The Bionic Woman (1976)
Legendary
Still now do I remember the Bionic Woman. At that time the plot was quite new and unique. I loved so much the simplicity of it, of the bionics, Jaime etc... In and out of character Jaime or Lindsay Wagner seemed like a great person in reality. Lindsay played the role like a goddess right for the part. All the plots for all the episodes was never the same and always fun to watch, especially all the undercover missions, which were a lot.
Watching it in 2010 seeing the beliefs and technology so far behind makes it that much more enjoyable and special to watch. I cannot stress this enough, that this is a great series, I was extremely sad to see it come to an end after just approx. 50 episodes, I must admit I spilled a couple tears. I recommend greatly and I believe it to be available on DVD, the full collection on internet. If you plan to watch the Modern Bionic Woman re-make, don't, it is waist of your time and in no way brings any sense of the original version with all it's violence, it in my opinion dishonors the legacy. A 10 out of 10 for this series!
Queen of the Damned (2002)
Entertaining, nothing more....
First of all, I found "Queen of The Damned" to be extremely different from "Interview with The Vampire" probably because of all the special effects and difference in actors. As I watched the movie the plot was quite simple and easy to understand, as well, there was not much suspense at all or the creation of curiosity. In no way was the film as powerful or emotional compared to the last film (Interview with The Vampire). I had expected more from it by seeing the trailer. The acting was okay, but the last film had some of the best and most well-known actors so once again if I compare it, it would not be as good. The ending was quite predictable. It seemed to me it was one of those movies you watch just to be entertained and not to make you think what so ever really. I didn't quite like it being at some points a dark movie, it was done in my opinion to make the viewer uncomfortable (not sure if that makes sense). Overall it wasn't that much a waste of time.
Eyes Wide Shut (1999)
The work of a God of Film
I have to say, this movie is extremely artistic, and uses quite a lot of symbolism, in expressing a message. The music played, throughout the movie, made it seem like a dream, you were in a trance the whole time. Stanley Kubrick, died a week, after it had finished being created, he was a genius, and one of a kind. It will take some time to understand the film. Stanley Kubrick, made the film, lead you in a certain direction, he made you think, what he wanted you to think, he had everything planned. This movie, is also, extremely psychological, because you constantly have to think what is happening, and think about the characters, and what they are thinking. A noticeable element in the film, is that there is a lot of suspense, which just makes it that more amazing. The whole movie, was planned, there is not a moment, metaphorically speaking, that you walked, or stepped away from the path that was built. The movie can be watched over, and over again. As well, the special features, are worth watching. This film, is to be treasured, years to come, and we will all remember, how good Stanley Kubricks work is...
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (2008)
Heart Breaking, yet wonderful!
This is by far one of the most powerful movies I have ever seen, I saw this about some months ago, and I still, whenever I think about it, start to cry. This movie has an ending, possibly, one of the most outstanding, frightening and mind blowing, ever recorded on film, it is outstanding, of course, the story is about the Holocaust, many people say this gives out a message of compassion and love, but for me the ending, filled it with sadness, and grief. In terms of acting this film is great, sets are okay too. This movie should be seen, but get a pack of tissues ready, because it will make you cry, again... it gives a chill down my spine sometimes....
Catwoman (2004)
A fun movie to watch...
I think that in terms of capturing the character "Catwoman" they have succeeded very well. It shows how much work they put in, and how much detail they put in to making "Catwoman" a very good character. Halle Berry would have been my first choice for the part, but the acting was average, Halle, did not look that good, of course only in terms of acting, she is a stunning actress. The story was not very good, it seemed unimportant, and as well childish, it is about a cream that makes women ugly, it does not kill, but can effect their health, I thought that was really awful. I think if the story was changed, the movie would have been tones better, as well, they could have added a villain maybe, something else, that stands a match, instead of a strong woman. The fighting, and action scenes were very imaginative, and fun to watch, overall, the movie was fun to watch, not very deep in emotions, but more just "fun", it also tells the story of how Halle or Catwoman, become a stronger person, have higher self-esteem, which is quite an important story, or message to tell.
Wanted (2008)
A disaster!
First of all, the story seems to be pointless, an assassin, that goes around killing people, because of some "rule" or "code". It seemed that the story was boring, and should have had more to it. It seemed plain, and was something that was not focused on by anybody, who was making the film. I find that they thought, the rest of the elements of the movie would make up for it, which they did not.
Non-stop action I predicted, and that was true. Every seen had some action in it, all of it, had very well done special effects, and great ideas, but if there is no story, its ruined, and wasted.
The humor in the film was honestly stupid, just awful, it was dark humor, and pointless again. Seemed quite childish.
In terms of acting, in my opinion, Angelina Jolie will always be bad, to me, she is meant for the action parts, why not be a stunt double! Only in Mr. and Mrs.Smith was she good. Freeman was okay, quite good actually, but deserved not to be in this movie, honestly, he does not belong in it, swearing etc...
This movie is a catastrophe!!
Incendiary (2008)
Very sad, yet at some points awful!
The story of a woman grieving over the loss of her husband and son, seems like a story that should not be told, it felt like every scene was just watching her crying and having flashbacks. On the other hand, scenes were very well done, and clear at some points, very good special effects too. I have to say though, this is by far the worst movie I have seen, or at least, I can recall seeing. The whole story looks like repetition, and then the mystery to be revealed of how everything happened is very badly done, it is easily guessed, not in any way clever, and pointless. I do not recommend this movie to anyone, it is appalling.
Se7en (1995)
Flawless!
I have to say that this movie is so well done, everything carefully planned, it is for me Flawless! The idea itself is very unique, and the killings are very imaginative. While watching this movie, I was told it is best, not to miss a minute of this movie, for every scene, every moment, is a valuable clue to solving a mystery. This movie is amazing. One thing about the movie is that it is very dark, as in simply colour, even in bright daylight, scenes are dark. The sets are very good, and the acting is great, Brad Pitt suits the part perfectly. It could not have been done better. The ending, however is just overpowering, just.... fantastic! The twist at the end is never to be expected, not one human on this earth could have guessed it, this movie is so cleverly made, I recommend this to almost anyone, that loves a mystery, and some gore, as well, as a movie with wonderful structure.
Tropic Thunder (2008)
One of the best comedies I've seen.
I thought looking at the posters, this movie was going to be an action movie only. I was not very keen to see it, but, to my amazement, it was very hilarious, first time I've laughed in a movie in 8 months. I could definitely say I never got bored at all. And, it was not a plain action movie, it had a little twist, which I cannot reveal, due to "Spoilers", but it made it that much more fun to watch.
Action and fighting scenes, as well as sets, and special effects were very very good. I recommend this movie to anyone, as long as they enjoy action and comedy. Overall, the movie was unique and enjoyable. Not many movies like this.
Father of the Bride (1991)
A very Funny movie!
Steve Martin as usual is very good in almost every movie he makes in my opinion. This movie is very funny. The story is very simple, yet, wonderful. In terms of acting its extremely well done. Sets are are also very good, detailed as well. This is probably one of the best "wedding" movies ever, something that made it extremely unique was "Frank", the wedding planner. Every scene he is in, I promise you will not be able to keep your laughs in, I myself, laughed, till I could not breathe. This to me is what makes a great comedy. The humor is mostly oral, not much physical humor. I highly recommend watching "Father of The Bride 2", it is just as funny, if not, funnier, which is quite strange, usually, the first movie is always funnier. Father of The Bride 2 is more the proper ending for the story, although it seems it ends at the first movie. I recommend this movie to people who enjoy a movie that has a simple, yet unique story, and is very funny. Overall this movie is great, there is no particular highlight, everything is excellent, but yes, Frank stands out!
While She Was Out (2008)
"Kim Basinger was Amazing" What!?
Overall this movie is dreadful, and should have never been made. One of the problems with this movie is that there is no link to the audience and the characters, for example, if she is about to be attacked, you want to feel, "Oh My God, No!", but you don't in this case, you don't care because there is no link that has been made to know the character. In the trailer, it seemed as though the movie would be great, yet there is no suspense what so ever really. There could have been maybe some mystery but there is not. "All she has is a toolbox." was said on the DVD's back, you would think that it was carefully planned this movie, and cleverly made, but it is not, The ending, was just awful, very straight forward, and pointless too. The acting is either average or below average, maybe even lower. In my opinion it was a waste of an hour of my life. The "Special Effects" and sets were average too, nothing special what so ever. There is not much gore, or bloody violence, not much blood is shown. This movie was advertised to make it sound quite amazing, yet really, its not even worth looking for, I do not recommend this to anyone, unless they are easily satisfied, by a few fights and a boring story.
Saw (2004)
Amazing Movie!
I had first thought of this movie being the type of movie that has no story, and is just action-packed and gore. However, I was wrong, there is a lot of suspense and my eyes could not be removed from watching it. It was very enjoyable to watch. There is a great twist at the end that surprised me, but I thought it could have been a bit better. In terms of "special effects" and sets the movie was quite simple, yet so entertaining. The movie is like a puzzle, a mystery, and the scenes of horror and torture are very imaginative, very. I would recommend this movie to almost anyone who enjoys a twist at the end, a puzzle to solve. My opinion on SAW 2,3,4,5,6,7 without even watching them are that they are going to be bad, a movie that continues to number 7, seems like its gone to far and is going to get worse, this is only what I assume, however the first was amazing.
