "Young Doctors in Love", "80s"
Ta'm e guilass (1997)
My Friend from Iran
I have a friend from Iran, he is a used car dealer. He explained to me that Iran is a beautiful country. "Taste of Cherry" Is true to my friends voice. The story is slow to unfold, then painfully obvious. I loved this film. God's beautiful world, and the main character wants to leave under his own hand. Beautiful scenes, long cinematic shots, dialog that gives the audience everything it needs. I felt that I had dust in my teeth and ears, but my soul was wet with joy over the understanding of something new. Sad, electric ending, With nothing but questions to my own fortitude for life. American movies are in need of of this style and manner.
The Fourth Kind (2009)
Hate or Love the 4th kind
I love reading the comments about film. The folks who just hated it with one star rating and bad feelings all over about having been duped, robbed, screwed over the content. People who hated it were looking for answers. Probably from Colorado, or New Mexico. I remember the previews and trailers got me so frightened I had my thumb on the prev-chan button while at home watching TV...I was scared all week before the opening of the film. Then other folks raved over this film, landmark, down right freaking out in the theater, ground breaking. ITS A MOVIE....gosh I cant believe people (hard core movie goers) thought that it was real. Mickey Mouse, Santa Clause, Darth Vader are all FICTION. And that is the FUN of going to movies. The Blair Witch was a great movie because it was based on the true (untrue) story. I loved it and thought it was the best movie of that year. I don't know what to think of this movie yet, but I am going to rent it as soon as it comes out. I love reading reviews of people crying like babies over the "are we alone" question. X-files people....what a bunch a dorks.
