Toy Story 3 (2010)
Pixar Perfect
Pixar has done it again! I am a huge fan of Toy Story and this 3rd movie is even better than the other two.
I loved seeing the old characters back as charming as ever and getting to know new ones. Tom Hanks is as always brilliant as Woody and Tim Allen brings a whole new dimension to Buzz Lightyear.
The animation is superb. I really can't find anything to complain about in this movie.
What could be more fun than getting to know old friends again, in a theater full of people who are laughing and crying throughout the whole movie.
My children loved it and I got a kick out of seeing their enjoyment. I also felt like I took a journey down memory lane, as I was just a teenager when the first Toy Story came out.
Nice work Pixar, I foresee some Oscar nods here.
The Karate Kid (2010)
A good solid remake
I really don't like remakes, even though it seems that it's the norm to remake a movie that did well in past years.
I was a fan of the original and this remake, while not quite as good, still was an entertaining film.
Jackie Chan did an excellent job. I've been a fan for years, so this was one of the main reasons to watch this film.
The fighting scenes were great. Jaden Smith is going to be a force to be reckoned with as he puts in another solid performance.
I recommend this movie wholeheartedly.

You're So Cupid! (2010)
You're So Cute!
This movie is a real gem. The story is unique and original.
Danielle Chuchran as Emma and Caitlin Meyer as Lily are perfectly cast as the feuding twin sisters. The story isn't over the top silly as is the case in some of the more current Disney type movies.
When Lily (Caitlin Meyer) and her twin Emma (Danielle Chuchran) find out that they've fallen in love with the same guy, it becomes an all out war for his affections. And that's when the story really takes off.
As they battle for the love of Connor Miller (Jeremy Sumpter) You're So Cupid becomes a little bit 'Bride Wars' and a little bit 'Parent Trap' when the girls find out that their parents are finally going to break up for good.
Emma and Lily decide to ditch Connor and make an all out effort to save their parent's marriage.
With some cool but low budget special effects, the film entertains and charms its way to the end.
Danielle Chuchran is adorable as Emma Valentine the tomboy who never thought she could or would ever fall in love and Caitlin Meyer really shines in her role as the sweet, shy, Lily Valentine who dreams of finding true love similar to Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'
Brian Krause is perfect as the hapless Daniel Valentine. His performance is subtle and charming.
Lauren Holly delivers a funny, engaging performance as Daniel's estranged and a little deranged wife, Audrey.
Jeremy Sumpter plays his part of the clueless romantic interest, Connor Miller, perfectly. His facial expressions when he's under the spell of the Valentine sisters are hilarious.
Chad Hively who plays Elliot, the guy who's madly in love with Lily, delivers a funny, likable and quirky performance.
Malese Jow has a nice supporting role as Megan, one of Lily and Emma's best friends.
The rest of the cast deliver solid supporting performances.
You're So Cupid is a sweet romantic family movie with twists and turns and just enough magic to make it a movie that will be enjoyed by the whole family.
Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars (2010)
Good job by Miss Stone
While I feel the original Harriet the Spy tops this remake. I do think this was an enjoyable made for television movie. Not totally cringe worthy and some good moments for Miss Stone, who I believe is one of the better teen actors today.
She keeps her performance real, and while the story is not anything new, it's entertaining and fun for teen/tween girls.
Disney seems to be lacking in new and fresh entertainment. I would like to see something original and fresh from the people who work for the mouse in the near future. Bring back some of the original Disney Channel movies that the whole family could enjoy together.
My daughters enjoyed this movie and are fans of Miss Stone, so I gave it a five out of ten on their behalf.
The Last Song (2010)
Does someone always have to die?
Well another Sparks movie where someone just has to die. It's getting old and dare I say expected, which ruins the story, when one is just waiting to see who the grim reaper will come calling for.
Miley Cyrus did an adequate job in this movie. At least she kept it clean. The film was contrived, cliché and lackluster. Kinnear as always shines on screen. Too bad he had so little to work with.
My young daughters begged me to take them to the movie as they are obsessed with Cyrus. Unfortunately for them, after her recent antics and attempts to 'grow up', I will be curbing their adoration of this young woman.
