Still (2023)
Amazing man, amazing documentary
I'm going to preface my review by sharing that my oldest brother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease two years ago. When I saw this was coming out I could not wait. I finally got the chance to watch it and it is done beautifully. Whoever came up with the idea to use some of his old clips to tell his story is brilliant. I grew up watching Michael J. Fox grow up. He was a great actor with great timing and I was devastated to learn he had Parkinson's back in the day. The fact that he had it for several years before telling the world blows my mind. Because everyone thinks it's an old man's disease. Or an old woman's disease. He was in his 20s. This is a must see so you can watch his journey from the beginning until present day and the way he tells a story is beyond excellent if I could give it 20 stars I would.
The Last Thing He Told Me (2023)
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Do not waste your time.
I watched the first two episodes got hooked so I continued I read some of the reviews, but didn't want the spoilers so I didn't read those. And all I can say is what the heck kind of ending did that writer do? The most pathetic way to end a suspense drama Series. "Five years later"... Done. So stupid. What a waste of time. And the acting was atrocious now that I look back at it it was so monotone don't waste your time.
The fact that you really don't know where he is how he's hiding and eventually you find out what he did, and how creepy and sneaky was in my opinion to bring her into his life that was a risk.
Keep This Between Us (2022)
Been There Done That A Story Needing to Be Told
If you can relate or maybe not , this is a sad story that needed to be told. Unfortunately, this story is one that goes back as long as there have been male teachers and female students and heck adults of any gender and students. I thought my Catholic School was sick this tiny school was just as terrible. Under no way, shape, or form should she be blamed. EVER. She was a child a student who trusted an adult. He GROOMED her. And the fact there were other girls were going through this too is not surprising. Do not blame the classmates for looking the other way because they do not know any better it is the peers way of handling it. No big deal in their eyes. She is brave for speaking out. Im sure many wish they had this platform and did not fall for "Keep this Between Us"...
The lack of 10 stars is she protects his identity.
Our Father (2022)
Unbelievable documentary
Kudos to my hometown reporter for sticking with this story and exposing him and his victims. The negative reviews must be from his cronies. One person reviewing said he was just helping people who had trouble getting pregnant. You must have gone to get a snack when they mentioned all the health issues these half sibs had. You can have no issues to donate. He had RA. He was clearly playing God and they spelled this out in the title. He is a psycho path religious fanatic who got a get out of jail free pass. If you know the story like I did (I live within range of Indy) or never heard about it, it is a must see. The number of victims are still climbing.
The Assistant (2019)
I Do NOT know what I just watched
Not sure there is a spoiler in here but here it goes. This was the most dry, boring movie I have seen in a long time. I think there could have been more to it had they tried not to be so creative with just focusing on the one person who rarely talks. I kept waiting for something to really happen, yes, I get it, this is a "do nothing" "say nothing" society, but if you want to entertain vs send a message add facial expressions and dialgue PLEASE. They could have sent the same message while entertaining.
Uncut Gems (2019)
Unbelieable from beginning to end
This is one of the worst movies that I wasted my money on and I cannot believe the good reviews. If I had a dollar for all of the "F" bombs that were dropped I would be a millionaire. The stress level was elevated by this and the fact he was a complete idiotic character who cheated on his family not just his wife. I the REAL world he would have been chopped into a million little pieces about 20 minutes into the movie. He cheated on his wife, "friends" and "business partners". I could NOT wait until was over. And then there was the ending. Like I said, this would have happened 20 minutes into the movie and left MANY unaswered questions. oh and the music was confusing too. I say, booooo and two thumbs down.
Trainwreck (2015)
Raunchy and Do NOT understand the love for Schumer
In the opening scene Amy's dad is telling a young Amy and her little sister why he is getting a divorce in a way they will understand. I was curious as to where this movie would be going after his creative way of explaining his infidelities. Cut away to 20 or so years later and Amy's many "sexcapades", this movie was so aptly named "Trainwreck. I sat through this movie I wanted to become an Amy Schumer fan but she did not make me laugh if anything I was just waiting for it to end and blaming her for a wasted evening. It was nothing but an average looking female with a lot of confidence actually really discovering she is a shallow person with no confidence trying to convince the world confidence is found in drugs, alcohol, sex and bad language and if you do all of these things you will land a rich doctor, lose a rich doctor and then reunite with a rich doctor and live happily ever after, maybe, we don't know. I just felt the majority of the movie falls flat.
The ONE saving grace is the one person I despise as an athlete and that was Lebron James and all of the scenes he was in. He made this movie tolerable. Why the movie critics are so in love with Trainwreck is beyond me. Save your money and your time and skip it altogether.
