Fallout 3 (2008 Video Game)
10/10
Absolutely mindblowing!
20 December 2010
This game is massive. It gives you this world that is amazingly big, and gives you the ability to say and do what you want in it. It gives over 100 hours of gameplay if you try searching around and doing side missions.......and make it not very easy level like I did which resulted in 30 hours. In the end I love this game. There is so much re-playability. first lets talk story. Fallout 3 takes place 200 years after a nuclear holocaust. Vaults that were made to protect people from the nuclear fighting have all opened except for one. This one is the one your character is raised in. When you are 19 your father escapes Vault 101 and you have to leave to go find him. From there the story expands. The story is filled with moral decisions, optional ways of dealing with things, and a million side quests. This isn't your usual side quest that take a little while to complete. These are just as big as the normal main mission modes. You will be sucked into many interesting side quests. Next is the graphics. The world of Capital wasteland is brilliantly created. It is really beautiful to go up at high heights and look at the whole wasteland and take in the massive achievement in architecture. The game also has a very good soundtrack. Just put on some GNR and you'll make your gaming experience even better. Thne we have the gameplay. The control is relatively good. The VATS system is an absolutely necessary addition making the experience much more of a breeze rather than a spiked road of torture. Then we get to the biggest aspect to the game. The design of this is simply amazing. The missions are designed brilliantly, the side quests are in high supply, there are an infinite number of items to collect, and much more. This game is the definition of massive. You can spill so much time on this game. Is it perfect? No. My main problem is that there are many of those death cycle moments. You know those moments when you are stuck in a position that is literally impossible to get out of resulting in you having to start the game all over again. Luckily I didn't run into this, but I got in positions like this a million times where I was very close to getting stuck in the death cycle managing to narrowly escaping. Overall this game is simply put amazing. It is one of the best I have played, and I can't recommend it enough.

The Walking Dead (2010–2022)

The best thing related to zombies I have ever seen.
15 December 2010
I love anything to do with zombies. Zombie movies, zombie games, and now a really good zombie show. The thing I like best about it though is how much it dips into the minds of the characters. It shows the emotions that can come up in dire situations. Lust, hate, fear, depression, aggression, and the most important of all hope. It really digs deep into the mind, and it delivers deeper than I could possibly imagine with the zombie genre. It delivers some great action, awesome gore, and a great apocalyptic setting, but that is all secondary achievement. The prime achievement is the plot, the characters, the dialogue, and the emotions which is different than most if not all zombie movies. Most of them are just drive by zombie killing fun, but what this show does is powerful. The acting is also wonderful from everyone in the cast. The direction is also wonderful capturing the apocalyptic world. In the end this is a show that I will be watching next season for sure.

A powerful piece of cinema that shows how our lives are more important than we think they are.
11 December 2010
This is a wonderful movie. It goes beyond the typical holiday special, and gives us something to think about. Rather than giving us that jolly feeling of Christmas through something visual or emotional this film gives it to us in more of a mental way. It makes us think about how important our lives really are, and that we should be glad to be alive. It makes us think about how we have changed the lives of people though we wouldn't realize it. It gives the mind a message that is received the brain and stays there. Yes it does give a heartwarming feel that I love, but I feel the main focus of the story was lesson it wanted to teach its watchers. They deliver that message stronger than any other film I have ever seen. You learn from this movie. This is really one of the best I have ever seen. The cast delivers wonderfully, the script is strong, the cinematography is excellent, and as I said the message it gives is genuine. I love this movie.

A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965 TV Movie)
10/10
Everyone has seen it a million times, but I love each and every time.
8 December 2010
I love the characters. I love the humor. I love the music. I love messages it sends. I love the sincerity. I love every moment of it. It is perfect. First thing I love about it is the characters. I really don't need to say the list since everyone on Earth knows these characters by heart so I'm just going to state that I love all the characters personalities. My favorite is Snoopy though. Who doesn't love Snoopy. Anoher thing I like about it is its humor. I think this is what makes this enjoyable for adults as well as children. It is filled with in-jokes that will get past children, and make adults laugh. It also has humor that children can enjoy, and humor that all age groups can enjoy. Then there is the music. This special wasn't very expensive, but what everyone agrees on with the what is most well done in the special is the music. The tunes are classic to everyone. I also love how the show sends the message that Christmas isn't about having the best. It's about bringing happiness during the holidays no matter how small that object of happiness may be. I feel that message, and it is putting good stuff in the heads of today's youth. This special does all these things right, but it doesn't set itself up as a huge Christmas spectacular. It does what it can. It doesn't ask for leveling as a Christmas classic it just let the public enjoy it. It doesn't shove stellar animation or celebrity voice work in our faces so we would watch it. They gave us a special they tried their best on, and they did a good job. I love this special and I will watch it every year till I fall over.

Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014)
10/10
A brilliant crime story filled with flare, emotion, and memorable characters.
6 December 2010
I am not a big TV lover. Mostly I watch South Park, but this show has gotten me interested in more live-action shows. It tells its stories with the same quality as a normal theater film for each episode making it feel like a massive crime drama experience. I have been waiting for a while now to review it, and now that the first season is over I can make my honest opinion clear. I live on a barrier island in New Jersey named Long Beach Island. It is about an hour drive away from Atlantic City so as you can guess I've been there a few times. My favorite part about Atlantic City is the boardwalk. Since this show is named Boardwalk Empire it should do a good job at showing what it looked like back in the 20's. Simply put it captures the 20's perfectly. The show is directed so well I felt like I was transported back to those days. They also capture the feel of the 20's in other ways by showing historic events such as the World Series scam. In the end though it best captures the spirit of the 20's on the boardwalk. As for the plot it is set in the 1920's. Prohabition has begun starting a whole decade of illegal alcohol smuggling. The Treasurer of Atlantic City Nucky Thompson is starting a smuggling business that results in some bloody consequences. Along the way he meets a woman named Mrs. Schroeder, deals with an oncoming election, and more. It is a very well told story. It manages to tell several different stories throughout the show, but none of them feel underdone. They all are extremely well put together story lines. You have the main alcohol smuggling story, the story of Nucky and Margaret, the story of Jimmy, the story of Capone, the story of Lucky, the story of Eli Thompson, the story of Agent Nelson Van Alden, and many more. All these different stories keep things fresh. The emotions that are shown in the episodes are powerful. As the episodes go on emotions get stronger like layers of an onion. Something that is also present in this show is flare. Every gangster flick needs that style to it. It needs to have that gangster feel. While this show doesn't have a lot of that when it happens it is really cool. Now I end this review on the acting. Everybody does a swell job. Buscemi is great as usual, and everyone else is great. The person who I'm most interested in is Michael Pitt who is a relatively unknown actor, but here is great and I would like to see him other things. He could make it real big. Overall I love this show. I will be a viewer of the next season for sure.

MJ=God
4 December 2010
This movie is one of the best I have ever enjoyed. Now I know what you're thinking. "This guy is doing this as a joke this movie sucks". Well the fact is I am telling my true opinion here. Michael Jackson kicks ass, and any haters can stop reading now. He is one of my favorite singers for a number of reasons. The main reasons why he kicks ass is....

1.His brilliant singing.

2.His awesome dance abilities.

3.Creative music videos.

4.His lyrics make an actual story.

These days music is lazy. For example look at Lady Gaga. She lets a machine sing for her. She has no dance abilities. Her music videos try to be weird to be cool, but in the end they are messes. Her lyrics are moronic only surrounding three things sex, drugs, and being weird. I could make better lyrics than her with my eyes closed. MJ had songs that told stories not summaries of what happened at a college party. Today music is bland. Now after bashing Gaga fans I'm ready to talk film. It starts with MJ performing in a concert "Man in the Mirror". It is a wonderfully edited scene capturing the songs brilliance. It also shows how crazy his fans were about him perfectly. Then we move on to a montage of all the different songs in his career starting with The Jackson 5. Then we reach a cheesy, but an extremely enjoyable scene where MJ is getting chased by stop motion animation fans. Then we get a music video called "Leave Me Alone". It has great surreal images about how MJ is constantly mobbed by the media. It is a great scene. Now we reach the actual story. The plot is about a man trying to get all the kids in the world hooked on drugs. It is simply, but it supplies all it needs to. The effects are great, the direction is good, and I think MJ is actually a good actor. The highlight by far is the "Smooth Criminal" music video. It is simply the definition of awesome. The dancing is choreographed to perfection, the cinematography is brilliant, and you got MJ bringing his great singing voice. It is for sure one of the best scenes in film history. It all ends with MJ singing "Come Together". He remakes the Beatles' classic perfectly. It kicks so much ass I couldn't sit down for a while. This movie is great. So what if it is one big ego trip. MJ deserves to have an inflated ego. Now that he is dead music is done for. The next generation will grow up to garbage like Lady Gaga and The Black Eyed Peas. It is a sad looking future for music. At least the world has memories like this movie.

Twilight (I) (2008)
1/10
Bland-something boring and uninteresting Ex. Twilight
2 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Bland is the perfect word to use with everything about Twilight. Bland acting, bland story, bland dialogue, bland direction, bland cinematography, bland romance, bland effects, bland action, everything is bland about Twilight. It is one of those movies you watch to make fun of, but after watching you feel like you really wasted two hours. It's unlike other bad movies were you can watch, review, and feel entertained by making fun of it. With Twilight everything is so boring that you feel like falling asleep ten minutes in. I found myself so bored that I started thinking about stuff for around thirty seconds. When stopped thinking about stuff I looked back at my TV to see the movie playing. It is so bland that thirty seconds of though made me forget that it was playing. That is like a cup of water and a stale piece of bread blandness. Sure there is other things to complain about also. The effects are terrible. When Edward runs it looks like he's going up an escalator in the ground. Then there is the moronic romance. Bella staying in love with a guy that stalks her, wants to kill her, and watches her sleep for months is pretty stupid. The ending where Edward sucks the venom out of Belle to stop her from becoming a vampire is stupid. If he let her change she would be safe from vampires, and he wouldn't have to deal with her growing old and dying. Sure she would have to live with seeing her loved ones die, but she would have Edward with her. Also her parents are grow old and die anyway so what's all the difference that she doesn't age during that time. Then of course there is sparkling vampire skin. It is really the stupidest thing ever. How is he supposed to pass as a strong vampire if he has sparkle skin. Why not make it be when he is in the light his true evil form is revealed or something like that? Oh yeah because A.That would be cool B.That would create actual dramatic tension C.Girls like jewelry so they love guys with sparkle skin. I'm not trying to be sexist here it's just these girls who buy this crap are increasing the stereotype of moronic teenage girls that have awful taste. I don't want to be sexist with this statement, but if this is a phenomenon to girls than it is official that a large portion of teenage girls have no taste whatsoever. In the end though it is the blandness that sticks out with this one. A pile of trash in many occasions can be better than nothing. Twilight sure is a nothing.

The Snowman (1982 TV Movie)

An absolute work of art. One of the finest examples of animation ever.
1 December 2010
This short is simply perfect. It has perfect animation, perfect music, and a great story. When Christmas classics are brought up I want one of the first things to come out of peoples mouths to be this short. It just does everything right. You like the characters despite no dialogue, and enjoy watching. The whole thing is great, but the best part is the flying scene. It is the closest I can imagine to an actual experience of non assisted flight. People could throw some 3-D movie at me with a flight scene, but this film is just way more genuine with the experience. You feel the wonder completely as it takes you over, and if you close your eyes you will feel like you are lifting off the floor. Also along with the amazing animation I love the music. The animation and soundtrack go together perfectly. The best part of music by far though is you guessed it the flying scene. This is a masterpiece on every level. Happy Holidays. My present to all of you is recommendation of this short. I hope you are filled with the same kind of amazement I was.

A classic that puts you in the mood for Christmas.
1 December 2010
There are many holiday traditions. Hanging up stockings, decorating the tree, and holiday specials. There are many holiday specials, but for sure one of the most famous is Rudolph. There is something about that puts me in a great mood. I think that is because its animation is humble. It isn't flashy. In fact it is extremely outdated, and it looks like it was made on $10, but that is what makes it feel humble. Its imperfections make it feel like something genuine. Something that doesn't ask to be loved, but is generally loved in the long run. It feels like a plate of homemade cookies. It is a story that is timeless. The characters are likable, and it has a lot of great quotes. What is best about it though is the songs. Every song is classic. My personal favorite is "Holly Jolly Christmas". Rudolph is a special that connects several generations together. It is a classic.

The Karate Kid / 3 X 0=0
27 November 2010
That math problem sums up this whole movie. It is "The Karate Kid" divided into three smaller karate kids. Then you times that by zero effort and you get one big fat goose egg of a movie. It is the fourth installment in the 3 Ninjas saga, and it is by far the worst. The other films I will review in time, but this is the big one. This is the one that everyone hates. It has terrible acting, terrible fight scenes, and an awful story. When it comes to the acting the only person I liked was Jim Varney, but that is not enough to make up for the rest of the cast. As you would expect the child acting fails completely. The 3 ninjas are all annoying especially the little one. As for Hulk Hogan I didn't hate the performance, but it is exactly what you would expect. Then we have the action which is terrible. It goes for fighting that is practically slapstick instead of actual fighting. That is something I hate about a lot of kung fu/karate movies. So many of them just go for laughs from kiddies instead of actual honor for the fighting. It insults it, and if I was a karate teacher I would spit on pieces of trash like this everyday. In my opinion martial arts should stay in the more adult categories. The only true exception I have seen for these largely kid friendly martial arts movies is "The Karate Kid" that's it. I can't wait for a day when another film like that comes around and shows kids what the art of combat is about instead of constant shots to the balls. Until then we get this. Also another thing terrible about the fighting that is unbearable is how they have weapons with knives, but they never use them. I know it's for kids, but if there is a terrorist in front of you and you have a knife that guy is getting stabbed. Have stabbing or lose the knives in my opinion. Also the fighting suffers from those cliché noises that are made when you make a punch. It gets really annoying quickly. Now we move on to the plot. It really all seems like an excuse to have Hulk Hogan. They might as well call it "Hulk and 3 Ninjas". He was what sold the film in the first place, but I am going to try and explain the plot. The ninjas go to an amusement park, and it gets taken over by terrorists. The only hope is the 3 ninjas, a smart girl with glasses, and Hulk Hogan......(3 hours of laughing later) Yeah that is one of the lamest excuses for a plot I have ever seen. Then we have dialogue which just like the fighting suffers from way to much childish humor. The jokes are very repetitive. The movie just isn't funny. I'm not going to give this film a 0 star rating. It's bad, but at least it isn't "Pocket Ninjas". Just saying the title of that movie makes me shiver.

Very nottie indeed
26 November 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This movie while not as bad as I thought it was going to be is still a very bad movie. For the most part everything is mediocre, but there are two main reasons why this film is bad. One is Paris Hilton. Paris is considered by everyone including me as one of the worst actresses in film today. She has the characteristics of a hoar. Selling her hot body to audience, but having no real emotion or passion leaving you disgusted after watching a movie from her. She is the stereotype of the skinny blond that gets all the guys, and I simply hate her for it. She is the girl who will call the everyday person trash even though 99% of them have a higher I.Q. The other thing is the message it sends. There is no way to bash the moral if I don't say the ending so SPOILERS!!!! In the end the guy goes with June the ugly girl after she became good looking. This sends the message that he only realized he liked her when she stopped being ugly. So the moral is love can be found when you stop being ugly, and start being hot. What an awful moral that makes this an awful movie.

Youtube videos are of better quality!!!
26 November 2010
This is one of the worst movies I have have ever watched. Everything about it is beyond bad. The acting, dialogue, fights, score, and humor are all total crap. The acting from everyone just feels pathetic. The dialogue feels like it was written by a 5 year old. The score is annoying as hell. The humor is failed completely. Then we have the worst thing about it. The sense of action feels void. Most of the movie is just people training. It gets really boring, and then when you reach an actual fight it is filled with loud sound effects that are laughably bad. As for action it feels like they put no effort into it actually being entertaining. The worst part of the movie in my opinion is for sure the bad guys training. It is supposed to be tough guys training, but instead it is just a bunch of silly slapstick to god awful music. It feels laughably bad at first, but it goes on forever to the point of boredom. This movie is just lame. It is as lame as I can imagine a karate movie being. It fails on every level.

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda
24 November 2010
This film is an example why looking to perfect something can make you never truly complete it. Richard Williams back in the 60's started this example. He loved what he was creating with this film so he waited so he could perfect the movie. Years passed when he created his finest achievement in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"'s animation. This got him a deal with WB. He now had more money to help finally create the film to perfection, but now he had a deadline. This deadline was not met, and Willams creation that he worked on for most of his life was taken away from him. The lesson of this story is don't focus on total perfection. If you do you end up with the piece of donkey crap I am reviewing today. Annoying characters, bland as hell songs, and constant added in humor. Let's start with annoying characters shall we. While many of the characters are bland and annoying the one who really got on my nerves was The Thief. He just won't shut the hell up. He doesn't speak so he monologues. Every second I have to listen to him crack an unfunny joke. Next is the songs which are by far the worst things about this movie. They have some of the flat out laziest lyrics I have ever heard. It's like if took Lady Gaga's lazy lyric writing and put it in a kids movie minus the sex and drugs. I could write better lyrics. Then we have the annoying as hell humor. After Aladdin came out they got the idea of forcing pop culture references into a film that's humor is silent is completely ridiculous. It's like if you took City Lights, made it sound, and had Charlie talk about going to Six Flags or something like that. Overall the film is simply a mess. It was raped and thrown in the ocean with cinder blocks to its feet. Now that I have said I hate the changed version now let me talk about the Recobbed Cut. This was a fan made cut that changed everything so it would be like it was intended to be like. It breaks my heart to watch it. It shows how this could have been a classic, but it was taken from a genius' hands and was destroyed. The Thief and The Cobbler are silent like they are supposed to be, the sound effects are made so they would sound older, the songs are gone, missing scenes are added, and the pop culture references are gone. In this new version we get more likable characters, more focus on animation, and a much better sense of humor. It would have been a classic, but perfection was wanted to the point where it was destroyed.

Fred (2008–2014)
4/10
I liked it in the beginning, but it went far downhill.
21 November 2010
I'm one of the very few people who are willing to admit I enjoyed Fred's first few episodes. I didn't love them, but I felt entertained. Then it felt like the show just got worse with time. I think there are three main reasons for this. One is the fact that it got way to monotonous. It kept on doing the same formula over a billion times. The fact is Fred's act gets annoying after a while. Reason number two is the fact that it became to kid friendly. When the Fred franchise got involved with Nickoldeon it lost a lot of dirty humor. They stopped focusing on stuff like Fred's alcoholic hoar mother, and tried to get more into Fred unpopularity with the other kids. This just made the show start to feel like I was watching one of those Disney Channel or Nick live action TV shows about teenagers in school. It got to a point where I felt like Miley Cirus was going to jump onto the screen, and start making my ears bleed. Third is how the show became a flat out cash cow. When the guy who made these videos realized he could make money off it he started George Lucasing it. He constantly advertised Fred products, and put in-show advertisements. I stayed with the show hoping that it would make a comeback, but eventually I had to click the unsubscribe button. I recommend the first few episodes, but other than that I can't recommend.

Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010 Video Game)
10/10
Great story, fun gameplay, endless multiplayer, and amazing visuals.
20 November 2010
Treyarch in my opinion shouldn't be put underneath Ininity Ward. I love MW, but Treyarch just keeps on brining brilliance to it's games. This is game makes it their time now. Their time to show everybody that their games aren't just some appetizers to MW. First lets talk about the singleplayer. The controls are the same, but if it ain't broke don't fix it. The story is without a doubt well written. It takes place during the Cold War and Vietnam times. It is a story covered in mystery. You want answers just as much as the characters do. The story takes place in an interrogation room. Your character is being ordered to decode a group of numbers, and find out what they mean. From there it's a trip down memory lane as you go into flashbacks that tell out what led you to this predicament. It's a great story, but what I liked most about the story was the character Reznov. Reznov is a character from World at War that you meet in a prison from there he is pretty much your best friend. You feel for his character, and when the twist about the character was made at the end I was simply shocked. As for the rest of the characters I think they did a great job. Also voice acting is great. Although Gary Oldman as Reznov is my favorite. Now lets talk about presentation. The graphics, sound editing, and music are all simply top notch stuff. One thing I loved about World at War was the violence. The violence in this game shows how MW2 are a little squeamish. Sure they killed an airport of civilians, but did you blow their limbs off in that game. No you did not. The sound editing is just great showing off a lot of talent. The music is also superb. Now that I am done with the singleplayer lets talk zombies. There are three modes. (Kino Der Toten, Five, and Dead Ops Arcade) Kino Der Toten is a fun experience with the same familiar gameplay as Nazi Zombies in World at War that we all know and love. My favorite "Five" takes place in the pentagon where you play as either JFK, Nixon, Castro, or McNamara. It is extremely fun, and it is also hilarious. Hearing JFK saying quotes from his speeches after killing a zombie is priceless. Then there is Dead Ops Arcade. It is an overhead shooter that involves living as long as possible, and getting a lot of points. It is flat out fun, and it feels like something that could be sold on X-box Arcade. For Treyarch though it is just part of the game. Now we get to the real reason why this game sells. The Multiplayer is a ton of fun. It has the same matches from MW2, but a few changes have been made. Leveling up doesn't get you a weapon anymore. You unlock it, but you still have to pay for it with CoD points. This makes leveling up just a status. What really gets you your guns is how good you are. Also a lot of complaints from MW2 have been fixed. No more nukes, quickscoping, and scavenging claymores. Now the campers are forced to fight like actual gamers. These additions in my opinion are welcomed. Also just recently they listened to some complaints about the Black Ops Next, Prev., and Random map choices. Now you can only go to a previous map once. This makes things much less dull and more of a full experience. Also there is Combat Training and Wager Matches. Combat Training involves you fighting against computer player with your friends gamertags. They move slow and act stupid, but it is an excellent way to train. Wager Matches are matches where you gamble with your CoD cash. If your running low, but have the confidence that you can do good you should check it out. Also if you are a guy who feels invincible, and you like to beat down noobs while taking their cash then I also recommend. Is the game perfect? No. A problem that has annoyed me throughout my online experience is when game lobbies are closed. I'm OK if it happens every once in a while, but there are times when I get three closed lobbies in a row. I think that the people running the servers should get their act together, and stop this from happening as often. Overall I highly recommend this game, but really do I need to. Everyone has bought the thing already.

Also if you would like to add me as a friend my gamertag is lbidude97.

Think "The Little Mermaid" remade by Japan
24 October 2010
I have a lot of respect for Japanese animation. I think the animation in them is amazing and the stories they tell are usually brilliant. Here is a film called Ponyo and while not as beautiful as some of the directors other works it shows how is an amazing creator of animated films and earn my respect. As you can expect from this film if have seen the other works of Hayao Miyazaki then you know just how brilliant the animation is. If you haven't them prepare to be amazed. As for the story it is filled with wonder. The characters are nice, and the plot is magical. I only had two problems with the film that stopped me from giving 4 stars. The first problem is that Ponyo gets annoying at times. I still love her character, but I think the screaming could have been less of an issue. Then the biggest flaw of this movie is that it is way to short. "Sprited Away" had a perfect runtime. 2 hours is a great amount of time that allows the viewer to be pulled to the magical world and never get bored of it. In this case it felt way to short. Before I knew it the movie was over. The ending feels like it will last a few minutes, but it ends up ending in the middle of when it should have been continuing. It feels like a film that is missing a few scenes. Other than that this film is sure to amaze you in many ways.

Welcome back Disney we really missed ya!
24 October 2010
"Disney" is a name that fills people with the happiness of childhood. Scratch that. They used to fill us with happiness. In the early days we met Micky, Minny, Goofy, Donald, Snow White, Pinocchio, and many other characters. Then a time came that "Disney" started losing its status. Then in the the late 1980's Disney started a come back resulting in Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, Huchback, Mulan, and more in just a decade. "Disney had once again become a symbol of excellence in animation again. Unfortunately the next decade would be that of corruption. In the 2000's "Disney" didn't release many 2-D animated films. I loved "Lilo and Stich", and "Emporer's New Groove" was very funny, but other than that the 2000's had very little to offer from "Disney". Instead of releasing great 2-D animated films they relied on several things to keep the company alive.

1.Disney World-Of course

2.The Disney Channel/Awful Music Stars-Extremely unfunny shows, awful singers, and terrible shows about the singers.

3."Pixar"-An extremely creative company that does all the work on their masterpieces. Then "Disney" comes along to take the movie to theaters, stamps its name on it, and takes part of the profit.

They went from makers of such classics to sell-outs. The only time I would feel happy to see something "Disney" related would be either classics from the good days or something from "Pixar". Now I am happy to say that there are some people left at "Disney" with enough passion in their heart to stop being lazy, and make another movie to be called classic. Here it is, and while it doesn't make up completely for how they have betrayed us it still is a deep breath a fresh air helping those poisoned lungs. First thing to say is that I love the setting of story. It was about time they added a bit of chocolate to the cracker if you know what I'm saying. The setting of New Orleans in the Deppression Era is filled with life. This brings me to the music which is very diverse for "Disney". The farthest I have seen Disney go into different forms of music in their musicals is reggae in "The Little Mermaid" . Here we have jazz, ragtime, and country which is something that "Disney" musicals has't gotten into. As for the song themselves they are wonderful. The two I would like to pick out are "Almost There" and "Freinds on the Other Side". "Almost There" is an excellent song showing the feelings of a person in the Deppression who feels like their almost at their dreams. The animation in the song sequence is wonderful, and it looks like the cover a jazz album coming to life. Then we have my favorite. "Friend on the Other Side" is a brilliant villain song that is one of the best of the decade. I love how charismatic, and cool it is. The animation in the sequence is gorgeous, and filled with strange images. That leads me to the absolute best part about this thing. The Shadowman. I absolutely adore everything about the character. His image, his charisma, his song, his voice actor. He is awesome, and in my opinion one of the best "Disney" villains. Is this film perfect? No. One of the things I didn't like was how cliché it was. "Disney" wanted to make it give the audience the same kind of feel to it that the classics had, but I think I have seen a midnight time limit a bit to many times. Also I felt the romance was too sporadic. It's like one second they hate each other, and the next the "Disney" love train is on the way. Personally I liked the scenes where they were arguing or just having some witty comebacks at each other more than the romantic stuff. Overall though it is a breath of fresh air, and now that Miley is gone I think this the start of a new era for "Disney". A good era.

Donnie Darko (2001)
10/10
A very under-appreciated masterpiece.
22 October 2010
This movie is brilliant. It doesn't deserve to be called a cult classic because it is so much more than that. I looked at the premise of the film and laughed. A giant bunny? Then today I watched it, and realized that despite it sounding silly it is in no way silly. The best scenes in my opinion are when the bunny is around. His voice send shivers down my spine. It has a lot of powerful buildup to a genius ending. Also I would like to point out the movie has a great soundtrack. It has strange images and camera angles, but at the same time it keeps a brilliant storyline. It is brilliantly directed and written. "Donnie Darko" is one of the best films to come out in the 2000's.

Absolute perfection! Brilliant from beginning to end.

When I decided to watch this movie for the first time today I thought that it was going to much like a "Monty Python" film. I love "Monty Python", but the movie I am reviewing today is different. "Monty Python" is funny humor that is filled with a lot of silly satire. With "Dr. Strangelove" it never seems to take itself really unseriously. Does it at times get unrealistic? Yes, but compared to most comedies this gets very subtle. The dialogue is simply amazing. In fact I think that if I called it that this movie has the best dialogue ever in a film I wouldn't get a lot if any backlash. The characters after seeing them one time I already feel like I have seen them a million times how memorable the characters are. The people who play the characters are just wonderful, and would like to thank them all. It just unbelievable what I got out of this movie. In my opinion it works well as both a comedy and a drama. I love every moment of it.

The Exorcist (1973)
10/10
Watch it at midnight with the lights off and enjoy.
15 October 2010
This movie is beyond creepy. It has a sense of atmosphere thicker than pea soup. It is filled with moments that will make you go "Yikes!". The acting from the whole cast is solid. The performance that really impressed me was Linda Blair. She gives one of the finest child performances. When she is supposed to be innocent she can be compared to bunnies even. When she has to go crazy god damn does she go crazy. The cinematography is excellent capturing the dark atmosphere perfectly. Therec is also some of the finest uses of make up ever when Regan gets fully possessed. Many people call this the scariest movie ever. I wouldn't say the scariest, but would be lying if I said this wasn't one of the creepiest and most shocking ever.

Just Brilliant!
14 October 2010
This film I've loved for years, and I can't tell you how many times I have watched it. When I was a little kid I watched for the cartoons and the funny jokes. Now I can realize just how great this film is. First off I love classic cartoons. I mean who doesn't. They are entertaining to kids, and adults can't deny that they love them too. Now imagine every and I mean every cartoon character you can think of from the golden age of animation in one film. Don't think it's possible? Think again. This film has everyone, and they even have WB and Disney characters in the same scenes together. It feels like a segregation of cartoon characters stopped and now we see everybody together. There is a hilarious scene with Daffy and Donald, and the two big guys from Disney and WB are in a scene together. It is simply amazing and it is a great feeling that will never truly be recaptured. As for the plot it is much more than just a near 2 hour cartoon short. It is a mystery, a thriller, a romance, as well as a great comedy. You really do get attached to the characters, and you get wrapped up in the mystery. It is a very well written story. Then there is the groundbreaking effects. When I was small I never thought about all the stuff the filmmakers had to do to do some of the stuff that happens in this movie. There is an ocean's worth of creativity involved. If you haven't seen these kinds of things done before you will have your jaw drop. "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is a work of genius. It revolutionized cinema and it is still inspiring to this day.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009 Video Game)
10/10
A great single player and addicting as hell online multiplayer.
11 October 2010
Modern Warfare 2 is a massive game that has built a following as big as even the Halo franchise, and there is a lot of reasons why. First thing to go over is the singleplayer campaign. There is 18 missions in the game which is much more than the first Modern Warfare. Although this leads to some missions being a little short. One mission near the end actually took me like 5 minutes to finish. That in many ways can be ignored due to the great story, and brilliant visuals. There is also a lot of cool new addictions to the campaign also. Now there is times where you will drive a vehicle, and these moments produce some of the most adrenalin rushing moments in the game. The story telling for this game is much larger than the first game. While the first game had a huge HOLY SH*T with the nuke this game has several of these OH MY GOD moments. The plot twists are not seen coming, and they are very effective. Although there is some weak character development at times. In the first game you became attached to the characters, and hoped that they would be alive by the time the credits rolled. Here you don't get attached to characters as much as you did the first game. Then there is the thing we all know about. This game is simply gorgeous in the visual department. There is huge epic moments that will amaze you, and little things like an enemy not dead yet with his blood smearing on the ground he is crawling on that just show the expert crafting of this game. So that's the singleplayer, but we all know what we are here for. We want the multiplayer. To calls movie as addicting as coke and heroine combined is an understatement. There is and endless amount of hours than can be spilled into this game playing just Team Deathmatches alone. There is a great upgrade system. You can unlock different attachments and camouflage to your guns, unlock other guns, upgrade and unlock different perks, unlock different kill streak awards, unlock titles, unlock emblems, there is so much more than just leveling up when it comes to this game. Also I love kill streak awards here. You can get UAVs, care packages, predator missiles, even a nuke. You will spend hours playing this game, and you will only stop when you get the next Call of Duty game.

Fred: The Movie (2010 TV Movie)
1/10
Hey it's FRED and it is total garbage.
8 October 2010
This movie for sure qualifies as one the worst movies in recent memory. After just a few minutes of Fred's voice I felt like killing myself. It is simply sickening that these people actually find this funny. The acting is terrible, and the dialogue is lame. If you don't totally understand what I mean by how horrible this movie is think about it like this. You're strapped to a chair, and forced to listen to nails on a chalkboard till your ears bleed. Well with this movie you're ears start bleeding a few minutes in, and it continues until you make it to the end or kill yourself. Luckily I am experienced with bad movies, and I have seen a few movies worse than this. (Disaster Movie, Hannah Montana Movie, Baby Geniuses 2) Although if you are not experienced with true pain than stay away from this film. It will break your mind into tiny little pieces.

Superbad (2007)
10/10
Hilarious and also in many ways heartwarming.
7 October 2010
This movie is one of the funniest of the 21st century. The jokes are hilarious, and it is spoken by a great cast. Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Seth Rogen, and others are excellent in their roles. The characters they play you really latch on to you. They are extremely likable in many ways. The dialogue is also superb. It's a fast moving script that gives many great lines by the end of the movie. Also at the end I sorta felt some happiness. It's one thing to make me laugh throughout, but to make a vulgar comedy like this actually make my heart warm is a very big plus. It's a film about friendship, and that message manages to find its way through all the vulgar stuff.

A gritty look at prison. One of the best prison movies ever.
5 October 2010
This movie I'm not going to call this film the IMDb #1 movie, but I really can't deny that this is fantastic. The cast, the score, the writing, and the power are all here in this film, and filled with strength. It's one of those movies that you will continue to think about even after the film is over. It is about a friendship, a life, an evil, and a hope. A hope that is considered in many ways to be bridge to insanity inside the prison walls. We see these people as years of time goes by. We see friendships grow, and topics change. It really puts you in the prison, and makes you feel what's like to behind those bars. You feel the friendship, the hope, the darkness, and the pure horror of it all.
