What a disappointment
15 June 2022
I have not written a review in years on here. I was quite disappointed in this prequel to the Sopranos. While not a bad movie, it was far from good, I give it 5/10. The script had so many plot points that went nowhere. The movie spent a bit of time focusing on Harold and his side story to have this storyline go nowhere. The movie did not give enough screentime to Tony (Michael Gandolfini) who did an excellent job portraying a younger version of his father's character. The other positives were the portrayals of Vera Farminga (Tony's mother), Cory Stoll (Uncle Junior) and Ray Liotta (Hollywood Moltisanti and Sallie) who stole every scene he was in. The acting by the rest of the cast I found to be pretty underwhelming. If you're a fan of the Sopranos, skip this.

One of the Most Underrated Films I've Ever Seen
11 February 2013
I remember watching this movie the first time. I knew nothing about it and my dad told me it was a firefighter movie. So I just watched it and I was blown away. I always thought of that movie as one of my favourites and nobody else seemed to agree with me that it was that special. So I watched it again today. Although I knew that watching it again I would not get the same feelings since this is a movie where once you know the twists and turns you won't forget them, I thoroughly enjoyed it once again. This is simply an amazing movie that never lets up. This is one film where there was not 1 minute I SWEAR!!! One minute where it got boring or I lost interest. The acting is solid for a movie with superb writing. Dennis Quaid is like his normal self doing a good job and Jim Caviezel also does a decent performance. What makes this film is the superb writing behind it the storyline is very well developed and like I mentioned earlier never lets up. It also has emotion throughout that makes it sad at parts and happy. Trust me, watch this and you won't be disappointed. I don't want to mention anything about the plot since I don't want to spoil it but I will say it is a phenomenal mystery and sci-fi that will leave you thinking for days. THIS IS WHY WE GO TO THE MOVIES!!! 9/10

Yes it's cheesy, Yes it's dumb but Yes it's fun!!!
17 October 2012
A decent fun action flick that won't disappoint you. I hated The Expendables and was disappointed about all the hype. But this one was a way better film. There actually is a story and talking and not 100 mins of action. This film has cheesy one liners and will not win an academy award but if you're looking to ease back and relax with some buddies to a no brainer-flick this is a good one. Good action and decent screenplay and bad-ass characters featuring Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Jason Statham and more bring a solid action flick that I hope the sequel will be like this one and not like the first one. This is one of Stallone's better action flicks.

Villains are just too eccentric to take seriously
17 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Val Kilmer plays the best of the old Batman's. Meanwhile Chris O'Donnell plays very well as Robin. Nicole Kidman and Michael Gough also have decent performances. On the other hand, the villains in this film are very memorable but not for good reasons... Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones play their worst roles of all-time as the Riddler and Two-Face. Two-Face jumps straight into the movie with no character development whatsoever. Since he's also Harvey Dent we can assume this film is a reboot of the other two films. The Riddler plays the weirdest character in the history of film in my opinion. Complete randomness surrounds this character. Both villains are way too eccentric to take seriously as villains that plan to take over Gotham City. With these two characters the film is ruined. It's sad too because excluding Christian Bale, Val Kilmer was the best Batman.

The Thing (I) (2011)

If you liked The Thing (1982) you won't be disappointed
15 October 2011
When I first heard of this prequel coming out I thought why? The Thing from director John Carpenter was so amazing why do they have to make this? I regret what I said. I went in to the theatre with a good attitude and came out with a better one. Although it isn't as good as the 1982 version it still was well made and well acted. It isn't like the terrible Planet of the Apes that came out in 2001 years later after the other ones. This movie The Thing deserves praise for being a movie that comes out more then 25 years later and does very well. The special effects were well done with CGI effects. Overall 7/10. Very entertaining and EXTREMELY INTENSE!!! And do not leave when the credits start stay until the lights go on!
