I was entertained

I think the bad reviews came from people that expected too much.

I thought the movie was very entertaining.

The cast was pretty good.

The acting was decent.

The ending felt like the writers were given a length and they realized they had to wrap it up quickly.

It was rushed.

The scenery was really nice

It obviously wasn't a big budget blockbuster but it wasn't low budget.

It has a lot of action.

It's good to occupy time, I didn't feel like like it was time wasted.

I've seen really bad movies at the theatre that cost much more than streaming this did.

I tend to only write reviews for movies that I think are getting unfairly criticised.

The Ark (2023– )

Bad first impression

Really bad first impression.

I have been saving them up.

I am 15 minutes into episode 1 and I had to review it.

The acting/writing is atrocious.

It is not funny-bad but just bad.

The CGI is ok but some of the special effects are silly.

They should print the age of the writers.

I guess the 15 year old son of the producer.

They still using water for showers 100 years in the future. :-(

The show has the production quality of The Outpost.

Similarly bad writing/acting.

I will still watch it because I watch anything sci-fi

I don't expect it to be renewed unless it is inexpensive to make.

Interesting

It is a very interesting film.

There is not much action so don't expect it to eventually become faster paced.

All the actors are really good.

It is a well written film.

It's kind of a weird topic and sad when mentally ill people don't get help.

It is a long film, almost two hours.

I found it boring in some places.

The scenery is amazing.

What do the people that live there do for work.

I'd rent it again but there are a lot of good movies out and this wouldn't be at the top of my list.

I'm sure I missed a lot of symbolism.

The civil war was mentioned a lot.

I had no complaints about the filming, it was well done.

Mr. Harrigan's Phone (2022)

It's not a horror film

I expected a horror film and this is not a horror film so I was disappointed from the start.

There is really good acting and good writing.

The plot made sense and progressed at a fair pace.

There's not much action but it's not boring.

It was a good pairing of the kid from "It" with Donald Sutherland.

I liked the scenery.

Not really a surprise it takes place in Maine.

It is more an artistic film than you might expect from Stephen King.

It is definitely worth seeing once on Netflix or whenever it ends up.

I would have felt ripped off if I went to a theatre because I didn't think it was scary.

It is fun to watch.

It kept my interest, fast paced.

There is lots of action.

There was an unexpected twist at the end.

I liked the acting.

It was decent and not distracting.

It mostly has no name actors except Stallone.

Pretty limited locations but that made sense.

I don't know if if they cut too much or there were too many "fill in the blanks".

I don't watch many Israeli spy movies so I found it hard to follow.

I had high hopes so it disappointing.

Some scenes are grainy, some are clear.

There doesn't seem to be a plot.

Turned it off.

Don't waste your time.

One good actor but no plot.

I doubt it cost much to make.

I wanted to give it a chance so I watched 2 episodes and a bit of 3.

I gave up, it wasn't getting any faster to develop.

No action and really slow.

I recommend it.

It's corny and I think kind of unrealistic (maybe I am just old :-)).

It's very sweet.

It's British, sad that North America is too uptight for this type of material.

I vaguely remember the original but I love the reboot.

Cable tv would definitely censor it but I think it is hilarious.

I watched it as a movie on Amazon Prime.

It was entertaining.

Isn't the purpose of a movie to keep your attention and entertain you?

This movie succeeds at that.

It's a time travel movie, don't try to figure out how it works.

Accept it for what it is and enjoy the ride.

I've seen worse and better.

I like being able to pause it at home. :-) I don't usually like dubbed movies but I didn't notice it much.

I thought it was entertaining, I hope Netflix makes more like it.

Things Heard & Seen (2021)

I tried to pay attention but it was just too slow.

I made it through half the movie before writing this review.

The acting was very good and the writing was mostly good but there were a few times when an actor seemed to be forcing dialog out.

I can't recommend it unless you have no other options.

Thankfully it is free.

The second half is better but I can't recommend sitting through the first half.

I liked it.

I paid $6 CDN and it was worth more.

My problem with renting movies is that that too often they are not worth what they cost.

This was worth more IMHO.
