A true masterpiece
3 September 2022
After the brilliant La Loi de Téhéran, Saeed Roustaee (a name to remember) confirms that he is one of the most talented filmmakers of the moment as could be a Park Chan-wook or a Bong Joon-ho. A fully mastered work from A to ZA , and above all a real actor's director with special mention for the breathtaking crowd scenes that we had already seen in The Law of Tehran and that we see again here (the strike at the factory, the wedding...).

Saeed Roustae gives us a real family fresco, tragic and brulsesque as Roustaee rightly says with an ode to the courage and wisdom of women, filmed with real finesse.

Even if most of the actors are extraordinary, Taraneh Alidoosti who is simply magnificent dominates the film (it is not for nothing that the title is Leila and her brothers).

And in addition we see Undertaker, Broke Lesnar and Randy Orton (and we are entitled to a debate on them, Triple H and Big Show being cited).

In short, undoubtedly one of the best films of 2022, and to say that it did not win the Palme d'Or at Cannes.

A good Boisset
18 December 2021
Vert good French thriller by Yves Boisset with an Italian style where settling of scores and corruption in Marseille are the ingrediants. Awesome cast les by Jean Yanne, and special US actors Gordon Mitchell as a hitman (impossible not to think of Le coup du Parapluie with Pierre Richard) and especially Sterling Hayden !!

Animals are beautiful
17 December 2021
The adaptation of Sylvain Tesson's book is an ode for beauty and patience. Are we going to see her or not then our snow leopard? Suspense and no spoil. (But I assure you panther or not the animals are there and it is magnificent). 8/10.

strong and though typical 80's thriller taking place in NYC
4 June 2017
Cool engaged B movie with two cool actors in the gloomy New York of the 80's. And with a funny appearance of Paul Bartel in the role of a judge of night and a extract of the movie, The Soldier and a scene where we see a poster of the movie, The Exterminator, both directed by M. Glickenhaus himself !

Blade Runner meets Robocop "à la française" !
3 June 2017
An excellent engaged B movie, mix of science fiction, action and thriller in a futuristic Paris Hashima mode. The actors are very good, beautifully filmed and you do not get bored for a single second. Entertaining and intelligent ! In short, by far one of the most beautiful surprise of this end of the year (2016). We keep on saying that French B movies are dead, but absolutely not, and it's called Ares !

Good Korean action/thriller and a damn good fist against man virility and machismo
28 May 2017
Man on High Heels is a good muscular and engaged dramatic thriller. Korean ingredients are there: it rains all the time, it fights with brutality and aestheticism, it cries, it laughs, it screams ... A little long and suffering from some weaknesses in the scenario, Man on High Heels is enough audacious and a damn good fist against man virility and machismo !

interesting alien abduction movie "based on real facts".
28 May 2017
Intriguing flick concerning alien abduction "based on real facts". It's Duane Barry X Files (a classic!) on big screen. Predictable and perhaps outdated (I wonder if this kind of movie can come out today - 2017 ) but interesting and watchable. With Robert "T-2" Patrick and Henry "ET" Thomas.

Sir Ridley still rocks at 79 years!
28 May 2017
It takes a little time to start, some very predictable surprises, characters are not up to Ripley and Jonesy BUT it's a brutal SF action movie who assumes it, very stunning visually, excellent scenes of action dnd especially the creatures are very well done ! It is not the first Alien (which nevertheless is incomparable) but a good new one in the series. Summary of the story Sir Ridley still rocks at 79 years!
