hmmmmm
14 May 2024
I watched this with my 6 year old son, he was reasonably entertained, but he did ask me "why are all the men stupid and cowardly and the girls are clever and brave?". I couldnt give him an age appropriate answer; other than "films used to show the opposite, but now they have decided to show it the other way round". But thats not really true as films in the past showed plenty of brave, courageous and clever men and women, although men would generally do the fighting as physically they are typically much more capable then women in this regard. Anyway my kid enjoyed the film and gave it 5 out of 10. 2 out of 10 for me irrespective of the cowardly stupid men.

Laughably appalling

This film is the perfect compliment to part 1.

I didnt think the first could be topped but Zach Snyder has outdone himself with this effort!

Incessant slow motion shots, poor;y written dialog so awful you pity the actors who have to recite such tripe, numerous afterthought ADR lines. Its basically a terrible film on every conceivable level.

There is a scene mid way through where all the main heroes relay their individual back stories, and they sit around in a convenient semi circle, 2 of them placed awkwardly on 3 sides of a rectangular table, presumably to make it easy to film them together. Thats the level of film-making on offer here im afraid. I would say this is not worth 2 hours of anyones time to be perfectly honest. 1/10.

Terribly dubbed fantasy film
11 February 2024
This Russian production has an ok story and on the whole strong visual effects and excellent set design. Some of the action sequences are good although the attempts at humour largely do not work here (although comedy is generally ill-served when dubbed or even translated). If viewed in its original language it would maybe rate a 5, however it is utterly let down by the english language dubbing which turns what could have been an inoffensive watch into a grotesque comedy which is difficult to endure until the end. In conclusion I can only rate this as a 2 out of 10 (two out of ten). Its a pity Amazon was not able to let me see the film in its original language with english subtitles.

Not worth your time...
4 February 2024
I was willing to give this a go, due to it having a reasonable rating on imdb and also a very strange premise. Unfortunately i found this movie to be incredibly tedious with a terrible script, amateur acting, incredibly bad sound quality and poor attempts at comedy (cinematography is fine for the most part). A number of characters introduced were completely pointless and the plot was all over the place. The film really seems to completely run out of steam in the.third act; they even 'shot the rodeo' ....Ive seen some great low and even no budget movies in the past, but this is one everyone can safely skip as you will be missing nothing. Wash your car instead.

non bene

This film is not good. Denzel Washington is a fantastic actor with the ability to elevate any movie he appears in. However this is not a good film; the script is laughable; one especially egregious example being when a newsreader says: "enough synthetic amphetamine to kill the whole of Naples/Sicily". I enjoyed the first 2 Equalizer films but this is a mess. If you need to have extensive driving scenes in a 1 hour and 48 minute film then something has gone wrong. The supporting cast is ok, except for the female CIA analyst and the unnecessary out of place love interest. The antagonist is one dimensional and not in anyway believable. As stated before; Denzel is watchable in pretty much anything because he is a first class actor, but even his presence couldnt save this one for me 3/10.

no telling where the money went...

Estimated budget 12000000, I guess they blew it on coke and hookers, if so, well played, however, if this is an actual attempt at entertaining children, it seems misguided at best. The animation quality is terrible. The same pictures/sequences are used again and again. The voice acting is amateurish. A previous reviewer said something like "dont watch this unless your high or drunk" however I have to vehemently disagree (there are far better things to do while high or drunk ;) and say dont watch this until and unless some sick twisted serial killer is holding your wife and kids and forcing you to watch it to save them, and even then I would ask you to think twice.

Pointless Remake...
28 September 2012
Although there is nothing seriously wrong with the movie, it is however a pointless remake of a superior product. Basically the only point of the movie is to cash in the 'executive producers' name/previous work. The performances of most of the actors was adequate, however I would advise anyone interested in the themes and concepts explored in this sub- standard remake to watch the original (in fact watch all 3 of the Pusher trilogy, although 2 and 3 seem a little rushed they remain better quality than this version). Having said that; it was good to see Zlatko Buric in a role in this film.- hmmm only nine lines and just like my friend said to me last night: 'I need another line'. ANyway I give Pusher (2012) 4/10 and thats Pushing it...

Unfunny

Very strange movie. Completely mis-fires comedy-wise. I didn't laugh out loud (or otherwise) once. Walken and Hauer are wasted here, which is a shame as I am a fan of both actors. It isn't hard to see why it took such a long time for the film to finally be released.

Overall ; It gives you the distinct feeling that they might have run out of money in post-production; the editing is poor and the music throughout the film sounds amateurish. However even without these major flaws the film would still have been rotten to the core.

If this movie had been made in the 80's the jokes would have felt clichéd but now it is simply embarrassing. Add to that the wooden acting of the majority of the cast, the awful dialogue and the lack of chemistry between any of the actors; it is no surprise (that at the time of writing); no one else has bothered to review this movie and only 50 or so people have even voted.

Anyway; I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone. If you are considering watching this movie; please use your time more wisely!

OK performances hampered by preposterous writing and Inconceivable actions...
17 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The acting in this film is OK, however the script and the way the characters are written (in particular the kids) is not credible at all. The way the kids act, speak and also their actions throughout the movie has to make you wonder if the screen writers have ever had any interaction with children of the ages portrayed in the film ever. In addition there is little to no character development and many of the supporting cast seem little more than caricatures. At the end of the movie I have no idea of the message intended or what the director was trying to say or achieve. Without going too deeply into it; in reality it is most likely that someone like Terri would be in a living hell everyday of his childhood/school-life because of a combination of factors, not just limited to his size (his social circumstances and his apparent non-existent social skills/relative poverty/his weight/his PJ uniform) and he would definitely never get the good looking younger daughter out of Rescue Me throwing herself at him (whether she was drunk and high on some anti-alzheimer? medication or not). However this is just one of the many flaws in this movie. I can only give this film 4 out of 10 and that would be for the performances of the young actors alone. They did OK with some pretty poor material.

A truly laughable piece of film making
7 September 2011
This is probably the worst movie I've seen all year and I have seen some rubbish films this year so that is saying something. The acting is terrible, the actors had no chemistry and most had been terribly mis-cast. The script is atrocious and the plot is not only unbelievable but also ridiculous, also the editing and camera work seem amateur. During this movie we found ourselves laughing out loud several times mainly because of Ray Liotta's emotional reactions (I cannot believe the performance Scorcese got from him in Goodfellas, having seen several of his films since).

There were only 2 enjoyable things about this movie; Christian Slater (basically playing Christian Slater the FBI agent) as his character was amusing and the 2nd thing was the end credits. I gave the film 2/10: 1 for Christian Slater and 1 for comedy value. Straight to the bottom of the DVD bargain bin (or the river) wit this please...
